Thread: Most annoying text bugs?
While fighting huurton HUNTRESSES (Female, we would assume, right?
), the combat spam say things like 'you swing at a huurton huntress, andHE dodges the attack' or 'A huurton huntress swings at you. HE hits you for xxx damage'.
I believe this is the same for ALL female versions of mobs...they are referred to as 'HE' not SHE ![]()
I'm going to paraphrase some of these as I don't know the exact text:
- "Human has tipped you xxx credits". (recieved when someone tips you but you are not in range)
- "You focus your playing on %TT" (given when you /setperformance while playing music or dancing)
- "NO GRAMMAR DATA FOR combat_spam_xxxxxxx" (this happens on so many different instances, some examples are when a grenade's splash damage misses surrounding targets, when wookieroar's aoe effect get's resisted from other npc's or creatures in the area, etc.)

I'm talking about grammatical, spelling, boxes in place of punctuation, etc. Please give as much detail as you can to help me locate these guys in the text tool.(Please note, I have no programming skills to speak of, so this "low level" task is not taking away from any designer fixing the top issues). Thanks for the second set of eyes.
Leaving the Mining Outpost on Dantooine has an Echo bug that drives me nuts. The city is named "Mining Outpost" on everything but when you leave the city limits you are told, "You are leaving The Pirate Outpost" or something similar.
Many of the combat spam messages refert to "Shock Wounds" vs. the updated "Battle Fatigue" term.
Also combat spam shows names like Sap Shot and Sap Blast in place of Health Shot 1 and 2.
Combat spam also says things like "You hit gnort for 412 damage, but him evades it." or "... him counterattacks"
I noticed several of the tailor schematics call for "similar" components, which is the same as "identical components from a factory crate", but there is lack of agreement in terminology.
When you heal a BE pet that has not been named, you get the full "You heal creatures/mob: bioengineered_creature_kliknik for 606 points of health" message (not exact terminologoy)
The Carbineer tags for Novice and Master read:
Novice Carbinier
Master Carbinier
Yeah, so it should be Carbineer.
There are so many in one place it's way to numerous to mention, but if you check the skills screen (ctr+k or just k for me since I remapped it) and check individual boxes for the skills granted, almost all, and at the least most, are either extremely misleading (like Bounty Hunter's Fire Knockdown special suggests that it would put fire on the target like torso shot but it does not have a fire DOT component), have TONS of gramatical errors and also a great deal of them are extremely poor sentance structure (run on's are very common sometimes making it hard to understand exactly what the skill does)...not that mine is much better, but you asked! I'd list more individual ones in that category, but like I said there are so many you can literally pick a skill and just hover the cursor over skills granted and see them. At least half of them are out dated, spelled wrong, have wrong information (due to nerfs or changes from beta to live) or generally just don't make any sense.
Novice and Master Carbineertitles arewrong, Carbinier does not match the rest of the text in-game.
Also, sit down for a few minutes and look through the tooltip descrips in the skilltree. Lots of typos in there.
