There is no emotion; there is peace

There is no ignorance; there is knowledge

There is no passion; there is serenity

There is no death; there is the Force

I got to thinking about this last night while the tendrils of sleep slowly enveloped me. This was brought on by the news of the recent publish, what it meant, how long it may be before some of us were able to follow the path and how angry it made me at first.

I started to think about why I actually play this game. Is it because my life long dream was to become part of this universe and to become a Jedi? Perhaps, in the begining it was. The more I thought about it however, the more I realized that this is not why I play the game now. After pondering for a while I realized that I play this game for many different reasons than when I started. I play now because my best friend here is a 7' yellow Wookiee who can pull peoples arms out of their sockets and always remembers to give me a noogie to get me to laugh. I play because my real life friends are just as addicted as I am. I play because those same friends call me for a buff when I'm not on *wink *grin. I play because it is a delight when old friends who have not played in a while return. I play because I represent one of the most honorable guilds I know of. I play because the city I live in is made up of diverse, interesting, fun people that I have made great friends with. I play for the reason that at any time I can go where I want, do what I want and play when I want. I play so that I can have the satisfaction of ridding the galaxy of another evil Crackdown Squad. I play so that I can get slaughtered again and again by a bunch of over-grown tin-cans on some ship up in space - and do it in my shorts. I play so that I can slap and Imp ST and get beat down, fined, and put on a report; just for grins. I play so I can have the giddiness and excitement build watching the countdown of a Imp base that is being taken out. I play because there is so much to do and great people, Rebel and Imperial, to do it with.

So in closing I would like to just say these few last things. I apologize for my initial anger over the publish. I hope that those of you who I talked to and had similar feelings can gleen something from this. And to those of you who talked to me last night and helped me to start thinking of why I play this game I say, Thank you.

This is what I see in the big change. I see SOE loving this thread and enjoying the new system cause now they are sure they have captured alot of attention back into the big market tool for this game the Jedi they have been dangling in front of the mouse wheel. All this game is now is a 2.5 gig chat room and when everyone here getting worked up on the OLD man gets a visit all the issue well go to the village which was still full of bugs in the test center. and also you well need at least 150 to 170million xp which makes SOE happy cause its more gameplay time = more monthly fee's cashed in and draws and sucks out more and more cause now we all have a Light at the end of the tunnel. I have been playing since June 30, 2003 I never posted anything just read some of the bhoards sometimes and now I have been more interested in the over all responce i have seen on this board. The Jedi system was the biggest seller and still remains just look at this long list of people in the board now. I talked to Kurt at the E3 show in Los Angeles and he was exicted about the new system they created and talked of another bonus he wanted to try. He wanted to try a Proffession based reward that when you master a Proffession and drop it for what ever reason you can get it Re-Matered for half the xp. If only some small feature such as the one mentioned he wanted to try was added to the patch i would probably want to stay but now im tired of playing the game havent logged on in 3 weeks had like 150k maint payed on a house and in 2 weeks time it has dropped to 49% so much little thigs that all add up to worry about the Jedi smoke screen they have sucked us all into. I still get 30 email boxes popping up when i send one email anyway im done /passing the torch on to the next mouse in the wheel..

I think those who went threw all their holos but their silent are getting screwed. I have 9 proffs left and I am pissed that nothing is being credited to me. I have been working nosop on grinidn proffesions since January. The way u let some people do 6 proffs then unlock, then said hey there are alot of Jedi, lets increase the amount of proffs to unlock is rediculous. Then those who did mass proffesions and actually opened holos which took alot of time to find or a lot of credits to find got robbed. I opened all my holos that i aquired till it went silent. Then grinded like crazy and have nothing to show for it. A few of my friends did 4 proffesions, not 1 a holo and have same sensitivity to me. Plus I am no further along in the trails than anyone else. I think those who have actually opened all their holos and completed them and done should be granted something. Please let me know what is to b done with this. I am ready to quit this game because this is freaking nuts. You give holos at Christamas, then they turn out to b no good in less than a year because you change the way things are done. I don't want to start this if u are going to change it again when to many people unlock. Please email me and let me know if i should even bother playing anymore.

Dont totally lose hope man. every holo you did grants you enough xp to train a FS skill tree. you do get credit.

And with the more profs you have done, the higher chance each one of them will let you train in mor FS trees.

Basically, you get that grinding xp back.. with interest.

I am sorry, but I don't understand how you become eligible for the village if you are relatively new to the game and didn't get a holocron and have only mastered a few professions.

What do those of us not in any of the groups mentioned do to earn entrance to the village?

Don't you understand thatNEARLY EVERYONE who plays this game wants to become a Jedi?

So you tell us that publish 10 will have a fair and quest based system to allow you to enter the path. You reward those who did the hologrind which, if you want to stay in business, you needed to do. But now you tell the rest of us that the way to getting a visit from the old man is a secret?

I guess my $15 a month doesn't earn me the right to play the game the way I want to.

I, for one, am not going to be strung along for too many more months before I choose another MMO that is a little less tyrannicalin the way it treats it subscibers.

I understand that you can't have everyone on every server rushing to the village at once, but to keep player's in the dark is wrong.

Give us information. Give us a definite time table. Make it hard and time consuming so that you will get my $15 for the rest of my life, but don't let us sit in limbo.

Has anyone been attacked by the sith yet? It would be nice to hear that the sith spawn wasn't broken

Just in case it makes a difference:

I logged in three hours after server up on patch day. i went to my house outside coronet, moved some stuff, ran back to town (1km) and shuttled to yavin. Buffed my wife, went afk with the window up so I could see spatial and did some work. (5 hrs) she hunted avian meat.

Logged out, went and had some snuggle time with my wife (she went afk)

3 hrs later, logged back on, went to endor killed some jindas (never saw them before.. kinda skipped endor) Moved on to the marauder camp. Did part of the mini-theme park. Worked for the NS parked there, my wife did the missions for the other guy and the king, got the armour. We flew back to naboo, biked to our house there, and logged.

6 hours after server up today we logged in, flew to yavin, I buffed her at labour, she started hunting avain meat, I went afk to work again. in ten minutes she got her visit. I buffed myself, someone else standing there, and went out the 600m to her and start helping with meat. On the first lair was jumped by big group of crystal snakes, and during this fight the old man showed up.

Since she was logged in afk, and I logged right out, and we got our visits very close to each other, I do not think it matters if you are logged in for a set amount of time or not.

What personally suspect, although have zero zip nada to corroborate, is that you should be killing things/doing missions while you are waiting.

I'll also be EXTREMEMLY upset that when my account came up for renewal, SoE AUTOMATICALLY renewed for ONE-YEAR. I'm stuck paying for this game when it's turned into just one long, mindless, "gated" grind-fest.

Still waiting for the sith..!

Either it is bugged or it is taking as long as the old man visit....!

I wonder how many accounts will be cancelled because of how long it actually takes to get into the village

Has anyone actually got into the village yet.....?

Is it supposed to be the same as what was on TC as once you have the old man visit you pretty much got a visit from the sith outlaws straight away

My quest journal only shows the "talk to the old man" and nothing else........any one got the same....?

Thanks
