I love both the village and the journal very much! And I love love love that there will be quests for each type of play style.

However, once the waypoint for the village is up on the forums and fansites, it's going to become more crowded than Coronet. I'd hate to see that.

Then again, I'd hate not to be able to find it myself. I plan on heading out there the day publish 10 comes out and having a blast!

This place is the Village of Aurilia. It is a place where a group of Force Sensitive characters have gone to have some privacy and solitude in their lives. With the Empire slaying all the Jedi it can find, Bounty Hunters tracking them for profits and shunned by galactic citizens, these sentient beings needed a refuge. This village is that refuge.

TH, this is not a slam what-so-ever. I am a BH and have enjoyed the game since day 1 (well, 2). As someone that sat in my small town theatre in Kentucky(which is still there) at age 7 to see Star Wars, this game is a life-long fantasy. I ultimately want to open up force sensitivity, but not until the new "path" is developed. I am not one to grind. I started working on MBH day 2 of the game and I just achieved MBH right before the 1 year anniversary. I spend a lot of time adventuring and hunting. Not much for city life.

My question is regarding your statement above. When, exactly (if there is such a thing) will we begin seeing "the Empire slaying all the Jedi it can find?" I would really like to see the Imperial NPC's (especially Darth Vader & SW BH's like Boba Fett, Bossk, etc.) coming to cities (cantinas, space ports, hospitals, etc.) an attacking any Jedi that is overt, carrying a lightsaber in the open,or wearing a Jedi "tag" above their name. Something like what happens when a Rebel walks around in Kaadara. Then we can say, "the Empire slaying all the Jedi it can find" and honestly stay true to the "continuity" of the time period.

There is nothing we could possible add to the game that would make it more "Star Warsy" then that. I will eventually work on becoming a Jedi once the Jedi revamp is done. I would like nothing more then to have Darth Vader or Boba Fettconfronting me. As a BH I would love to have Darth Vadar or Boba Fett to confront me after, lets say, five or ten (5/10) unsuccessfull Jedi missions. That would be incredible. You guys (DEVS) would be GODS among men. Well, maybe that's stretching it, but you would be "liked" at very high rate.

As for when Darth or Boba would confront a Jedi, lets say, after ten (10) successful defenses against bounties taken on them. If the Jedi can survive, lets say, 5-10 minutes against them and escape (or even get a KD and escape), they earn Jedi XP or some cool badge (or other item). Same goes for the BH against them; once they escape, the cycle starts all over and thefive or ten (5/10)unsuccessful missions count begins again.

As for "Bounty Hunters tracking them for profits and shunned by Galactic citizens", this is a little off the mark as well. We all know this should not be in the story-line right now. The profit exploit can be fixed as easy as it would be to put a twenty-four hour (24hr) timeron how many times you can kill or be killed by a Jedi. We would then be able to put "BH and profits" together in the same sentence. I mean, my 'vitalize' and pixie use is on a timer, how hard could it be (you'll have to tell me this one, your the professional)?

As for the "shunned by Galactic citizens", this could be similar to me getting searched by Troopers in Kaadara for contraband. I get busted a lot on that. If a Jedi walks by specific NPC citizens and they are overt, wielding, holding a saber, or wearing a "tag" over their head (heck, even wearing their Jedi robes), they will inform the closest Trooper or even Vader. The code wouldn't be too difficult, would it (again, you'll have to educate me on this one)?

I say all this because when I read this part of the story-line, I immediately saw fodder for the disgruntled BH around the corner. I feel (and this may be just me) that these small additions would fend off the masses for a good while; at least until some of the major publishes are complete.

Oh, one more thing before I take my leave. I rarely post in the forums, so this may have been suggested a hundred times over; if so, I apologize in advance.

also to keep it secret from the websites that will post it on the website... you could have it instanced. and the entrance for those who are only starting they journey after to first find a randomly (well not totally random) spawning NPC who will help them find the entrance to the Village.

As one of the earlier people to unlock without "grinding" professions and one who stumbled upon it somewhat mysteriously, I absolutely LOVE this concept of village and journal. In fact, I'll put my other account through this just for the new content.

Holo-grinding was miserable for so many people, and I lost many good friends over the last year who burned themselves out trying to reach Jedi to join me in the adventure. I still stand alone in my guild as the sole Jedi, and I look forward to this new system with great joy that my remaining friends can finally pursue something with structure combined with mystery and not "misery".

Question TH: What was the quote from in this story? I'm just now reaching beyond the films and reading the many books out there.

A village where the NPCs have a purpose, personality, give you quests and those quests yeild substantial rewards? What is there not to like about that?

Quest journal? Absolutely. Love to have all my SWG stuff nice and organized.... nothing in my real life is organized... but, my SWG stuff is.

•Do you like the idea of the Village of Aurilia?

Yes!! This village sounds wonderfully immersive and sounds like its going to a treat to undergo its quests, rather than a chore

•Do you like the idea of adding a quest journal?

YES!!! With all the people asking anymore how certain quests are done in SWG, a Quest journal is definately needed. I thought the way AC2 implemented theirs was very functional and easy to use.

My gawd, when I started typing my reply above I was on the first page. When I submitted the post I was on page 8. I really need to stop trying to think so deeply.

I like both the idea of this village and the quest journal as a means of helping is be aware of our progress. Will players be able to keep the journal as a sort of memento of the adventures?

I hesitate to say anything else without more info, but it sounds like a good start. To tell you the truth, Thunderheart, the most important thing to me is simply not bumping around in the dark when I'm trying to achieve something. I hope things will be clear enough here for anyone who's trying to get to Jedi.

Hey, you've got to go somewhere to become force-sensitive, so why not Aurillia? Seriously, this sounds like a lot of fun. I chose not to holo-grind in the hopes of participating in a story-based system, and it seems that's exactly what's going to happen. My only issue is that I don't want to wait anymore; when this publish goes live I want to start down the path immediately. I've been "playing the game" for months and months in anticipation of this publish. I've already put in the work, so I'd like to get a visit from that NPC right away!

To summarize, I (really) can't wait!

eta: I'm all about the quest journal, too!

So you mean people have to WAIT for some npc to come to them? Bad system in my mind, just make the entrance to it instanced and there we go.

Perhaps the village location could be known only to a few, hidden from all except those who know how to get to locations which are constantly being monitored or searched for?

Perhaps folk wishing to go there would need to be escorted by one of these people and sneaked past searching Imperials?

But I guess that would be too much like actual smuggling, and we can't have that now, can we?
