Adding Star-Warsy stuff - little touches

  • Killing a Jawa should make they audibly cryout "Utini!"

  • The chat box should be wide at the bottom and smaller at the top, like a pyramid with no point. This would give chat text the effect of scrolling up and into the distance, like the opening text of a Star Wars movie.

  • Anytime a "Loading" screen is used, once the game is finished Loading, it should cut to the game like a Star Wars movie (i.e. use that classic sidescroll scene change used throughout Star Wars and Willow)

  • Stormtroopers say "That one, over there!" and "I've got'm!" whenever they start attacking. They should say "Move along..." when they win a battle.

  • By a players HAM bars there should be a little "paper-doll" animation of your character, but it should be a classic blue hologram. It would mimic your actions on screen, and shake everytime you take damage. This would be nothing more than a cool aesthetic (though could be used as a PSG meter as well)

  • Basic Green-Con Stormtroopers, Ewoks, Gungans, Tuskan Raiders, Jawas, Rebels, etc. These would swarm players in droves and give that big battle feel as players use their area effect attacks to knock down multiples at a time, though for little to no XP/FP award. It just helps to produce the big battle cinematic feel.

  • More Tailor-made clothing using original movie costume designs. Jedi clothing, Lukes Tatooine clothes, Lukes Poncho, Hans outfit, Lando's outfit, Lando's cape, etc. Also, Scout Trooper Armor and Rebel Camoflauge gear (from RotJ).

  • Constant Star Wars music playing from the original scores. Different Battle music per planet, and different music depending on the mob (i.e. Duel of the fates vs. Force Sensitive/Jedi)

  • Weapon "Holstering" - No ACTUAL tailor made object involved, just hover the item over wear it would normally be "holstered." It works pretty well in another game, and just gives the game a nice touch of realism - instead of just holding your weapon all of the time.

  • Armor sound effects - "clinking" as players run

  • Indiginous races using their own combat styles - Ewok spears, kites, bows, traps; Gungan Boomers, shields, and Mounts; Tuskans (good as they are now); Jawas using JawaIon rifles and combat droids; Nightsisters using Rancors as mounts; etc.

Add to that

  • Change "Cloning" to "Bacta Therapy" - everytime you die you are "transported" to the local "Bacta Facility." There would be a very short animation of you floating in the Bacta Tank, and then you would load back into the normal game and be ready to go.
  • The ability "Wookie Roar" should have an audible Wookie Roar accompanied with it.

Obi-Wan - "We can pay you 2 thousand now, plus 15 when we reach Alderaan"

- in regards to securing travel aboard the Millenium Falcon with the smuggler Han Solo

So yeah, Spaceports Time vs. Immersion - I'm posting this here because it will get buried on the In-Development thread.

I'm all for immersion, but I'm even more for convenience. I want to play a game.

I have to use the New Jersey Transit Bus System in real life. But when I'm late, or feeling lazy, I pay a cab. It's a higher price, but it's quicker and more direct.

So, drop Shuttles to 5 minutes, which has been done.

DON'T change Starports or routes in ANY way. However, add "cabbies," i.e. Smuggler NPCs that are near/inside the Starports. By paying them a higher price than a player would pay for normal Starship ride, they can receive "Any Planet" travel without a wait time.

This is immersive, realistic, and ripped straight from the movies.

COMPLETE animation draw for all crafters.

THis would make swg waiy better then ever You could have labs of place where u put ur ingredients down. these would loook like textures. THey the person crafter would put together each item as perfectly as he could . That woulld go for assembly and experimentation. SO iif ssomeone built somethign it would look like this:

Archatecht carving marble away from a statue.

Chef mixing ingredients into things in bowls, or mixing drinks.

droids laying down bolting the droids gears and oiling them.

surveyers survetoying with shovels.

mmost of all i just wan tot see stuff liek that .

1 hour timer on PvP... once you have been killed in PvP make it an hour before being able to reenter or aid other in PvP. This would give death a more signifigant impact.

Give better faction rewards to rebels... right now they are awful.

Hi TH:

Hopefully I am addresssing this idea at the right place.

While standing at a mission terminal outside the Coronet Starport, I noted that the masses standing around me were all armed. I mean to the teeth. I was completely surrounded by enough firepower to take out an AT-ST and a squadron of Stormtroopers. Though this may look cool and even bea precaution for those who are overt, it doens't make sense:

(1) Planets such as Corellia, Talus, Tatooine, Dantooineand Naboo are orderly and run under some form of authority/goverment (i.e. Imperial, CorSec, etc.). Therefore, the idea of players walking or running through the streets of the major cities with weapons out is not realistic.

(2) Though many characters in the SWG world carrried firearms, only Imperial Troopers or local authorities were ever seen walking in public streets with a gun as large as a T-21 in their arms.

(3) "Untamed worlds"such as Rori, Lok, Yavin, Endorcan be conceivably environments where players could/would walk in the open with weapons exposed.

I propose the following:

(a) Weapons (one-handed, two-handed, polearms, and ranged) should be holstered/put away while in cities that have a form of civil/government authority.

(b) Exposed weapons in metropolitan cities (i.e., on Tatooine - Mos Ethna, Mos Espa, Bestine, Mos Eisley) wouldcauselocal authorities within reasonable distance (40 meters)to converge on the player.

(c) Exposed weapons in Imperial controlled cities willcause them to:

(i) Assist an overt Imperial player(s)

(ii) Detain/Attack an overt Rebel player(s)

(iii) Detain/Search a neutral or covert player(s)

(d) Exposed weapons in Civil Authority controlled citieswill cause them to:

(i) Demand that you put the weapons away or be subject to arrest (attack).

(ii) Attackthose firing a weapon within city limits (must be observed/heard by the officer)

Let me know what you think.

TH,

If you can, please check the metrics of how many players have successfully navigated the corvette. I know the percentage has to be miniscule. What is the point of developing these new dungeons if a very large percentage of the player base has no access to it? Who are the devs serving now? The community or power grinders?

Have the devs completely abandoned the casual gamer? The new content only seems focused towards those l337 players with 90% composite, tons of speed and damage skill tapes, krayt weapons, etc. A casual gamer stands no chance in the corvette, geo cave, and probably the death watch. As a master with moderate composite, full buffs, and plenty of food I still stand no chance alone in here. And as I usually play in the weee hours of the morning, even if I felt like being forced into grouping I usually don't have much luck finding it.

I don't understand why the corvette, which is instanced, couldn't be scaled according to the skill of players on the ship.

The devs have completely left behind the casual gamer and are now catering to the power gamers- something they swore would never happen. Please make sure someone on the dev team takes this into consideration when designing the death watch. I don't understand why every new dungeon has to be 10x harder than the last. Can't we get something that's moderate difficulty for once.

Everyone on the developer team needs to be reminded that difficult mobs are not content. They're just something to slow us down from going through the content so quickly that we don't notice how lacking it is. A story driven dungeon would be much more exciting for everyone.

I remember a time when these dungeons would have represented everything the developers were against creating. Let's all reevaluate our goals, consider where this game is going, and decide if that's what we want to create.

Thank you for reading, TH.

How bout you guys change the whole armor system !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 this system you have now is really boring to say the least with everyone wearing composite or soon to be everyone wearing madalorian armor !!!!!!!!!!

How bout you guys stop catering to the pimple faced little geeks that follow every craze out there !!!!!!!

Some Ideas !!!!

New Factional Armor

Storm Trooper Armor 30% Base Stats, 60% Electric, 60% Stun

Snow Trooper Armor 30% Base Stats, 60% Cold, 60%Shock

Scout Trooper Armor 30% Base Stats, 60% Acid, 60% Kenetic

Imperial Guard Armor 30% Base Stats, 60% Heat, 60% Energy

PSG's = Graphical Image ................. Uses Droid Batteries Instead of getting damaged ???????? Also would be nice if ONLY OVERT to use ???????

No Idea about Rebs !!!!!

Make Factional Armor Craftable ................... Change the overt system= If you are overt you cant wear COMPOSITE it must be your factional ARMOR !!!!!!!!!

Or make Benefits to wearing factional armor over wearing Compsite = No DECAY ??????

Remake the Armors now in the system ................................ Composite should not be 80% to all it should have a primary resist and secondary ............................... How the system is now is totaly lame ..... PVP should be about strategy not about bringing the biggest gun and the best armor .........................

I would love to see people running around with different sets of armor in the game ................ especialy in pvp ....... It would be kewl to smoke someone whom was wearing say some snow trooper armor with my Acid based gun .... but then a Scout trooper comes out and smokes me because my acid pistol hardly does nothing to him .................

Please provide an alternative method of acquiring Apprenticeship XP.

I've read numerous posts by people who like the current system and people who don't. I agree that as a concept it is great, it's good to get players working together.

I am a 32 year old player with family commitments that mean that I am only able to play for an hour or so at a time. I am persuing a more combat oriented character and have been sat at Marksman 4-4-4-4 for several weeks. I am also near to Mastering the Scout profession so that I can take the Bounty Hunter route.

The chances of me stumbling across people who require training are very slim. In the short stints that I am able to play I don't particularly enjoy standing around waiting for people to request training, nor do I like standing around at the Starport advertising training. None of these methods are enjoyable, nor do they FEEL right from a roleplay perspective.

As you can gather I also spend most of my time playing solo. This works well because it's difficult to make a commitment to other players who are able to play more regularly than I, AND it enforces Bounty Hunter roleplaying as they would typically work alone - but the game doesn't allow for this.

As I see it, all that needs to be done is to allow the NPC trainers to sell Apprenticeship XP, or train to Master levels regardless of AP XP. Of course this needs to be done for a fee as with all other training from NPC's. Training from PC's would still be preferable as it promotes interaction and would be cheaper, but alternative options need to be available to prevent alienating players who don't/cannot work in this way.

Could someone please fix the "blind" crafting/ viewing of several of the neclaces. I don't know how many i have colored backwards while guessing which was which, or guessing what color i need to select to get the hue i want in the final product. It is also harder for players to know what they are buying, when they can't see what it looks like until they buy/remove it from the vendor.

Also there are several color customization blocks which are not working for tailer (light buster "trim", luxurious gown color #2, ammo bandoleer, etc). These have been broken for a very long time now, and should be a fairly easy fix if someone will just do it.

How about fixing the horrible targeting in this game. In other games I've played I could cycle through dead things with a press of a key. I could target the current person attacking me with a press of a key, then cycle through other people who were attacking me.

I've never played a game that had such a poor targetting system. It wont' even target the closest thing. I'll have somethign chase me and I'll be targeting some chuba behind it. On the Corvette I had to manually mouse click all my targets otherwise I'd end up targetting something on some other floor I couldn't even see.
