Alright, im not exactly sure how this COULD work. But for musicians specifically, I feel that bands should have to put on an actual concert, which would be an active process. (or a very intense macro set-up). Id like for them to have to play songs that have a begining, a middle, and an end, with a nice flow in the middle.

Now, most of these missions should be to entertain a fairly large GROUP of NPCs. Maybe a bunch of raiders out in a camp somewhere, or at the theater, or cantina, or a government building or even a PA hall or player city hall. (having mayor generated entertainment missions would be GREAT). The missions should be for like a 5 song set or something like that, and the minimum song is like 3 minutes. based on their performance it should affect the happiness of the crowd or whatever, and therefore, their tips.

Another thing id like to throw out, is that politician missions should be included in this particular project. id like to see a sim-city styled mini game for politicians to be playing with their cities as far as managing natural disasters or crisis (and getting paid in planetary government aid) or maybe having to fly to rori to negotiate with a mining guild leader which, if sucessful, gives everyone in their town the mineral rich ability for a week for free or whatever. things like that could be great, and fit in here, IMO.

I certainly think the posts recommending item rewards (bright flashyclothes, furniture, jewelry, new songs/dances, new looks for image designers) are spot on. Cash is good but 6.5k for a dance mission? Only if you want to see tons of people pick up novice entertainer to make money and then drop it again .... it's not really viable. On the other hand, there are some Dant imp missions that pay out fairly obscene amounts, although you can only do them once. A few one-off high paying delivery missions for entertainers wouldn't go amiss.

On the ranger board there is a plea for mission terminals in the top tents. Entertainer mission terminal in the camp to set up PC missions to get entertainers out into the field is a great idea, I think.

The other idea worth repeating is of gaining information whilst dancing (covert) in a faction base. Entertainers are known gossips, a mission sending them to go listen and report back on what they heard would fit right in.

Image designers are harder to deal with, maybe turn the idea on it's head: You want to dance for Jabba? Well, he's put out a request for a dancer with blue eyes. Get your eyes done and you can audition.

Using the scout mission concept is a possibility too: change the hairstyle of 20 pc's and you'll get your reward.

Idea from left field, "Simon Says" missions where the npc tells you which flourish to use and you hit that flourish to continue, i.e. it's not macroable. You could also do something similar to the smuggling slicing interface which enhances buff time / buff / would healing / whatever to encourage people to stay at the keyboard.

May I interject something here....I am a Master Dancer. It was my first profession I pursued (Began SWG Thanksgiving Weekend) and achieved it in January (NO AFK DANCING AT ALL). I love performing for, visiting with and learning all sorts of secrets from my customers. I own the Theater in my player city....ummm..could we please see about making the STAGE portion of the theater Healable please??? Seems pointless to have a stage when I cannot heal BF or Mind while performing on it. Instead I have to cram customers in the litttttttle bitty dressing room in the back. If it is not meant to be a healing facility in the game, then why make a Master Dancer or Musician be the only one able to place it? Also, can we PLEASE do something to discourage AFK performers in the CANTINA?? hehe..such annoying pests to my work area..and the spam for HEAL ME please, is such a pain Thank you for all your hard work in making this such a wonderful world we live in!

I would like to see entertainers, musicians, and dancers getting sent to player city cantinas and theaters for missions on a regular basis. This would bring more life to player cities. To get the performers to take the missions rather than going afk in a cantina in theed or coronet will take several things. First, you will need to make the payout high enough to get their attention. Second, you should include a way for them to earn a worthwhile ammount of xp on the missions.

thats hologrinders not entertainers...

on this quest ....

can we get more information? the notes posted were rather light... i think really the information spreading/ gathering and use with smugglers ect is truely the way to add ton's of content for many of the players... Many players complain about lack of content and most of what is added keeps groups seperated and not very interdependant.... adding missions for entertainers that make people more interdependant helps everyone... not just ours but more and more proffessions quests/ missions ect should be like this. That will add a lot of content in its own right. The more "caves" you add where someone goes down a hole the "less content" you are really adding... on the other hand if you make people "bump into" each other all the time, you've added the same amount of content and donet he same amount of work but set it up so the players will also take the ball and run thus creating X2 the content you did the work for... PLEASE PLEASE consider doing this... it would help smugglers, the gcw, citys, BH's, merchants, artisans and who knows who else. You get pulled from all over by all proffessions why not use your work and time the most effectivly by creating quests that help promote interdependancy from all aspects thus doing work on 5 or 10 or 20 proffessions at once vs one or two.

I'd like to see something actually happen when I do a dance mission. THe holocorn says that you have to perform for someone, but you never talk to anyone. A mix of what the devilery missions are like would be nice. Say you have to talk to someone at the venue before you perform, a stage hand, manager, bar tender, etc. Then said NPC would also watch you. I got bored when I tried doing some dance missions in far off places cause I was the only one there and there's no way to know how much longer you have to dance there. I've had some that never paid out (I was dancing in a cantina for 3 hours without finishing the mission). Perhaps a timer appears on the screen once you enter the cantina/hotel and starts to count down when you start dancing?

Other than that there are lots of good ideas here. I like the idea of a convention where people start to show up when you start dancing. Would make for some interesting entertainment for the dancer.

and how about instanced missions? Someone mentioned Jabb's Palace (ok lots did). There could be an instanced mission Where a group of performers entertain the slug, somewhere other than his palace, like on the sail barge. The group would have an hour to explore the barge and then entertain his fatness. Also points could be given for what is used to perform with: dance, clothes, pets, and weapons. A dancer can perform with all three. I dance ocasionally with 2 pets, a droid, and a ryyk blade (I'm a fencer/ch/ with a bit of dancer). Each of these (dance, clothes, pets, weapons) should have an effect on the Hutts mood. (and if you don't thing a pet can dance with you try using one of the formation commands on it and then dance). The rewards could be a badge, clothes, instruments, objects to dance with, pets,a dancing partner or body guard (nuetral NPC pet like a stormtrooper), and perhaps the opportunity to perform at his Palance and heal bf and mind while in the throne room, etc. Wow the more I think about it the more I write. Hehehe, this could be fun.

that's all for now.

Before adding new adventure content to Entertainer professions, please fix the problem with player-controlled pets. Creatures were rebalanced back in Nov/Dec with the assumption that all other classes would be rebalanced in short order. Now we know differently. Please revert pets to their pre-December combat effectiveness before adding additional game content. It should be a simple fix; I'm sure entertainers would like to live in a universe that "works" and has great content for them.

I am a master dancer, but this recomendation is for All entertiners. I am dispointed becouse now that there are player cities all over many planets, and with them player cantinas, there is no incentive or *need* for players to visit them. Our primary clintel are the Combat type who require healing of there Battle Fatige or Mind pool "Buffs" before engaging in combat. Most of these combat types go to Lok, Dathmir, and Dantooine for the tougher missions that bring them more money and XP. The problem now is that at the starport supporting outposts on these planets have both mission terminals and cantina's or taverns. All combat players *need* to do is hop off the shuttle, walk over to the cantina, get there mind buffs from a dancer and action and health buffs from a doc, and grab a mission and go. When they finnish the mission they come back and "rince and repeat". There is no need for them to go to a player city to get healed in a player cantina or take missions from a player city's mission terminals.

My recomendation, therefor is the following:

1. Take away the cantina's and the mission terminals from the outposts on the "adventure" planets such as Lok and Dantooine.

This will force a need for Combat players to find a PLAYER city for (ENTERTAINER)healing and to recieve their missions. This will Boost the ecomomy and cause there to be an actual purpose for player cities and player CANTINAS.

2. Have ENTERTAINER mission terminals and/or QUESTS direct the musician or dancer to a PLAYER CANTINA.

I understand this will require a NPC at the cantina, but what would it hurt to have a NPC patrion come with every PLAYER CANTINA when it is built. This would also add to the mission becouse there would be a chance to have a real live audiance in addition to the NPC being performed for as part of the mission.

I think these two ideas, in combination would make the entertainer missions, quests, and profession as a whole a lot more enjoyable and rewarding. I also believe it would help ad to the interdependent nature for which the game was disighned.

Forgive me if this has been suggested prior to this post:

I was on test center a few days ago and noticed that the Image Designer vendor areas have been added to cities. Nice touch! This made me think about a couple of things.

First, I haven't seen very many Image Desginers running around in my 2 months of SWG. Maybe 2 that chose to display their profession flag. Does this profession need more appeal? More interaction with other professions? Here's a solution:

A new quest type for smugglers! Recon, or whatever you want to call it. In order to complete his mission, the smuggler must have his appearance temporarily or permanently altered by an Image Designer or Entertainer, be it an NPC or a PC. The better the Face Form skills thedesigner has, the better the chance that the smuggler will succeed in his mission. Provide Image Designers witha new schematic for temporary alterations to a PC. This alterations fade over time, so the smuggler must achieve his goal before the effects wear off. Of course, permanent alterations will be harder to see through, and stand a better chance for success.

I think the whole idea of playing to a NPC is lame..the current ones do not work and they havent fixed them yet so why bring on more headaches? Before I write my idea let it be known Im not a super-gamer so I dont know if something like this could be done..

Instead of playing to a NPC why not make a reward system based on experience? Kind of like faction points..You have to earn a certain amount of points and then "cash" them in for rewards(ie new songs new instruments) Like the amount of buffs you perform earns you say 20 points(10 buffs=20 points 1000 points=special outfit..etc)Or points of interest that would give you points also, as in special theaters where you perform , you would have to travel and perform to earn the points..I guess what Im trying to say is since xp and app points can be tracked why not performance xp? The longer you play your character, the better the rewards, it seems to me that NPC missions get old after youve done them once . A terminal perhaps could be used where you exchange your performance points for the rewards.Make these items non-transferable. I mean I think it would be neat to walk into a cantina and see a fellow entertainer with a special reward. you would know that the player worked hard to achieve it . I dont know..just a thought. I mean I am capped on all my healing xp and app so I dont see anything ticking away..This would keep me in a cantina longer knowing that I was still earning xp for SOMETHING , instead of just waiting for someone ....anyone to walk in..

Ive always thought it strange that image designers are only able to change the images of people... why not give them the ability to also do more of an interior decorator sort of function? i realize it would be a major rework for them, but most people i know dont want to simpoly redecorate people... it would be nice if image designers also had the ability to produce furniture customization kits that could change the color of furniture for a couple weeks. give image designers the ability to craft artwork, be it random statues or even paintings... we have all seen those paintings hanging up some places, and i dont know even if they are craftable right now, but it seems to me that image designers would be the producers of art and such... and it seems like it wouldnt be too difficult for some of the screenshots of the day to be cleaned up a little bit and then thrown into the game as craftable paintings... let it be so that you make the frame, make the picture and then those are your components along with a token amount of metal for the thing it is hung by...

image designers seem kind of useless now, and i think it would be nice if they got all of their current skills plus the ability to design the image of buildings too... paintings, tapestries, statues, artwork, furniture customization kits, etc. maybe it would bring some life to the rarest profession in the game.
