I had always said that it wouldn't be the number of professions you ground, only those that you needed to unlock. No one wanted to hear it though.
As for all of you post 9 unlockers or 32 prof grinders who haven't had the visit yet, I suggest you take a shuttle to a player city, head out from it and 'do something' there - dance, shoot nunas, extract some resources. From what I heard on TC, that is usually when the stranger will approach you - not in Coronet or Theed but when you are 'out in the boonies'.

So what you are primarily saying is that since I didn't bother with the holo-grind, and instead played the game I will be barred from entering the village for weeks? So I went to the end of every dungeon 4-5 times on every planet, finished every quest in every city on every planet, made MBH, master pistoleer, bought a house, fought int he GCW, killed and tracked jedi, collected more than 75 badges, hunted krayt dragons, kimo's etc etc etc. and I will be gated immediately. Wow, this game gets worse and worse with every publish. I "played" the game the way it was supposed to be played. I didn't grind professions, I became what I wanted and stayed there and RP'd the heck out of it and now I need to wait so the people who hurt the game the most can benefit. Thanks for all the love
EXACTLY!! This game needs to drop the "roleplay" title. I also did not grind out professions. How can that be considered roleplaying?!? I know I chose one career. By definition, you don't change from that. I don't recall Han Solo becoming a dancer, then a weaponsmith, then a master doctor, etc.
I don't think there are enough of us non-power-gamers speaking out here. No, I'm not a power-gamer. I have a 40 hour-a-week job, and a wife and a son at home. Yet, my monthly fee is the same. I'm interested to see how this further unfolds...

TH, could you answer to the real concerns of player about the waiting time to access the village, changing in secret the number of prof thus screwing up people who thought they were 80% done, the unfairness that non hologrinder get it in the ass for playing the game normaly, the unfairness of basing the reward on hidden prof mastered and also that even if you done 4 holo prof which is half of whats needed, you only get 2 unlock, instead of 3 50% completed).
The post you just made is avoiding all the hot topics, you guys screwed up on this patch. I ve been thinking to quit since june, only hoping I would be nearly done (like 80% done)with my jedi when the quest would go in, but now I m probably screwed up.
Thx SOE

TH if i automaticly qualify - where is my Old Man?
Just go about your business and he will visit you in a day or so
are you saying that the Old Man will visit fully qualified players (like post9 unlockers) in some indeterminate period in the future? To be clear: if we unlocked, we are not automatically guaranteed an immediate visit from the Old Man? We have to wait for some unspecific period beyond today?

I swear I've heard this line of communication before.

Guys, there is a DIFFERENCE between people who did Holocrons in November, and those who did them in February. In the early days, you'd spend hundreds of hours searching for the holocrons....or TONS of time getting $$ to BUY the holocrons...So just searching for Holocrons alone took over 100 hours. Then I got Master Dancer...you know just how fun that is...took 4 days out of my life...spending the whole time doing dancing. Then I hit Merchant...that took me about a month to do....(I was an architect, and sold stuff too).
Riflemen...was a TOTAL PAIN back then....took me several weeks to do it. During that time, it took an enormous amount of time and efford to get holocrons, and then to grind....
Right now, after Christmas, Holocrons were plentiful...then in february, chef revamp came, vasarian brandy, lots of available good armour, all these mind buff bots....it's easy as hell. In the 1 week that I came back, I mastered pistoleer, fencer, and swordsman. Pistoleer took me 1 day, fencer took me 2 days, swordsman took me 12 hours. Why? Because the ease of doing it all with the food we have now....
Overall I've done 11 professions, 3 of them from holocrons. The amount of time I spent getting holocrons and doing those professions back then, was a lot more than what it takes now...it would be equal to about 25 professions right now...and that's why I'm mad. I did a lot of work under the old system, and all these new guys came and grinded everything fast, and get more credit than me...
It's honestly not fair, and THAT is why I'm cancelling both my accounts. I hope you guys think about it too.

mmm, I feel pretty good and bad about this system, I did 3 holos and 8 other professions, chances are I'll only get 1 unlock
Umm, some clarification here as TH's post reads like a politician statement. If I do one holo I get one unlock correct ? This guy above therefore should get 3 unlocks ?

Why are you playing a MMORPG afk anyways? If you are not on you should NOT get the old man anyway.

What happens if Im AFK when the old man visits? If i dont respond will he despawn and my chances be ruined? If so, then I am chained to my computer desk for weeks possibly to ensure that I dont miss out. Please a little more help for Post 9ers.
Thanx TH, you obviously ahve your work cut out for you with all the PMs im sure your getting as well as tying to keep up with the rest of these posts. On a positive note everything that Ive been able to test so far seems to be working. The /findfriend works awesome. No more vehicle warp. /check also seems to work. Good job so far.

Go pickup your hammer and nails and craft me a house! Most of all the community want a jedi character not to double click 1million times to craft stuff. It's not whining it's telling you to quit this game because we want jedi. Lets make this name so real that we can kill anyone at anytime because that's as real as you can get. Some guy skip me in doc buff line well he's gone. Put that in the next patch since everyone wants this swg galaxy to be so real and in some storyline that is not concrete. It can be edited and rewritten however the creators would like.

There is no way I can find the right words to convey my disgust at this entire thing.
I have been waiting for this patch since January 23rd or whenever it was announced. Now after more than 6 months of waiting and $420 worth of user fees for the 4 accounts my wife and I have I took the day off work, used a hard earned vacation day to be on live when the much anticipated patch was rolled out. Now I find out that it may be DAYS before I am visited by the old man.
This is exactly the type of information that we were begging for over the last few weeks, now only too late do we actually get this information after it is too late.
The communication with the customer base has to improve.
I am so livid I can not even put it into words.
FIX THIS NOW!
