Thread: AT-ST changes on Test Center
Just for the record, I (and I think most Imps from what I've read) aren't upset that the ATST isn't invincible. They aren't upset that it means that they can't solo kryat's or farm holocrons. Take those things out, sure. you're right, it screws up the game. I am frustrated because 10kFP (for humans) takes A LONG TIME to earn when you're not just picking them up from FP terms on test. A LONG LONG time of running pointless, boring FP missions. Sure, rebel troopers may be weak compared to it. But they only cost like 400FP (I assume, I know ST Commando's only cost like 400FP). For 400FP I wouldn't MIND so much if it got killed (and haven't in the past). I'll go earn another one, you (as a rebel) and I can have fun fighting it, then when it dies I won't be all pissed. But at 10kFP, there's no way I'm not gonna be royally pissed off and in a bad mood when it gets toasted. Imagine if everytime your rancor died you "lost" your Master CH cert and had to re-earn it from Novice CH?
Make all Faction Pets easier to get and people will be running around fighting the GCW a whole lot more often.
"First of all, I am sure this flamethrower is not from WWII. Like all weapons in this game, it is futuristic and probably advanced. I am sure that the fuel is not just a midly flamable "gas" that gets shot out with a gentle burst. In the age of light speed travel and battle stations the size of moons, it is not much of a stretch to imagine some super heated, high temp burning fuel that is hot enough to burn metal/mineral."
Your own statement says it all. In this futuristic world we all play in the powers that be would not have developed some sort of defense against such attacks on expensive pieces of war equipment? Such as high resistance to heat based attacks on a metal? The metal would get hot sure but no hand held weapon should generate enough heat to turn the armor into goo. It would kill the person using the weapon.
I stated in an eairlier post that that acid based DOT's should be the bane of AT-ST's. Sombody else stated that blast damage should be. These two combos should be the most effective against any armored scouting vehicle. The only ones wanting it to be invulnrable are imps but I think that is one thing we do agree on..they should not be.

PLEASE JUST TAKE THE **edit** AT-ST OUT OF THE GAME IF IT'S GOING TO BE USELESS! IT'S JUST A FACTION POINT SINK POST PATCH, YOU'LL SEE LESS AND LESS IMPERIALS, YOU JUST SCREWED THE GAME.
In that case, they should just do the same thing to the Droid Engineer profession.JusttakeDE out of the game and make droids available fromNPC vendors. As it stands now, droids are about as useless to the general player populace as the AT-ST will be.

OMG I agree with a imp??!?!
some call hell and check the temperature!!
But really though, I cant think of why someone show off there IQ like that, did they think it would serve a purpse?
I personally dont like AT-ST, I think they are over powered, its one reason i dont PVP, because I know when I kill an Imp, 20 mins later, a group of Imps with AT-ST's come hunting. so really whats the point.
now as for PVE, it disgusts me even more, I see 20 people in a group killing a krayt, and one guy with 3 AT-ST's going hey bud got my 10 pearl quota for the day.
I think the nerf bat is swinging a bit harsh, but soo many idiot children are causing this because they are over abusing the problem.
If you are going to do this then we need a way to HEAL THEM. Otherwise no will use them at all ...
Oh wait ... that is what you want anyways.
Awesome awesome changes.
Finally these uber dood Imps will no longer be able to farm krayts.
Thank you Devs!
cool idea, but if you do that you should give the rebels something too, the rebels don't have this powerful vehicles in the films, but they have some...so you can givethem something too

Thunderheart,
Are there any long term plans to remove the AT-ST as pet all together and implement them as Player Driven vehicles?
In my opinion, this would be much more fun, and I think Imperial players would get a kick out of blowing Rebels off their speeders. Just a thought, vehicle combat would be really fun.
Amen!
In time, thats the plan, but there are other things to get done first.
Ill be back to go through this thread some more later today, but the team is swamped getting the vehicle publish polished up at the moment...
I looked forward to hearing your feedback.
Here i is. Your a moron. The developers are morons. Its been said time and time again what the problem is and like idiots you skip over it. Thanks. Moron.

You sit there and cry that commandos chew up the at-st, and that is why you are mad, but the reality of it is you are really mad about not being able to solo frickin Krayt dragons and farm holocrons.
If you are going to complain, at least be honest with it. Just tell everyone you think that soloing creatures that where not meant to be solo'ed, and farming holocrons with the most powerful pet in the game that requires no certification is fair.
Just yell....
I want the most powerful pet in the game without spending any skill points so I can solo Krayts and farm holocrons!!
It is not fair that I wont be able to do that any more.
Ohh, and the AT-ST is a useless faction pet? What does that make the rebel troopers?
Everyone can now only pull out one faction pet. At least your ONE pet is 1000 times better than the rebels. Shut up and be thankful, bunch of greedy whiners.
Oh, so Imperials are the only ones that can solo Krayt dragons or farm Holocrons?
Two words: Graul Maulers.
And it's not like we need to have any serious type of tanks to farm the Holocrons -- we can get them off of doing faction missions.
Just because you think you know the real reason we're all upset does not mean that you're correct. Don't assume that every Imperial here is interested in the same things you are interested in. I'm willing to bet that over 50% of the people with AT-STs do not use them to farm Krayts or FS NPCs; in reality, most of us probably use them as a general combat aid, and more specifically faction missions.
I myself have only on 3 occassions used my AT-ST to "farm" Krayts, and I can tell you that if I didn't have the capabilities of a Master Commando, my AT-ST would have been destroyed several times over.
(1) I agree with taking away the ability to use 3 faction pets at once.
(2) There should be bonuses in Squad Leader that allow them to use more faction pets just as Creature Handlers get bonuses allowing them to use more creatures.
(3) If faction pets are limited to pvp only they should have permanent death removed and be able to be healed when not engaged in combat. Currently, most are unwilling to risk an AT-ST in pvp because the risk of doing so far outweighs the reward.
(4) Making faction pets pvp-only could cause hardship to many who are not Creature Handlers since creature handlers often stick to soloing or just take one or two people with them and leave everyone else with no options for damage-absorbers.
(5) I see no reason why total number of faction pets a player can have in their datapad should decrease. The ability to have more out at once is the real issue.
(6) It would be interesting to try improving something to balance it rather than nerfing the other thing involved.
(7) A realistic reason why faction pets would engage in pve: Doing so aids in the training of troops and the acquisition of resources to aid in the war effort. The quality of training and equipment provided to an army directly affects their chances of victory. If a soldier observes theirleader being attacked, they will join the battle to save their comrade even if the attackers were not designated by command as targets.
The Imps don't want things to be balanced and even and fun. They want to stomp all over the galaxy with their Uber killing machines, camping Krayts and looking for TEF'd rebels. They want to be all powerful, and any time you make them on a lvl playing field with us, they whine. Guess what IMPS? You can be a commando too. So what do we have to compare to an AT ST ? Graul Mauler? That requires fairly high lvl CH skills. We have nothing you don't have. Just because your commandos don't have AT ST's to shoot at doesn't make ours any more special.
And for the record AT-ST's are not remote-controlled robots. They're driven by a person who is presumably killed by the flame damage.
Thunderheart,
With the changes being impliment to at-st's, is cost going to be reduced? If so, will those that have current at-st's be able to turn them in for a refund at the cost they paid for?
