This is something that Im working with NJ62 (Tailor Correspondent) on. I've read the thread and have done some investigations. Currently, what seems to be happening is that a master tailor who also has all 4 engineering artisan boxes (which give you artisan experimentation) gets 4 sockets every time still.
Another master tailor/master artisan here.. rarely getting 4 sockets, usually 2 or 3, sometimes 1. Very rarely 4 though.

Hey Thunderheart, don't know if anyone has mentioned this but yesterday's patch seems to have completely borked the tailor socketing system (related to experimentation?). Now master tailors are having a very difficult time getting four socketed items... lots of 2, 3, 1 and even no sockets coming up. It is completely and noticably different than we've ever experienced before. There's a thread going about it on the tailor forum... please check it out.
thx

Please read the information in the Tailor forum, TH. This is the farthest from the truth it could possibly be. Master Art/Master Tailor here. Four (4) Sockets have become like the elusive LockNess Monster. People claim to have seen them... there are OLD pictures of them.. but nothing can be found to support their existence, Today.
Please have a look. We are begging and I personally am praying that my Bio Clothing customers do not see this post (the one I am responding to). I will spend the weekend having to explain to them WHY I am still not making Bio Clothing when the socket issue is supposedly fine.
Yikes!
I can't stand it!
Thunderheart continues to talk out of his behind on issues without gathering facts, without knowing what is going on, without caring about either.
Why is this guy still an SOE employee? He has no crediblity left. He continuously gets it wrong.
Master tailors are now telling him he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Anothter to reject this one...
Master Tailor, Master Artisian, and just to boot, Master Armorsmith.
I can hit 4 sockets, but it's extremely hard.. takes about a dozen items to get there, give or take a few.
Heya, I am the Lochness Monster from Naritus Server. Wanted to let ya know that I do exist and can be seen regularly at my shop in the cordinates below. I don't allow pictures which is probably why you are having a hard time finding them, but you can witness me up close and personal. Hope this clears things up. Oh and please spell my name right when talking about me =)
/roleplay off
hehe, saw your post and just couldn't resist.

The new Wookiee armor is about equal to Chitin in its resists, but it's HAM cost is a bit lower mostly because it is only 4 pieces vs the 9 of Chitin. Wookiee armor does not include boots or gloves, so Trandoshan have nothing to complain about. Wookiee armor has a chest/helm combined piece so to get chest converage they take a modest hit to their Mind. However, since the chest theoretically covers at least the chest and head and maybe the bicep area as well, it will take damage a lot faster than the Chitin chest.
For comparisons of armor types, I have been working on a page using stuff I have made: http://www.tshrew.net/ainwyn/Armor/Stats.html
You've never seen the stuff have you. The bracer is included with the glove. It covers the hands. The only thing it doesn't cover is the feet. And yes, we have reason to complain.

Not true. I am a tailor with +100 artisan experimentation and ever since the patch, I've crafted plenty of clothes, and I'd say about only three of them came out with four sockets. I get constant three sockets, two sockets, one sockets, and even no sockets at all.
From your tone, I am guessing that this socket thing is a bug and not intentional? ![]()

This is false. I have an alt. who's a Master Tailor and Master Artisan, and I haven't had a single 4-socket item since the patch.
