Be prepared to discover that while battle fields were shut off - players have established towns on the edges of battlefields. What does that mean? Well - it means that their private clone center will give them an extream advantange in the battle field... (combined with /cityban)


SO -Isuggest battle fields be removed from the maps.


Every day at reset random battles should be assigned at specific POI, random locations oreven make player factional bases. (Player factional bases should onlyshow up if thebase was attacked on the prior day during its vulnerability cycle and the base was saved by the override.)


Faction based emails should be sent to rebels, imperials, jabba's thugs, nightsisters, etc. These emails should contain at least the following points :
1. yesterday the <rebels> wonX battles and lost Y battles. (list the POIs and results.)

2. there are X battles occurring today. The battles are occuring at Jabba's Hut, Theed Waterfall,Krayt Skeleton,.. (perhaps include intelligence or make the player find some intel.)


since battlefields will keep score - at the end of the day awards can be assigned. (purple hearts, iron crosses, etc (with starwars names.)) Certainly set some threshold to these awards (a battlefield camped by 1 player who fights off his newbie alt 200 times shouldn't generate rewards.) The awards may come with bonuses - credits, faction points, rank, ...

Would you care to test out a 400 year old sword to see if it's decayed to condition 0? All the prior testers have no comment. Perhaps a gun which was used in WW I and still fires with high accuracy upto 1km?

If that doesn't get you, then start reading current military specifications for combat equipment.

I think the developers don't respond because 99% of the posters have nothing intelligent to say.


To those posters who want battlefields removed entirely and PvP with it, please -- leave this game and go elsewhere, such as The Sims Online or Horizons. You will be happier.


The purpose of the thread was to suggest changes that would make PvP combat on battlefields more fun and meaningful. It was not an invitation for the gerbil wheel crowd to make nonconstructiverants about PvP.


PvP is here to stay. Moreover, it will increasingly be the endgame. *Real-time* combat, including a focus on PvP combat, will be the defining feature of the Space Expansion. PvP will be the focus of the GCW revamp. Read the announcements about it. If you don't like that, leave.


We have enough static, PvEcontent as is.PvP Battlefields must be brought back, andreintroduced withmeaningful rewards for the victors.


In order for this to happen, though, some changes must be made to professions, equipment and core systems in order to make PvP more balanced and more fun. Cutting combat medics down to size, along with riflemen, would be a start in the right direction.

Battlefields should be a place where any player can enter a round much like if it were Battlefield 1942, UT2004, ect. without having to worry about loosing FP, getting armor decay, or anything else that currently discourages players from normally being involved in PvP. Each new battlefield should be unique from each other, in terms of PvP, PvE and even rules. It would also be cool if there was a completely NPC battlefield, where battles constantly took place, and anyone could join in on the fun at anytime. Now THAT would be a battlefield worth going to.

Does anyone know when they are planning on implementing them back in or re-working them completely. I am confused on this cause it seems to constantly change?

Perhaps the GCW could heat up a bit if you would reinstate rebel termainls and recruters. Just a thought

This may have already been said before, but here goes. Why not make battlefields like the new expansion, where you actually control every shot your character takes, fps style? That would make them a lot more interesting in my opinion. Nobody went to battlefields before because they were pointless. You'd get the same click/wait battle experience that you could get killing nunas.
