Thread: Publish 10 Feedback, “The Jedi Trials”: Live Issues and Open Discussion
Tatooine, Bria server.
11:10pm. Doc applies 3hr buffs. Usual doc, no problems in past. HAM in the 3200's
11:30 Drink 2 shots brandy.
Complete two destro missions.
11:40 Loose connection (dial up)
11:45 reconnect. Buffs have dropped. HAM is back to 900's
As I am on a dial up account I lose connection every two hours. While I lose the little buff icons, the buffs themselves have always stuck. ISTR this used to happen back around Pub 6/7

In case you didn't notice, it says open discussion in the topic title, and I am participating in an... open discussion. Gasp. What a concept.
And don't try a strawman on me. I didn't expect to log in and be a Master Dark Jedi with one saber for every color of the rainbow and more powers than the Emperor. I expected my shot at the village. I met the requirements, I expected my go. I thought the grinders would get their Jedi, bypass the village for the most part and everyone would be happy.
Instead grinders get in the village first, PLUS their free skill boxes (double reward) while I get screwed over with a 1-6 month wait, not knowing when exactly in that time I could get a visit. It's utter BS. The devs deceived us in the most cynical manner imaginable, and I say it's unforgivable.
This is the wrong thread to use for complaining about jedi 'gating'. There is a separate, FOCUSED thread for such activity, darthrotten. You are cluttering this thread with off-topic posts since there is a SPECIFIC thread DEDICATED to people like yourself with 'issues' like yours.
The harvester problem is several orders of magnitude more important than your FEELINGS about other players - this is a bug which has direct, profound, and widespread economic impact.
Your being miffed at someone because they got into the village first is inconsequential, irrelevant, uninteresting, and unimportant to the game economy and stability as a whole.
Please move your discussion into the appropriate thread where you will have the attention you deserve given to you. That would be very helpful to us all as well as being much more effective.

Several veterans in my guild, and long time friends since launch are also some of the most generous, patient and mature people I have known. ALL of them had hopes to engage the content after today's new publish and to finally have a roadmap to pursue Jedi. Some of these folks did a relatively long pursuit of holo-grinding and managed to keep their sanity and patience.
Someof them found themselves lacking today when they checked their FS, and went off seeking to complete a couple more themeparks.
Some of them were "glowing" and went out seeking the old man so they could access the village in hopes to finally sink their teeth into some content.
All of them have now logged out completely deflated. They left messages in guild chat that they pumped a bunch of credits into structures and are taking a break from the game for a few weeks after this huge disapointment of more time gates to reach the opportunity to enjoy content and a carrot that has been dangling for almost a year.
Why couldn't there be several villages to accomodate the initial large crowd? Talus and Rori could have supported this with ease in most galaxies. So many good people have just collapsed from exhaustion of emotion from this new set of hurdles and time gates.
And here I am......still the only Jedi my guild has ever had. Still alone, and unable to enjoy the game with friends.
I don't know what else to say, except good people (patient and mature people) have just logged out indefinitely.

Okay, so the community is outraged by the "gating". I was too... until I helped a friend go through the Warren today. If you want to see what the Village of Aurilia would be like without "gating"... just head up to Dantoine's Agro Outpost, and head over to the Warren POI. The place is a madhouse, over 200 players in there when I was. Everyone is dashing there to get what seems to be an important badge... just as everyone that is currently "glowy" would be doing, if the Village wasn't gated.

Thank you to everyone who recently purchaced the Jump to Lightspeed Expansion Pack. We thank everyone for their patience while we used the last two push-backs of the release date to fine-tune the finished product by adding zero additional content, but really getting that shade of "Imperial Laser Green" just right.However...in our complete lack of haste, we grossly underestimated the number of people who would choose to use the new expansion packto...well...go into space. Little did we realize that many people wouldbe interested inchecking outthe whole "space" feature of the space expansion pack. As a result, the space servers have all simultaneously crashed... However, fear not! We have implemented an ingenious plan to safeguard our very expensive servers.Players will gradually be let into space over the next few weeks. The priority for getting into space will be based on an entirely meaningless graduated system. We had thought of tying it to, say, how many faction points you have if you're a faction pilot, but then we realized that made too much sense. Insted, we have tied it to how many Kaadus you have killed over your character's lifetime. We feel that Kaadu kill-count will be an accurate representation of your devotion to...um...killing Kaadus, and isn't that who we really want to have the best, most innovative content in the game? Players will be sorted into groups based on thier Kaadu kill-countbut not informed of their group.Theywill then be slowly let into space in order. However, they are encouraged not to leave space, as this will put you back to the rear of the queue and let the next person in.
We hope you enjoy Jump to Lightspeed and thanks again for helping make SWG the best, and most illogically-well-funded MMO in history!
