how about leaving it the way it is ? if someone runs into a house when they are in pvp mode the obvious thing to do is move away from the house, people say people are using the houses to kill then stop camping the dang houses, they know if someone runs in a house while fighting they are gonna pop out and shoot, quit trying to make the game better for thepeople who dont know how to thinkand fix whats already broken =

Easy way to fix things. Remove private structures and remove fees.

Removing fees is not workable. It causes store and merchant problems...

And there are a lot of players who would miss their houses (private structures )

Well ... you could make it such that if the owner (or someone on the permission list) enters the house while in combat, it temporarily makes it public so that their attackers can follow them in. Once the battle is over and the deathblows are dealt then the house goes back to private and warps everyone out that shouldn't be there. If someone really doesn't want people in their house then they have the option of not leading them in there.

How about making houses that have Overts/TEF's in them attackable?

You enter a house to get away from an enemy, and they destroy the structure? Probably too hard to code, but it'd be way cool.

TH, if you are going to make this change I have one thing that must be done...

You must make a distinction between PvP Tef's and PvE tefs....

Yes do not put it past people to spawn missions around somones house then leave them there so the person can not enter his house until the missions are destroyed...

Your opening up a new door to advanced griefing here that will make houses useless.....My wife who is a master tailor has to run into the house all the time because of huge group's of Maulers/Tusk cats which spawn normally around our house....

Will she still be able to be safe within a house when these stupid things agro through walls ect?

Thunderheart,

Whats the one thing that all strategy like games have in common? Zone of Control. Though SWG is not purely a strategy game it does have alot of its elements in it.

Any Factional base should have a zone to where no neutral/opposite faction should be able to put any type of structure within its zone. This can also apply to cities. Aka the Factional recruiter dictates who the city belongs too, plus its own natural boundries help.

As for PvP out of a house, should be allowed as long as the house i public. If not then the TEF flag would block them from entering for 10 min just like a battlefield.

Another possible change Overt to Overt only, coverts can spy and watch and thats it. Every that PvP's is getting tired of TEF tag.

Becuase of this issue my guild lost over 80k in faction points...alot of us want a good workable resolution.

The devs know this is a key issue and we want your feedback. To make this exercise as effective as possible, please stay on topic and post opinions on the material.

Here is the solution we are proposing: Reduce Temporary Enemy Flags (TEF’s) to five minutes and then Change Private Structures so that they CAN NOT be entered if a player has a TEF.

Have you seen this attack technique used in-game?

If you have seen this attack used, what are your experiences?

Do you feel this is a good and/or reasonable solution?

Thanks for your input!

Perfect solution. Dont let people enter houses if they have TEFs, altho 5 min TEFs are a little short imo.

Another solution would be not to let people enter houses if they are in attack mode (another player is trying to attack them).

There is nothing worse than commandos flaming and hiding or CMs poisoning and hiding. This is VERY much needed.

Have you seen this attack technique used in-game?

Yup, by TIO and OSF outside the Trinity Rebel HQ.

If you have seen this attack used, what are your experiences?

Members of the aforementioned Imperial factions would wait in the house (undetectable) until someone ran past with an Imperial TEF from doing a Rebel mission. They would kill the Rebel player, then run straight back into the house so they couldn't be attacked by others in the area. Houses were also used to 'farm' faction points by killing the rebel NPCs, then ducking back inside the house to heal. Repeat for 3 hours at a time.

Do you feel this is a good and/or reasonable solution?

It sounds ok, apart from the public/private thing mentioned earlier.

Hold the phone: can't enter a private structure with a TEF? This won't help much. People will go Overt and do it. Unless you really intend to keep people from entering thier homes while Overt. That's absurd.

I'm all for an on-screenTEF indicator, or shortening the length of the TEF, but barring us from entering our homes simply isn't an ideal solution. Perhaps we could simply not allow players to attack for a few seconds after exiting a private structure? Any more than 5 seconds and you will be obliterated anyway...

To answer your questions: Yes I have seen it done. When it was used on me, I regarded it as my fault for getting so close. I knew the risks. I was, of course, angry that they wouldn't come out and fight.

Thunderheart,

This happens a lot at Anchorhead on Gorath.

The same group of people team up and run to the same house. I have to tell you it's quite annoying.TEF of 5 minutes is too low IMO though.I also liked someone elses suggestion of if your in combat mode you shouldn't be able to enter a house or remain in a house. That way if I get TEF'd for 30 minutes and the guys leave me alone after I clone or something I can still go home.

And IMO if anyone can RUN fast enough to get away from an angry mob they deserve to retreat into a home. After all they are out of your range of site. You wouldn't have known where they went anyway.

Thanks so much for dealing with this delicate PVP issue.

I'm sorry Michail I don't agree with you.

Your problem basically is a bug. For some reason they could attack you, which normally wouldn't happen. And you just logged in which is also a very rare occurance. Not to say you don't play a lot, but you only login and out once per session.

You didn't want to be attacked because you we're covert. So there you have it, if they had a scanner in place well then that's just part of the game and I suggest you find nicer neighbors

Randonb I see what your saying but what's happenning is not very realistic.

Think about it like in real world terms:

I go down the street and find a "gang". I shoot and kill, or seriously injure one of them. They start to pursue me and I run. I manage to make it all the way back to my house being chased by the gang all the way home.

Does the gang.

A) Decide to go home.
B) Hang outside and scream at me a lot wishing they could come in if it wasn't for the red-forcefield I had installed in all of my doors.
C) Break the down the door (possibly some windows) come inside and murder me.

Right C!

It's not only frustrating that someone is inside a house, the MOST frustrating part for me is I have enough firepower to level a Kimogila yet I can't seem to go inside someones house. Now instead of allowing people to blow up peoples houses, or break in (that would open a world of nightmare bugs) we simply refuse them entrance to their own homes.

If you start a fight be prepared to finish it. Place yourself in a factionthen be ready to fight at all times. And if you can't take the heat get out of kitchen!

Did you even read the post ? it's about players droping houses next to faction bases and then blowing everything up. this is an exploit. it must be fixed.
