I showed this image to my wife, I didn't tell her what it was before hand. She asked if they were adding Drunken Tin Man as a playable character.

Why give wookies armor? Why not give the Dosh gloves and boots they can wear now too? I've never made an article of clothing before in my life, but I must say I don't believe it would be hard to only put in three fingers and toes instead of five. Each species has it's restrictions, why not keep it that way?

WoW! thats sweet armor! While the helmet and arm stuff makes the upper part look slighly insectlike, it sill looks like its made from natural elements like the bands are made from bamboo and the rest are made from pieces of bone/hide and a couple pieces of metal.


Devs, did you use a samurai suit as a model? it does look reminescent of one and good job devs!!

Ok guys, I'm going to go thru this in the simplest way I can think of. We'll compare a health bar of 1000 with 80% comp armor protecting it to try to figure out exactly how much of a stat increase Wookies would need to be equal.


Say a hit against this 1000 health bar would take away 10 points of damage. 80% of it is absorbed by armor, so that means only 2 points will get through. So, how big would a Wookie's health bar need to be to equal the protection given by this armor? Do the math! It's 2 * 5 = 10, so the Wookie's health bar would have to be 1000 * 5 = 5000 health! That's how much they'd need to be on an equal plane! They don't come NEAR that! Best they can hope for is maybe 1300, right?


What does that equate to? 1000 * x = 1300... x = 1.3. So take that original hit, 10 = 1.3 * y. y = 7.7. So, the wookie's stats are like having a protection of what? 10 - 7.7 = 2.3


THAT'S 23% PROTECTION FROM STATS VERSUS 80% PROTECTION WITH COMP ARMOR!


And that's unbuffed! Do you realize how bad it gets when buffs are taken into account? That means a wook would need a 15000 HAM to equal a 3000 HAM 80% comp armored toon. 3000 * x = 3300, x = 1.1, 10 = 1.1 * y, y = 9.1, 10 - 9.1 = 0.9


BUFFED, A WOOKIE'S STAT BONUS AMOUNTS TO A 9% PROTECTION VERSUS THAT SAME 80% PROTECTION A BUFFED, COMP ARMORED PERSON GETS!


I hope that makes the problem CRYSTAL clear to you.




Nicely worked out Yec, but I doubt it will sink in. Probably because it's too complicated a concept for them to grasp. Most of them just think, wow, more HAM, and don't bother to work out the utility. In fact one guy had the notion that utility counts for nothing - as in, not matter how useless something is, the fact it's there is brilliant. Good work eh?

Wookies do need armor and I'm glad SWG finally started on some, but I hope Q is right and they bring out more than this, I'm still chuckling at that XXXXL military bucket helmet and that rediculous mouth guard.

After reading the rest of the topic, I agree that it does look like the scarecrow hehehe


but seriously, if they keep the asian style, I'm good with it, all they need to do is to make it look like its MEANT to protect against weapons, now that I think about it, that armor looks like about all it protects you from is twigs and branches in your way as you run theorugh the forest of Kashyykk.


Great job Devs, now keep it up!. Also guys, this is CONCEPT art like many ppl said and it will look quite different in game.

Yec, your mind is far too simple to grasp the full concept of this game also, so i'd watch what insults i start hurling around, since you do not take into account the fact that a wookiee who is probably in combat if he's getting shot at which probably means he's firing back, so with his boosted secondaries and no encumbrance from his armor, the wookiee can probably spam twice as many, if not more specials than the other race who is actually doing just as much damage to himself by doing a special as he is to the wookiee.

Well when I first saw it I laughed. I thought back to the good old days when I was playing Final Fantasy 1 on the nintendo and I would go in and buy my starting set of wooden armor. Wondering what wooden armor looked like.


Honestly as far as the art goes it doesn't look like a wookie in there, maybe Robin Williams but not 7' of hair, muscle and rage. It does have a mild eastern theme but I hate the helmet. It's alright I'm a rifleman I won't wear the helmet.
