I have to say extreme disappointment doesn't begin to describe this current debarcle.
I opened between 9 and 10 and respected the intentions of the change and the reason for actually stopping us getting Jedi during 9.
I was pretty disappointed to find out we would not be treated the same as someone who had opened a day before Publish 9 and not used their new slot, but I got over it and moved on.
Now, I am still waiting a visit from the "Old Man", I have tried playing normally and tried just sitting and waiting. In the mean time, a friend who opened 4 weeks after me has had his visit, and another friend who didn't even open during 9 has also had his.
PLEASE can you TRY to set some realistic expectations about how long this process is REALLY going to take and why those of us that had already earned Jedi once are still waiting, when those that didn't complete the process are not.

today after the reset will be the third day. so i hope to see the old man. maybe i give another day or 2, no oldman im giving up on this game and wait for WOW to go live. wont post in this thread any more. i think it a waste of time. th seem like trying to buy some time for SOE to make some change. hopefully thing get well n everyone is happy. those that telling s not to whine did not go thru all the pub therefore pls shut up n play more, experience this buggy game before you make those commence. the gaming experience fo me is geting from good to bad and now worse! been playing since sept 2003 we had no mount no bike everyone take2 mission and run together to finish mission. take 1 hours to finish a set of 2 mission for a group of 5-7 player... those were the day when we started we had go through the game that much and now till now this game still bugged like hell! pls nerf every thing... nothing is fun for me except doing jedi n grind thru them.

My feelings for publish 10 is mixed, the jedi trials interests me but it certainly doesnt excite me a great deal, esp after hearing about how much more grinding you have to do as a jedi.
What concerns me is thatpub 9 unlockers, by all means HAVE unlocked a JEDI char on their accnt but is unfortunate to be caught in between a transitional phase between the jedi system. I feel what might have been fair would be that JEDI chars are granted to pub 9 unlockers even if they are glowy or not, they have worked for it and should at least reap the reward of their own effort.
The whole thing about waiting for the old man makes sense, it might.. have helped if some information were given to us before the release of pub 10, imo that might have soften the impact when pub 10 was unleashed. People at least wouldnt be so psyched up full of expectations on the very day, but would be mentally prepared that they have to wait before the old man actually pays them a visit.
Well I'm glad pub 10 is here, so the devs can finally concentrate on other parts of the game... such as fixing bugs, or adding more content and revamping the combat/CGW. Something that would have more impact on the overall SWG gaming community as a whole.

I posted somewhere around page 53. I didn't expect any response to my post- as it was more a rant that anything else. As I am looking at this thread now- It's up to 85 pages. What INFURIATES me even more than the changes that have been made is the fact that the Developers WE pay have chosen to not have any response to 85 pages of CUSTOMER concerns.I can onlyImagne what would happen if I went to my job- and just said.."nah- I don't feel like talking to my Customers today. I don't have to answer to them." I wouldn't have a job for very long. How is this any different? 85 pages of question upon question upon comment upon comment AND NO RESPONSE? Must be that great Sony logic hard at work- obviously customer satisfaction functions differently in their world. The slope is getting more and more slippery as the hours go on.

Wow, I expected something to happen but this is stepping into maddess already.
I cannot decide which may be the worse or the polar ends on this one.
The strange unexpected additions that came with publish 10.
or
The subscribers that cannot realize this is a game and may possibly OVERREACTING.
My advice: play the game and enjoy it, if you do not enjoy the game do not play it.

This is my first post so please forgive any errors I may have done--thank you
I wish to say that I am very upset at the manner in which people have been informed of these changes. Mind you one cannot please everyone and I am happy that these changes have come to pass. I myself have completed 31 professions and a majority of the badges as well -- yes I glow and the force is with me. I have been playing since August 4 of 2003 so to call me a pure hologrinder is not true as I only just unlocked on (of all days) Friday the 13th of August 2004.
I have reviewed the conversion from old system to new system and feel it is fair to all. However, what does have me upset is the fact that there are players that have played for only 4 or 5 months, or less, done maybe 6 professions (they do have a life so not complaining that point) and are in group 3 or 4 (if I remember your group system correctly). Yet! they get a visit from the "old man" and I still have to wait and do something. When I got the message that I did unlock I knew that there would be some delay as to when I could play my jedi. This being said I agree that the final test to become a jedi should be done by everyone. What bothers me is that there are people out there that have, like myself, played for a very long time endured the trials and tribulations of the beginning hic-ups (we understood that this would happen and accepted that) but now after who knows how many hours of working to unlock and be a jedi the system changes. Ok, thats cool we can live with that, as well again, but to make those that have supported this game from the start as wellto havethem wait while others, that have NOT unlocked and NOT even been trying to become jedi,be allowed access to the village. This to me is totally UNACCEPTABLE ! You want to control the traffic for fear of crashing the server ok but for the love of Yoda give the people that have unlocked the first crack at getting into the village.
If the only way to get to the village is to have a visit from the "old man" then get that list made up of who did unlock and get him to go to them first. I know of 3 persons that have been visited by the "old man" and one of them does NOT have the "inner glow".
I watched the chat forums to see if I was the only one complaining of this (hey I have been known to be wrong). Once there I found out that I was not the only person that was overlooked and passed-over I still waited to make a post as I submited a ticket to maybe get an answer from Customer Service. Guess what 5 hours later I got an automated responce saying nothing that I had not already read. (Boy was happy then)
I think that maybe that whomever can do this look into the fact that many of us believe that there is an oversight (or bug or whatever you wish to call it) that has somehow ommited several players from being visited according to the information that you yourself (dev's of soe) posted in the holocron. I am not really suprized that this happened. However! I am asking that you fix it and fast before there is enough people that get sick and tired of this stuff and decide to leave this game.
All that I am asking is that you look into the the chance that some of us "believe" that we have been bypassed but some unknown glitch and to fix it.
Thank you for allowing me to express my opinions here

Ok, I WAS in support of the Devs on this and the Credit given to grinders and the idea to gate the Old Man based on your FS ie Glowy status until NOW!
TH said that if you were Glowie at Pub. 10 release you would get a visit by the Old Man.
Now, what about the ones that were under Glowie at release? Don't they have to wait for the Auto's to get the visit BEFORE they do??
If that is the case then there is something wrong here!
A very close friend, that I'm on the phone with as i type, was NOT glowie at the publish. But went out and achieved glowie last that night. Now she just logged in and was visited by the Old Man.
Can someone please explain what is going on? Did I mis-read TH post? Is it ANYONE that got glowie Tuesday can get the visit?
Please help me understand this...
We have many that have did the grind, were glowie on release and 2 days later, still no old man. While any person can 'grind' the badges and a profession on Tuesday AND get a visit before anyone else is beyond my understanding!
PLEASE help me on this one....
Thank you....

Ok now look, i didnt unlock but y know what i feel bad for all the people suffering greivances. What ever happened to "The customer is always right"? we pay 15dollars a month for this game waiting "a FEW months" IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!! a few months can be alot of money 1-15$ 2-30$ 3-45$ 4-60$ jesus with that money i could almost buy every other starwars game out there. now you have to understand your not being thoughtfull of the customer who PAYS TO PLAY! Time is money literaly in this game. Also this is a bit off topic, but if your gonna provide new professsions can you make vendors that sell skillpoints, many like myself were foolish as a n00b and spent them on dumb profs we didnt need.
Thanks
