Regardless of who makes the game (which is SOE, not LucasArts) the fact of the matter is that the game is no where near what we were promised a year ago. It's buggy, incomplete, severly in need of balancing and lacks some meaningful reason to continue to play. We were then told, quite recently mind you, that they would fix most of this before JTL was due, and then suddenly told us "ah sorry, you gotta wait while we finish this expansion". That is simply not acceptable and I wont be staying around while they ignore their current/loyal(we'll see) customers in favour of new ones.
Both my accounts are cancelled because of this and I will not return until both GCW and Combat publishes are complete. For me, SWG is simply not worth my money until those are delivered.

They do not get the full story. Episode III people are making guesses on what is going to happen. And, hear about 10% of the story. Lucasfilms Ltd. is the most secretive of all yes they hire outside help but who develops most of the games Lucas Arts why it is their game. They get who they can get to get a game released quickly and efficiently. They do in fact hire outside help but Lucas Arts have worked with Activision and that is why Activision gets them to publish and distribute their games. I wish Hayden Blackman came online and tell us the real reason for the pushback but my best guess it is because of Battlefront. Not JTL. Look at the credits when Battlefront comes comes out.

Darkatem, they will be fixed hopefully sooner. Hope you do come back because I have great expectations for this game. I wish they said oh Lucas Arts Develoment team is working with this company to get Battlefronts released September 26. Then we woulld say ok let us wait. And Dark play Battlefronts it is going to be wirth every penny. By the way question is it me or do the graphics look like Shadows of the Empire.

I thought you said you'd quit last night if you didn't get an answer? Put your cancel button where your big, fat font is, my good man.

Dude, I understand you are trying to be positive, but some of us have just had our patience pushed to its limits. Too many broken promises has led to this. Most of us just want to see them stick to a plan and carry through with it. What is really important is that they sort out their priorities. The Combat Balance is much more important than the Force Sensitive Quests. I applaud you for being positive, though you did bash vet players a bit much. Keep in mind though that we have been positive and constructive for quite some time, eg. anyone who plays Ranger for a length of time. We can only take so much though.

AHHH! So much negativity. So many wanting to quit. Well...I think that this is a good thing.
1. The ground game as is, is playable.
2. The ground game as is, can be very fun.
3. The commitment of all devs as a unified force may mean faster and more complete results. I agree wholeheartedly.
4. Anything that gets me into space sooner is a good thing.
5. Those that quit because of a delay may be the type of player that doesnt promote a positive game environment anyways.People aren't quitting because of ONE delay. They are quitting because of NUMEROUS delays and no longer desire to be strung along in the hopes that they will get what they are promised.
6. When you weigh the amount of veteran players lost to the new players that will be added to the expansion, the result will be many less people that will complain about how things use to be or pointing out every mistake any official has made along the way.Until those new players learn for themselves how unbalanced this game is, which won't take too long.
7. Anything that delays the combatnerfbalance is a good thing.
8. Should be some nice house lots opening up.
9. It appears that the top issues of each combat professions will be addressed anyways so the broken specials and stuff may be fixed and we get JTL on time. Talking about having your cake and eating too!
10. Less spawn campers.
11. Those quitters have probably bought all my wares anyways, give me new blood!
12. If thousands of people quit it dramatically increases the faithfuls odds of getting into beta.
13. If thousands of vets quit it dramatically increases the value of our vet paintings.
Hmmm. Can't think of any more positive remarks for the schedule change but im sure someone will come up with some nice ones. I don't know why anyone sees this as a bad thing but I guess some may even one star me just to be negative. Seems thats all some people know.

Great Expectations
There are great expectations in the community for the upcoming Combat Balance and the Galactic Civil War revamp. These announced upcoming major features are pivotal to making the Galaxies experience more of a Star Wars experience. To deliver on these major features, we will need the full development team and re-assembling the team isn’t going to happen until after the upcoming Jump to Lightspeed expansion is shipped.
Delaying these critical features was not something we are doing for our convenience, but only to ensure they are done well. The team leadership has been discussing these changes, the future of SWG and the feedback from the community. Clearly the community wants us to do a better job at delivering the game service and this reinforced our decision to make sure we have adequate resources on each update to the game.
At the core of the discussions are our team goals. The team’s goals are to increase the quality of the service, make the game more fun and accessible and finally to make a much more intense Star Wars experience. In this, we agree with the community that our design and implementation process should continue to be improved and we want to assure our customers that it is our goal to exceed their expectations and make SWG the finest MMORPG ever.
Rather than continue to split the team’s forces and try to accomplish too many goals, we’re going to do a few things and do them right. Once the Jump To Lightspeed is complete, the team as a whole will be re-grouped. Then the combined team will accomplish the Combat Balance, the GCW and all the other improvements to the game.
What’s Ahead
To offset this very big announcement that will affect all of you, I will be immediately working with the correspondents and the community to develop a list of pre-combat balance fixes to get combat into a more enjoyable state. This will encompass many items planned for the Combat Balance, and will happen in a steady stream between now and JTL. The Combat Medic and Bounty Hunter changes that are coming in Publish 9.1 are the first of these efforts.
Between now and JTL is where I come in. Right out of the gate, I’ll be working with the community to develop plans for the Combat Balance and post them on the site; we’ll do a few features and I will continue to post updates. Later we will do the same for the GCW, the Squad Leader Revamp and all of the community issues on the table. In this, we can marry community expectations and development goals in a way that has never been done before with online games.
Our next major update, Publish 10 will bring us “The Jedi Trials”. Finishing the revamp of the Jedi profession is a big task. Being a Jedi is a big part of the Star Wars experience and it is a big game system. To become a Jedi, there needs to be a known path with mysterious quests, new NPC’s, new NPC behaviors, new places and all the little things that will make The Jedi Trials a publish to be excited about. To accomplish this, the team has expanded the scope of publish 10 so there is more design time and more testing time (hence the big changes).
Not long after The Jedi Trials, we’ll be focused on the JTL Beta and integrating Space with the ground game. Meshing the live service with JTL is a big challenge since it means it will be the first time anyone has ever integrated a complete RPG and action Space game before.
The Jump to Lightspeed is currently on track for a later October launch, which is a relatively short time away. Prior to that, we’ll be finishing up the Jedi Trials (Publish 10) and right after that, we will begin integrating the ground game with Space, start the JTL Beta Test and get on with making the game we all want to play. The good news is that the Jump to Lightspeed beta registration site is opening later this week
We appreciate your continued participation in the SWG community. Please continue to give us constructive feedback on our message boards as it helps us keep focused on your needs and priorities.
The original thread has been archived so community members can post their comments without feeling like it will be buried and never seen. You may reference the thread here.
I am done making idle threats. I am telling you right now, that I will CANCEL whenever WoW open beta comes out. Did you not read the hundreds of threads talking about how unbalanced PvP is, did you not read the hundreds of threads that said Jedi were overpowered? Did you not read the hundreds of threads by people who's last hope was the CB? No, you deleted them or were reading the Jedi forum listening to how "broken" Jedi is.
Publish 9 incapped the already the 1 health, 1 action, 1 mind, disease ridden body of thegame (I don't see anything that tells me publish 9 helped stopped hologrinding) And this, this deathblowed it and finished it off. The timer is running out.
If this sounds like a rant I'm sorry, but this just isn't right. JTL will not help you get subscribers back at this rate.

OMG!
I have been playing since launch. I love this game in spite of it's many many flaws, and I have always had the attitude that you guys were trying your best. I haven't decided on canceling yet, but I will say one thing, I will most certainly not sign up for another year in advance.
I just cannot believe after you posted that our replies would not get deleted, TH, you would allow this to happen.
You owe your new success to such forums and you of all people should know better. I don't know what it takes to do the work you do, but I can at least try and respect it. You guys couldtry to do the same.
Deleting that thread was very very uncool. People paid good money they have a right to be heard.
People can disagree, but they should at least listen to each other.
Shame on you.

He didn't delete the previous thread. It got moved into the Development Archive section. Out of the sight of fresh and new players, so they don't have to view this travesty first off and realize that, gee, maybe this wasn't such a hot purchase after all.
I originally bought the game to be a smuggler. Now I'm just a guy who permanently buffs weapons. My other abilities are useless and I can't sell any wares until I'm a Master, unless its to new players who don't know any better. Combat is broken, the frickin' Galactic Economy is broken. And JTLS promises me no enhancements to the profession I wanted to play out of the box. Fix the original game, because JTLS offers me nothing.
