Thread: Publish 8: Various Gameplay Changes

in case you havent seen there is a bug where you can repair your vehicle, and then if you store it and recall it later it comes out as it was damaged before you repaired it.... kinda sucks!
Umm that bug was fixed in today's patch if you didn't bother to read it, So essentially any disabled vehicle is now a POS in your data pad.

Yeah, I was wondering that too... TH mentioned it about a week ago (I don't know if it was a "maybe" or not) but then there was never any mention of it again, yea or nay.
ooooooooo i love the smoke BOTS in the cantina!
just what we needed! more frickin lag.

Tell me again how 1 player taking out every Stormtrooper in a city is Star Wars? Please remember Rebels: You are not the heroes of the Rebellion. You are simply no-named soldiers in the army, much as the Imperials are.

Nova Troopers are stuipid and un-star warsy. Getting a TEF in a crackdown city should not mean instant death for the rebel. Its not like killing them granted some amazing amount of faction anyway, what like 10 faction points? There isn't even anything worth while to spend Rebel Faction on.
I hear this from alot of Rebels. From alot of Rebels who know that FPs will get them factional-ships in the upcoming SE. Tell me again easy/free faction points for rebels means nothing, will you?
If the Imperial players are so upset about faction farming, then they should be the ones to do something about it. There are plenty of crackdown troops to support an Imp player as they engage a Rebel.
That's an ignorant and narrow-minded comment on your part. If the Imperials don't like it, we should spend all day and night of our personal game time in order to babysit NPCs that Rebels can take down in clusters? No thank you. It's also incredibly hard taking on a group of GTEFers.
I'm usually not this upset about changes, but ramping up the HAM on STs is not the "interesting and challenging" gameplay that you are looking for.
Oh, so what you're saying is you don't want the Stormtroopers to be the "feared/walking death" troops that they are s'possed to be? Read up on the SW Databank, Stormtroopers are the elite fighting squad of the Empire. They strike fear in the hearts of all who see them. And now that they're up to par with what the databank considers them, all the Rebels are mad that they can't just sit alone in a city all by their lonesome and farm mad faction points for that shiny new X-Wing they have their eye on?
you are a no named solider with his own pet at-st?
i don't think so jackpipe.

It was a maybe, or a goal as such. And even a 'we are doing' can changeshould always be read as a maybe.
There was a huge discussion on travel times, and I think this was also in line with the Dev's actually finding out what they can do with it. Leaving Starport times the same and reducing the Shuttle times was the outcome. And no doubt will be investigated to see what that does to server loads etc.
And it appears they will be trying to implement a system later that will make those that want the earlier starport times and option.
The Shorter shuttle changes are a welcome to me as a BH and person that tracks down vendors to get items. The Starport times remain the same for now.
So the vehicle storage bug seems to have returned to some extent with the new patch. It seems that if you try to store a vehicle while you are sitting on it using the radial menu, the vehicle registers as being stored, but does not actually go anywhere (you can generate another). I also experienced a bunch of "out of range" messages trying to mount the vehicle, even though I was standing on top of it. That bug popped up before the patch, but seemed to be a little more common today.
Also, I wanted to investigate furtther the Nova Trooper thing...which I was overly harsh about before. I don't know if this was intended, but I was contraband scanned in Kor Vella, and the trooper turned me Overt...that was kind of unexpected. Not sure if that is intentional or not, I am a Lt. Colonel, if that makes any difference.
Other than that, I think this patch has been great and I want to congratulate you guys on a job well done. This patch was so smooth, the servers were back up before I even had my morning coffee! Again, great job guys.

Armor hole is not fixed.
Ditto, its funny to come online and after witnessing the monumental change in the Pikeman profession, read a new title instead of an old one that sucked but not both titles discussed in the Pikeman forums that would be too much love, going out to test the armor hole and get slammed with it three times in a row. It would be interesting if we got some actual fixes for a change and not just the text on the update screen. By the way, I'm happy armor still works, I was half afraid they'd do something to trigger the hole each and every hit.
Now as of the Nova Trooper hot potato, well just sit back and wait, couple of publishes and they'll bring in AT-ATs for scans.

Yea thats the ticket make ST much stronger.. You people had better pray to god your space expansion isnt buggy and full of crap because nearly all the people I know are only remaining here to see if it is. I thought I read in previous patch notes concerning the crack-down that ST's would not scan people in starports. well brainiacs they do and did. I was standing in front of the ticket droid on Mos Entha and an ST runs up to me and says "Halt.. etc.. etc.." So with me not buffed or anything I just run, but of course I get a TEF, so then I get a message that my bike turned Overt and was destroyed. (Makes sense) (not). and then two goods decide to help the ST and bam im cloning because your stupid system. So now I have to worry about 100k ham Supertrooper that will scan me.. so can you say forcing everyone (like it pretty much is now) to be buffed constantly.. Heck this game can not be played without buffs. And when you get a TEF or whatever the first thing someone does is attack your vehicle because it takes nothing to destroy one.

Looks like a stealth nerf to the Savage Quenkers, ranged attacks and more ham?
=(
That pisses me off.
If you're going to change something, without consent from the majority of your subscribers, at least have the guts to list it on the patch notes instead of hoping no one will notice. Absolutely rude and dishonest.
How is anyone supposed to have any belief in you "developers" and your competance if you have to lie and cheat us?
That letter from JustG sounds quite promising. But so did the lowered wait times, truth be told... You didn't do much of anything with wait times for the shuttles. Same with droids, all sounded good but was total crap.
I have little to no hope what so ever in this game anymore under the leadership of our current team of "developers." Everything they say seems to be a sugar-coated lie.
This publish has done more damage then good.
