Since most of the posts I see are combat related, how about a nice change. I've been playing since launch and my guild was in existance since beta. We are mostly a crafting guild and as such, we have always dealt with a specific problem........resources. I know some people have gotten frustrated with the frequency of some resources spawning (how long was it before gallinore gems spawned on azahi??), but what I am suggesting deals with existing resources. Since the Star Wars era is definately post-industrial (on the most part that is), why is there not a source of ore refinement. What I'm suggesting is a new elite artisan profession--Mining Engineer. It can be based from Survey IV (with the standard requisite survey xp to get novice) with 4 tiers. One tier will continue with survey, increasing yield and range along the same lines survey 1-4 did in artisan. The other three boxes will deal with mining and refinement. I suggest having 1 tier for minerals, 1 for chems and 1 for gas (as a master chef, it pains me to not have flora, fauna and water on there,....but that would require genetic engineering....at least on the flora and fauna portion). Anyways, the bonuses of each box would be based on one of two things. The first is modifiying the harvesting ability of the same type harvestor (like how a master merchant gets a 20% discount on maintenance fees, do a percentage with each box, not to exceed 20-25% by master). So, a master ME can put out a medium 10BER mineral/chemical/gas and have it extract at BER12-12.5. The other modifier is an actual refinement process. Can have a tool at novice (1 for each type) that will allow refinement of any of the stats (use the same rule as experimentation as crafting, since this is pretty much what the ME will be doing) and put in a limit on how much can be done at a time (1k/2k/5k/10k/25k per box including master--). I think this would be a benefit because: 1) there are a lot of vendors that do nothing but sell bulk resources, why not give them an additional job to help boost sales, and 2) it will benefit AS/WS/AT/DE's when the resource generator goes through a month-long session of <=300 stat resources. Now, as far as sales goes, that will be up to the individual and most likely there will be price gouging (like there isn't enough already with the other artisan elite profs). Just thought I'd suggest something that I wouldn't mind playing with to keep my attention with the game.

Some good Ideas here. Not perfect, but good. I like the idea of refinement, but I think it would be very difficult considering now al yufwiggi-wiggi-buu-buu Carbonate Ore is not all the same. This would cause some problems I think. Maybe refining it could change it to another material of the same type. So if you have Trisani Duralloy steel, but you want to increase the Maleability, you could do so and change it to Eseahoma Duralloy Steel. This way there isn't multiple versions of Trisani out there.

Love the idea about Harv tweaking though, and I think it would work.

I don't like the tree concept though. I would think maybe one branch could be the harv tweaking, one to increase survey even more, then I don't know about the other two.

A whole other idea, but, mainly all houses have a predefined wall, floot and ceiling colour. My idea was to be able to give the wall a shader, by selecting the wall and selecting a RGB colour so we can paint our walls! Would bring much more variaty to the game. Imagine a cantina called "da sixties", would be much more sixties if you can turn a wall baby blue, another one pink and a third yellow.

Just an idea.. Didn't know where else to post it.

I was just coming here to post the same thing. Orange walls, orange floor, orange curtains... does only orange dye exist on Naboo - no because tailors can make different colored clothes! Give architects the ability to make the floors, walls, and curtains different colors, or put it on a slider on the house control panel so the owner can change them to what they like. Tailors can color their items, armorsmiths can do it, droid engineers can do it... even master artisans can make the kits for vehicles. Please rescue me from the 1970's rust craze!

What.... did the devs forget that pistoleers are broken, do they know that bodyshot 3 does not even do any more damage than bodyshot 2 and do they know stopping shot never works and do they know that everything is broken in the pistoleer tree. Yet the devs want to add something ive always wanted, but wished they would do it after they fix our tree and the thing that i wanted the most was announced to us pistoleers and that is DUAL WIELDING, but please please fix the broken abilities that dont work.

Is there any way to have Faction missions, such as "escort missions" where opposing faction members or bounty hunters can get a mission at the same time to oppose your mission?

For Example I an Imperial who is assinged to go to (lest just say) Bestine and find a certaine NPC or NPC convoy to escort from Bestine ot Mos Espa. Then for the next 10 minutes have a mission appear on a Rebel or Bounty Hunter terminal telling them of the convoy and giving them a mission to kill the mark from the convoy i am assinged to protect. I thing the threat of a PvP encounter would make the escort/destroy missions more exciting. Never knowing weather or not you will have to face a Player opponet.

is that even possibe? any thoughts?

Just some random thoughts/ideas:

In the end, all you have is stuff.....

I don't really like how a newbie who has been playing for a week-week and a half can dominate a veteran, someone who has been playing for six months or more.I was thinking it would be cool to go further in some (if not all) of the skill trees. For instance, getting the four skills you need in brawler to get apprentice Swordsman, master Swordsman, and then another tree after that (Kinda like Jedi). But the special thing about the third tree is that when you master it, you get to keep some of the defense(or other) modsin that tree, this will give you incentive to master profs when the Jedi quests come out.

I also think that they need to make Jedi stronger. I've heard some great ideas on the Jedi boards. Innate toughness, foraging for crystals (non-forcers have no reason at all to have them, and I hate seeing people stand in one place for twelve hours killing low level NPC's to get them), defense mods, etc. I think, if you can't give them innate toughness, that it would be cool to give Jedi the ability to craft their own clothes, but give them the properties of armor tht would only "activate" for people that are force sensitive, that way non-forcers get no advantage to wearing it. Oh, reguarding the Lightsabers. Sabers doing kinetic damage is simply rediculous, you need to come out with a new damage type, maybe laser, since I've heard people (in videogames at least) call them "Laser swords". Adding a new tree in Jedi would be kinda cool too, that way you can add a branch that is non combative. If there is one thing holo grinding has tought me, it's that crafting (some anyway) can be fun. Sorry about not putting the Jedi part in the Jedi section, but if anyone wants to, please do. I'll probably have more later. Ta.....

Ok here it is real simple-----Wanna keep us going and not get burned out...?

Add post-master lvl's----For instance

Once you get to master you can quest for more skills lvls.

I.e. A master bounty hunter has killed and killed ----but ok low lv jedi's and hard targets just have become repetative. How about an MBH quest where you get loot like oh I dont know pieces of mandalorian armor. Ok, how about super speeders, how about training with trainers that can teach you skills that arent on the skill tree----Armed knockout (using weapon to melee in close combat)----Tumble evade(backflips and all that jazz). Look at the way obi wan had trouble with fett. A jedi master would dispose of a mbh in the game much faster than that.

I would also like to see more people with the ability get AS, WS, Chef and Dr. along with combat profession. You get a certain amount of points toward combat skills and a certain amount to non-combat points. That being we will have people that have the skills and not dedicating there whole game play to being a droid engineer or a doctor. This, in my opinion would make people more interested in playing the game because you just wouldnt stop at master----you would redefine master.

Thats exactly what i meant. People can never stop improving so why impose such heavy restricitions in SWG. Also can i agree with Omega 1 about his mining engineer suggestion and i am glad someone has finally suggested this. Everyone has the ability to access resources but the mining engineer should be able to get very high quality resources in large quantities. Also, why is there no form of stockmarket in this game. You could invest your credits into companies and you could either make lots of money or face losing it. Also, there should be some sort of interestfor the money in the bank. All it does is sit there, and most banks today givesyou some form of interest on you money. Why not give u say 5% of you money per week extra, and this would increase withthe more money you put in. The stockmarket would function similar to this, exceptit would be more high-risk.

I was out riding in my T-34 landspeeder last night, and the same though hit me again: it would be great to have an uber babe in the passenger seat! Why not allow a passenger in the second seat of the T-34 ? No combat allowed, a "/consent" needed before a person can get in. Hey, even in the movies the T-34 carried TWO people.

Anybody second the motion?

Well seeing that Imperials have several types of factional helmets, how about giving us rebels OUR flight helmets?

X-wing Fighter Helmet, B-wing Fighter Helmet, A-Wing Fighter Helmet, and Y-wing Fighter Helmet.

Each one of these are different and would make for a nice touch to the rebel faction perks.

Not sure how often this issue may come up, but...

How about increasing the stack limits on resource stacks.. currently at 100k, lets add a zero and make each stack hold 1 mill. consider the reduction in database load this would cause.

and fixing factory output to come out in a single crate instead of mulitple crates of 7-50

Most items of a large run in a factory comes out in multiple crates, if this was changed to allow anything produced to show up as a 1000 piece crate, this could reduce the load on the database immensly also.

for example, Blaster power handlers get output in crates of 25. If this change were to happen, then instead of 40 crates of 25, you would have one crate of 1000. reducing database load immensely.
