The no death buffer got me I hit wrong weapon in hotkey and with the delay got killed for yep -200k xp now I'm in the hole and now i dont even want to keep playing I mean where is the fun in gringing out of the Hole huh,Thunderheart really maybe you should try it out yourself for a week huh, yea come to my server and give it a try. Let me tell you it sucks.
And i cant be alone in this ?

You arn't. While Jedi is supposed to be hard there is a fun element to maintain. This is a game. loosing 200,000 xp is way too painful. I have a Jedi on TC-2 and early on (while learning) I died only once. Almost right away. (5 sec) I lost *only* 15,000 xp putting me 15k in the hole that I would have to grind up to get to 0 then another 20k to get to a box so I could get rid of the training sabre and the low xp per kill. That was only 15k and I had to force myself to work off the xp. Did finally. But it felt like work. This is a game. humph.

P.S. I got killed by a software griefing. I logged into Theed during one of their test spawn of hundreds of dark jedi. I found myself in a sea of red dots and I was overt. Overt at login? I was covert when I logged out. Hope they fixed that before it went live.

I must say that this thread is a hoot to read through. Watching a bunch of players who completely overpower the entire game in every way complain about the one inconsequential balancing aspect of the class the developers put as a nod to the need for SOME sort of balancing drawback to such an unbalanced class. Too bad SWG didn't have the huevos to stick with meaniingful limitations once there were sufficiently many jedi players to dent their revenue stream if they didn't bend over for them. I think the jedi can count on even the minimal drawbacks they experience now (-200K works out to four minutes to earn back the penalty at 3M xp per hour) being relaxed if they continue to buck them.

Lest the reader become confused with only some of the facts. that 4 min is for a powerful Jedi. Maybe Knight or guardian or whatever. If you are a lowly padwan with only the first box of saber you will be lucky to get 1000xp in a kill. I usually manage 100-200. At least on TC-2. You will have to ask new padwans on live for the live numbers.

BUG:

After playing my Jedi for several hours, if I /sit, /logout.. and then log in my main, my computer crashes. I forgot to write down the error message, but it's a total CTD.

This same thing has happened twice now, under the same circumstances. Played Jedi for 2 hours, then logged in main.

I have a suspicion that it has something to do with the LS combat animations.

Oh, gods, that was a good comeback.

In all seriousness...seems my last post was removed...maybe the devs didn't like something hitting too close to home, or what? Essentially, my son and I were talking about his return to SWG (well, *I* was, anyway). He asked if he would be able to access the Jedi Trials (he understood the FS slot wouldn't simply be handed to him). I said, no, the devs are giving those who already have Jedi the 'Chance to shine' (as the devs put it) at the moment. He was being rhetorical - he'd already read the post from TH concerning this.

*Ahem*...to continue (it auto-posted? Is this new, or did I just (very likely) hit the wrong key?)

His question was, basically, when do the rest of us, who have paid SOE a like amount of money worth no less in value than that paid by those who have Jedi now, be given the opportunity to begin the quests that will simply allow them to begin becoming a Jedi?. Yes, I made him pay for his own online time by doing extra chores and helping around the house...and he felt SOE was snubbing him, simply because he has had school, homework, and chores to do, and could not even afford the 3 or 4 hours that some can after arriving home from the office/construction site/whatever. Now that it's summer, and he has a few more hours aweek to devote to the game, the devs are basically flipping him the bird, saying 'Sorry, kid, SOE saysyou are SOL. Your turn will come...eventually. Just shut up and put the smile on." He didn't have to point out that by that time, school will have started and he really will be SOL.

He didn't fuss. He didn't moan. He didn't complain. He quit. He gathered the materials, showed me where on the bookshelf he was putting them, and then wiped the game from his computer, reminding me that I owed him for six months online time that hadn't passed yet (which I dutifully returned to him - it was money he had earned, after all).

It is a truism in the business world that for every customer who raises a concern/complaint/etcetera, at least five others do not complain...but simply cease doing business with the corporate entity in question (amazing what one learns in college). Had I not posted this occurrence, no one would have known (not that the devs will regard it as more than a B-section obituary splash, anyway), and my son would have been one of the ones you never hear about, but simply ceased doing business. I hope the devs start treating folks with a little more of an even hand than my son got. When I finally unlock my FS slot after the Jedi Trials (I'm guessing February, at this rate - I am able to handle abuse of this nature much better than my son is), I know the temptation to return will be there. But you know what? I'm tempted to just flat out tell him 'no'...better the villain he knows that cares for him than the one that doesn't...and doesn't.

If having more Jedi around in the game than just Luke is bothering you and ruining your ambiance, then you shouldn't have picked it up in the first place. Everyone knew ahead of time that there was the chance for players to become a Jedi and if it angers you now, it should've angered you then, too. Why wait to complain, or why play in the first place if it is going to be such an issue.

I admit that it doesn't follow the story of SW. Maybe the devs should have disallowed player Jedi from the start, or maybe they should have changed the setting of the game toa different time period so that having player Jedi walking around would've made more sense. They didn't, and now it would compounding the mistake to keep players who are willing to put forth the effort from becoming Jedi.

To satisfythe anti-Jedi naysayersright now, the devs would not only have to dump the Padawan Trials and keep anyone from becoming a Jedi, but they would have to wipe many (or all) current Jedi from the servers. Many people did their time grinding professions, and it's called grinding for a reason. I have a Jedi, and at 3-4 hours a night five nights a week, it took me avery long timeto unlock my FSCS. I wasn't not participating in the GCW and not doing things with my friends and not enjoying the benefits of profession mastery for more than a half an hour, etc just so the devs could wipe Jedi because others are angry with something they knew was going to be in the game from the start.

If the devs were to limit/eliminate Jedi at this point, it would be out of the frying pan and intothe firefor them. Though I do mourn the loss of the original atmosphere of the game at release, scrapping Jedi at this point would be one of the biggest mistakes they could make

Hi there.

I am not sure where it all went wrong. I have filed CSR tickets and bug reports. I have spoken to my friends and they have this problem where Green Consideration colored creatures aand blues are killing us. I havent gotten any answers out of the various people. I have also contacted customer support. I know I am not alone, because I also spoke with a friend of mine and she has the same issue. When is this gonna be fixed

It wasn't a comeback for the sake of a comeback it was an honest answer. Myself and most other players that I have discussed the state of the civil war with do not feel it is even worth participating in. So instead of saying "good comeback" debate it unless you are unable to. Tell me how the galactic civil war in this game is actually an exciting part of the game and how it is fulfilling as a player of this game to participate in.

Besides those that use the arguement you should've known there would be jedi because you knew there was a chance of being one as a defense are merely defending their desire to be powergamers that play more to dominate a game rather than face a challenge and play the RPG part of the game. I have yet to meet a Jedi that plays the part.

Yes they said maybe you could be one of the rare few to learn the power of the force when the game came out. But now it is neither rare nor few. It's like Lucas promising Anakin will turn into Darth Vader in Episode 3 and you get 500 darth Vaders.

hi , This it to you all . I agree with the original poster on this forum . I too am leaving this game forever it really isnt a game anymore ....Look at 9.3 Patch to see what they have done to cm . Basically it has been removed from the game completely . That is the last straw for me . You just cant keep destabilizing professions so they cant compete in the game so people have to grind grind grind again to compete in another profession so that they have to nerf that next etc etc . The only profession i feel confident in doing now is creature handler but it has been wiped completely from the game too so is no use .. There is only 2 choices now instead tka and jedi but no way would i do tka as it is next for nerf of the decade nor jedi as that is going to be a grind to the death-the grind in this game is totally inhuman. People are selling jedi accounts for $ 2000 . That is ludicrous .. This game has just brainwashed people now it no longer is a fun game and is only any use to those that buy credits off ebay or have to exploit parts of the game to compete and boy is there a hell of a lot of that going about ...Im sorry but if you cant see this game has been ruined by bothcheating players and the new patches that just bring bad news, then may the force be with you lol BYE AND GOOD RIDANCE !!!! i dont know if your gonna read this thunderheart. Theres seems to be alot of post but im gonna post anyways just to post some thoughts..

I dont know where to put em so if this wrong area i apologize..

I would like to make the player ranking systems to altered.. I would think if you allowed jedi to either have their own faction standing (instead ofreb v.s. imp) or only allow them to advance in rankings by defeating other jedi.

Im not gonna go so far as to say to nerf them becuase i have been playing since day 2 and havent gotten jedi yet so hopefully soon ill get to have fun too but as of now its no fun. I wanted to pvp becasue right now its the only things that truely fun, i love picking out the weaknesses of the other template but Jedi have dampened this. my char is not rich nor do i care to be as long as i got cash for buffs, armor, and food im happy.

The point is, with the new jedi patch, the jedi have become much stronger (as they should be ) but the problems lies that the jedi knights goal is to gather pvp ranking right? well if you place them in the same arena as any other proffs, they will win pretty easily. without a doubt. so whats the challenge if you put them into a pvp situation where 98% of the competition is weaker. The point is I cant beat them no matter how hard i try , how many people i got, no matter how much food i eat , no matter how much dodge i got. If i do get close?? they force run away.. and they live..we cant catch em..We cant dot them. Jedi are stong (as they should be) but whats the fun in placing them in a pool where average joes get wasted and the jedi almost all the jedi i see have combat ratings of 1800 or above average joes are around 1200 to 1400. Take the pirahnas out of the goldfish bowl and place them among others.. Then we see who the good jedi are.. When they fight amonst themselves and leave us mortals to fight each keeping the fun going.. I know this will hinder jedi becasue the rarity of jedi ingame at any given time but , think about it. Who would you see on the jedi council , jedi's who beat other jedi or jedi's who killed master marksmen/master medic's all day. Im just requestinng that to seperate the pool.

Thank you for your time..

flame if you must but you jedi much understand my point of view.

Jedi knight hunt players, over or tef, and normal player havente a change vs jedi, they are too much stronger. Jedi have LS damage, nothing stop this, normal player cant heal his mind, weak pool, jedi attack dis bar and kill all players. If a big or stronger group go to hunt jedi, he/she use force run and escape. Jedi heal all states, posion and disease and heal min himself... Normal player go to left pvp, isnt fun.

Please Thunderheart, say something.

so far i dont like it. all the jedi do is force run if they get in danger then heal themselves of dizzy, bleed, stun. etc. then they force run back in with their enemies still trying to return from the normal damage tehy received from the jedi before they ran. there is no point in fighting them now, this is all they do. dare i say its impossible to kill a jedi. jedi even do this when light vs dark fight each other. i say nerf force run, make it so its the same as rangers burst run thats halfway thru wayfaring. so this gets rid of this cowardish tactic.i mean they do lots of damage as it is and lets face it jedi even in the movies could be killed, (example: episode 2, during the battle at the end where the jedi are against the battle droids in the coloseum, you see jedi fall while fighting).
