From comments made by TH noted in BlueCelts post it would appear that the combat balance has been in the works since last december, Why is it then in the in concept forum http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=in_concept&message.id=13442that the devs are looking for advice to what to change in combat after 8 months they still dont know what needs to be fixed ?

Everyone bashes TH and the Devs for lies and misinformation when you don't even realize that they don't have to have this much community interaction. They can't hire tons of people with your 15 bucks a month and even if they did, you can only have so many people working on the same project. Most of the people here are arguing from a position of ignorance. You have no idea what its like to do thier job and you don't know what goes into it. Some others havea sort of a clue and have some well thought out complaints.
Really hmm..I guess the roughly 70million a year they make from SWG alone isn't enough to hire a few extra people...

The funny thing will be come monday morning when TH sits down at his desk to check on things, and he sees this forum rivaling the one he tried to hide. Wonder if he will try to sweep it under the rug also.

Wait if I have my math right...That means a "Combat Balance" is at LEAST 5 months away, which is 5*15=$65 away. You can buy another game with that money where these problems are fixed NOW. LOL

Haha, Meth's post was owned by Jeassa. Kind of sad really, I would have liked to read his response. It seems like he puts a bit of effort into them. (Even if they are opinionated and inflammatory)
I agree, there areproblems with the game. Supposedly the higher end content of SWG is the galactic civil war, and in my opinion the most fun part of that would be pvp. If the pvp was balanced maybe non pvpers would be motivated to participate. The thing is you can't make everyone happy. When the game came out and you could kill someone in one or two blaster shots.... it was fairly balanced and realistic. You get shot a few times... you die. How many times did stormtroopers in the movies get shot before they died? Not many. Jedi.... Jedi's are demigods in the movies and the books. I love jedi games... but in a game where a majority of players are normal people you can't really allow jedi. You'll either empower the jedi profession to be gods in which no one can stand against them, or you'll have to change the jedi to be somthing other then they are.
For all the people looking for differant MMO's, you're not going to find an MMO paradise. Most of the games out there have thier own flaws, and you have to learn to adapt to the flaws or stop playing. A major problem you're going to find is in looking for good pvp. I wish all the cancelee's luck in finding a game that suits your needs and in having fun. I'll probably leave SWG but it'll be in my own time.
And Meth.... fight the good fight. Damn them nazi's!

Okay guys we got a long way to to the record. On that attic that the old post is in now was 1740. The last threat got to 1550 before TH pulled the plug. Can you say scared to have that mark on his tenure. Lol anyway 1550 demands ascendancy to the level of the devs. Most threads do not reach a 100 posts and they are up for a week. That thread was done in two days. I mean it truely boggles the mind that it did not stop someone in their tracks, and we would get a response.

Thunderheart should have stated it is not about JTL. Lucas Arts has to come in and work with SOE. Currently Lucas Arts has another project due September 26 for release. Star Wars Battlefront. Anyone has worked with Lucasfilms Ltd. would know Lucasfilms Ltd. is understaffed. That includes ILM, Skywalker Sound, and Lucas Arts. SOE primarily runs the server but by no means do they work on this game alone. They have to have Lucas Arts Developers present because this is not SOE's game but Lucas Arts look at the CD Case. Lucas Arts name all over it and in small print Sony Online Entertainment. Why is that? You wonder it is because this is primarily Lucas Arts game. SOE is like Microsoft when Galactic Battlegrounds came out. So your complaining to the wrong people SOE is not responsible for the puh back it is Lucas Arts. And for all you boycotting JTL boycott all Lucasfilms Ltd games and movies. Boycott Episode III when it goes to the theater May 18, 2005.

If you haven't looked at the above link, please do. The original poster makes a good point.

I agree I absolutely refuse to purchase JTLS untill the basic ground game is fixed so your idea of making "EASY MONEY" SOE isnt gonna work this time!!!

I'm not boycotting. I'm just refusing to pay a monthly fee for a broken game.
If Battleground comes out and doesn't suck, I'll buy it. If JtL comes out and doesn't suck, and they fix the ground game, I'll consider paying for SWG again.
Until then, my money is going to games that are currently in a working state, and preferably don't charge a monthly fee. Speaking of which, Doom 3 comes out soon. Mmmm....

I am sure SOE/LUCASARTS allready figured out how many accounts they will lose vs profit for the year and thats why it took them 8 months to tell us that it wont be touched until after the expansion.
