Thread: Weekly Roundtable Discussion (Week Ending 3-29-04)

This is sort of related to the house discussion: how about either moving crates or a "moving" option on the house maintenance panel? This would allow a player who moves his home to avoid multiple trips to a bank and back, moving items around. Perhaps a "moving crate" could be crafted that could hold 1 lot's worth of items but only count as 1 item in inventory. Maybe it could only be opened inside the players declared, fully paid-up and placed house/guild hall/whatever and only have 1 full "use" in a move.

Or have a radial menu option to "move" house instead of destroying it. This would create a snapshot of all of the items in the house and their locations, so the items move with the deed and reappear with the rebuilt house. Those of us who work hard and long to decorate loathe moving (at least I do). Any chance of either of these options?

On another note (pun intended), I agree with the earlier statements about more music and sounds. I especially would like to see the speeder sound fx updated to reflect movie accuracy. The speeder bike, for example, sounds nothing like the bikes in RotJ.

Thanks for listening.

Yet again... Do not completely lock a person out of taking any quests.

I keep getting the "above your level" thing, yet I'm MCH, I could easily completeany mission in this game, and have. But now the Lady Valarian missions, even the first lady I'm supposed to talk to, won't let me do them. The Scythe Schematic guy also locks me out.

Would be much better to give a warningthat the NPC thinks we're too low a level, but still let us continue on and accept the mission should we so decide. But don'tlock us out of the missions completely..

Can we get an answer on this? There have been many posts on this posted by lots of peopleever since the quest lock outs started.

Still no answer about this, I know thatmost people don't care about it, becausemost people can get the missions with no problem and you at SOE may feel that is "good enough".. But for those of us who cannot get these missions, which have cool rewards BTW, it is really very troublesome to be denied, even tho most of us are more than capable of completing the mission.

Weapon repair has been significantly changed since the last patch, either by bug or design. As reported and verified on the weaponsmith forum, vitually all recent repairs - using +99% tools - are reducing weapon max condition.

Can we please get a comment on this issue ?

Please, and I think the entire community is begging you along with me, fix and revamp Rangers. Please give us the specific things we were promised in August 7 months ago. Please make our profession worth the skill points it requires. Please look at our forum and see the hours of detailed, and positive, work we have assembled together.

After reading JustG's outline, I was so happy to see Squad Leaders finally having the revamp they deserve scheduled to come in publish 10 or 11. They need it, and badly. But so do we, the only viable and useful things we can do, are barely much more than Scouts can do now, and really Scouts are in desperate need too of attention. I can think of few other professions that have had promises made to them, that have gone this long without attention.

Please Thunderheart, please look into this. We have had requests on the table, promises given, for 6 to 7 months now and seen nothing in return. And this is from a class that was mostly empty to begin with. Thunderheart, I know you say that the devs are busy and that we just have to be patient. But, Thunderheart, we have not had one true significant change or addition to our class since before you ever even got your position.

We have been patient, our Correspondants have pooled hundreds of concise points, and detailed every single bug, issue, andrequest from the entire Ranger community. But, its been 6 months TH, and the only thing that has been added since then is Milking. Picture yourself in our position TH, and really, honestly think if you would be happy in our position to.

I have been a Ranger since the day this game went live and a scout in Beta, please, I personally am begging you, see that we get fixed.

I did master ranger for a little bit for my second holo profession and by far the coolest thing about the profession was /areatrack. That was just amazing to be able to know what creatures are around you, especially if you're looking for a certain one. Nowunfortunately that particular abilityis a bit bugged though since it won't detect stuff that hasn't spawned in yet for whatever reason. I'd love to see that fixed so that the rangers out there could have consistent success with that instead of reporting to their hunting party that "there are no creatures within 500m" and then *poof* mutant rancors spawn on top of you.. not a fun time I might add.. those rancors are grumpy. Plus, it makes the rangers look like they don't know what they're doing when in reality, their cool ability just doesn't work like it should. Please fix that for them.

Also, I think adding a performer stage to the master ranger upper level camp would be a great addition and something that no one else has. When you're on the dangerous worlds and you happen to rack up some battle fatigue due to the baddies out there, it would be awesome to have the master ranger pull out his fancy hotel-like camp that had a performer stage built in. Plus, as a novice dancer back in beta.. it sure would have been a refreshing change to dance somewhere else than a cantina or a house.

I alsothink an added bonus to harvesting would be nice for the rangers since they are the specialists out in the field and would hopefully have an increased knowledge of how to harvest.. maybe even give the master rangers double harvesting abilities over others. I just would like to see something given to this profession to make the cool things work and maybe give it something no one else has. There really aren't that many rangers left. Save the rangers.. we need them!

FIX ARMOR HOLES! I can't stand having a full suit of armor on and getting hit for full damage just because I am wearing a backpack. Ridiculous. I am a master doc/master cm so I NEED a backpack.

It's just not right that if 5 swoops are all parked on top of each other I have to click on each to find mine.

I think this is what vehicle customization is meant to solve. Yeah, it's annoying having to carry around custom kits when it runs out so quickly, but it'll let you recognize your speeder at a glance.

I seems to me that this would be a good balance. I have not heard a better suggestion.

This would be "a good thing".

It is a good thing, but it is a double edged sword. The main reason we keep these houses on the server is best demonstrated in the following example:

What happens to your character when you have to cancel your subsciption for a month?

I have a baby that is going to be born in April (Woohoo! 1st born!) I am pretty sure that I won't have the time to devote to SWG for a few months until the baby sleeps through the night, so I am canceling my subscription at the end of the month.

I plan on coming back in a few months... so I have a few questions:

  1. Does my character get deleted? Or can I come back in a few months and pick up where I left off?

  2. What happens to my house? If I pay enough maintinance will it stay in existance? Or will be be deleted after a certain amount of time?

I am really going to miss SWG, but real-life takes priority. I am will be looking forward to returning in several months time and would really like to keep the character and house I have worked so hard to build up.

Congratulations on your newborn

I just confirmed the answers and here is how it works:

Off the top, we don't guarantee that things won't be deleted. So far, characters and houseshavent been deleted and we have no plans on deleting characters/houses, but if something happens in the future and we need to, they will be deleted. Again, this isn't an absolute guarantee, but you should be fine. With that being said, here is how it works:

1. When you unsubscribe, don't delete your character manually. When you re-subscribe, it should be there.

2. Put a bunch of cash in your house to cover maintenance. When you re-subscribe, it should be there.

(Thats the reason houses with maintenance are left on servers - - to cover these types of situations.)

Just a question -

The issue is, and has seemingly been covered up, it that on death, Armor chestplates have been massively degrading on condition, even when insured. Usually, insured items were supposed to degrade 1% if insured, I thought, and 5% if not. Well, we are talking at least 10-15% for INSURED Armor Chestplates.

Death-Decay was removed, not usage decay. If you get shot a lot, then you will see decay register on it when you clone.

LOK has no spawns

I spoke with Blair and we will be beefing up Lok so that more mobs spawn.

So, long long time ago, when I decide to create a Character, I thought "ohh, the Wookie, very cool, loyal, always looked up too"

yeah, wow, have I been proven wrong. The Wookie class, I think, is completly useless, and to reflect that, the aprons rewarded from thenew quest, cant even be worn by a wookie...

whats up with that!?!?!

I guess, atleast important items like that should be wearable by all species... Would be nice to have that +5 structure/assembly apron to use as a architech, but nooooo... A wookie cant wear it.... Atleast make the special stuff, wearable....

I almost want to quit this character.. and start a human, like EVERYONE else has done already....

On Kettemoor it definitely appears that Lok is barren also. As for Dantooine, there seem to be graul, huurton and voritor spawns (non-mission) but pikets seem to be mission only generated and I've haven't seen a thune (even though they are 'advertised' on one of the log-in screens) in forever.

Don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but my safety deposit and the output hoppers of my factories only store about 70 items. If i try to put more in the safety deposit, it says: "This container is full". If i do a factory run, when there are around 70 items in the output hopper (not always the same number, but around 70), it stops manufacturing, and the email i get says: [header] Internal manufacturing error [body] @system_msg:manf_error_7
Did a CSR-ticket on it, they said i should do a bug report, which i of course did, but as you dont get a direct response to that, and thus don't know what it's status is, i thought i'd put it up here too, see if someone else has the problem.

Ever since the last patch, I have noticed an increase in bh mission failures. The cp's are not there. I traveledfrom naboo to correlia toyavin IV waisted 4 seeker droids and one probe droid. Talk about an expensive screw up. I waisted 1hr on my buffs and never found the target. And it happened twice. I logged after 3 missions a lvl 29 worked a lvl 30 didnt and lvl 31 didnt. whats the deal devs?I never had this problem before the last patch. This issue is severe because of the time spent grinding invest. and to not be able to accomplish or know if the mission will work until you've already spent your time and money looking for it. Big Bug. Please address. Not sure if i'm on the right board. But I'm irritated.
