Thread: ID3 Vehicle Garage Placement

It would be nice to get another garage on Rori. The only one is in Narmle currently, and developing planets like Rori and Talus sure could use more than one. Considering the developing PACs (On Starsider atleast), there are a large number of people that live on these planets now, and one garage per planet isn't enough.

you know, I'd like to chime in on the possible PC City placement.


Politicians are gonna hate me, but you already get a whole lot of variety and economic viability in this game. I do not think politicians should control garages.


Rather, I think the Master Artisan is and remains the most viable lot controller, and through this methodology we start to create a continunity of reasoning with Master Doc for hospital placement, Master Dancer/Musician for cantina placement, and so on. Now many would think Master Artisan is not enough investment for the deed, but the garage is going to be a draw for the area, not a specific event station like hospitals and cantinas. Also, since Master Artisans control vehicle making the placement scenario makes logical sense (I know, I used the L word).


Giving this to politicians further draws away from the symbiotic relationship I think this game entails.

Bestine, Theed and all the other major cities should have garages. Why is it that uninhabited places like Mos Espa have 2 but Bestine has none?


PLEASE give Bestine a garage and put them on the planetary map!

Cara, I agree with your reasoning, but gotta stand with this going Politician (not that my opinion matters ). Politicians don't really do anything that most other players with diplomatic or social skills do. Their game is a once-a-week exercise of learning skill points and the placement of structures. Militias don't turn over that much, and they help with citizen placement anyway. Maybe they change the city policy every so often. I feel for Politiicans actually. 75 Skill points for something that by itself doesn't do much.


Any bone tossed to them at this point would be worth it.


As to Garages in general, I don't actually want many more than there are. Otherwise they'll be irrelevant. The Devs could just deduct 2k-5k a week from every player and achieve the same end without having to add content. I don't think it should be any easier to repair vehicles.


Player City Garages are a great idea. They can charge for the services and put that into the city coffers, particularly those on advanced worlds. But there's enough garages now.


If that's not agreed to by them, then I recommend garages on advanced worlds, with higher costs than newbie ones. More dangerous, more costly to get materials out there to repair, more demand, etc.

The city that I most hate looking for a garage in, is Theed. It's a good example of bad garage placement.

Honestly though, as long as every city has a garage, I don't care where it's at if it shows up on /find.

The great thing about garages is that the only folks who need em are folks who already have vehicles. We don't need -more- garages, we just need the /find command to work on garages so we know where they are.

Although garages aren't named on maps just yet you can find them using the map if you know what you are looking for. They are the only structures that appear as a perfect square. Of course this only applies to the major cities atm. I hope this helps.

It would make sense for the Imperial Outposts and Rebel Outposts to atleast have a garage or repair station of sorts in thier outposts. I seriously doubt that the Empire would just treat all thier equipment as disposable if theres a way for it to be repaired.
