Thread: Publish 6 Feedback: Imperial Crackdown

The Imperial NPC presence needs to be increased tremendously as well as removing any FP gain for "camping" one of the Imp controlled cities and farming the Imp NPCs.
There are posts from Rebels that state that there is very little or no FP gain from the storm troopers spawning around the NPC towns.
If you want cities to be impenetrable to Rebels, then get a bunch of your imperial goons to pull out their AT STs and take charge.

Out of nowhere an Imperial Shuttle comes out of the sky, and out pop a gaggle of dark-armored Stormtroopers. Hey, free FP, right?
Yeah, we thought so until my wife got incapped in one shot! Let me just say that this battle was AMAZING! It was a break from the normal mission routine, it was unexpected, and most of all, IT WAS FUN!!!
I saw an Imperial shuttle while I was out hunting with a group on Rori. RORI!!! It's as backwater as you can get an there's an Imperial shuttle landing 1km from the middle of nowhere dumping out a ton of Imperial troopers.
I almost didn't believe my eyes. I just caught a glimpse of the shuttle landing from behind the tortons we were hunting. I sent my graul to keep the torton occupied while I ran over to double check what I saw. The shuttle looked awesome! Straight out of the movies. Animation was a bit funny, it just kinda glided down close to the ground and a bunch of Troopers spawned around it, but it was good enough.
Great job! Kudos!
Not sure if you mean for this to be the place for bugs for the patch in general or just the scans and imperial presance bugs.
1. CH pets, droids, Faction pets- When you send a pet into battle the target runs.. and i am not talking about like the used to run and come back.. i am talking like runs 100's of meters away and keeps going. Basicly use ANY CH pet and attack anything at all and the target (and all his buddies that agro) will make a B-line as far away as possible and keep going.
2. Pets follow right on top of you! They dont linger 5- 10 meters behind.. they climb right up on your avitar and crowd your entire vision the whole time and thier movment is jerky like they have had to much dead eye surum.
3. Bestine still seems to have very little imperial presence even with a base on top of the hill the imperial NPC presance is slim - on a side note the bestine missions do pay nice amounts of cash and lead to nice events.
1) The obvious one; don't carry any contraband on you when you enter an Imperial controlled city and or planetary cantina. Everyone has access to a bank deposit box, use it.
2) Group with a smuggler
3) Join the Empire or become neutral.
It just smacks of the age old attitude in MMO's of 'I want to be able to do this/that/other and I want it fast and easy and now!'
As for the rest of the Crackdown from my PoV. I am in the camp with those that haven't seen any of it going on. I was following a trio of Stormtroopers around Kor Vella for about ten minutes with two sliced weapons (one equipped) and a bunch of sliced armour in my inventory and nothing. Maybe it's my 45% smuggler resist thing? Anyway this is probably just a matter of tweaking some numbers, sure you'll sort this out soon enough.
My main concern still lies with the Imperials getting a modicum of smuggling skill for little cost. As I understand it (from the wording in the original post) if a private declares overt s/he can get away with carrying contraband as if they were high rank? Yet a smuggler needs to get to underworld 3 (600k pistol exp not including what is needed to get to Novice smuggler) to get above 50% chance of avoiding the scan

I echo the sentiments expressed many times above that you should probably address the fact that this has turned into a handy dandy FP farming device for elites. Not much of a crackdown for them, methinks ...Unless you already did think this through? I'd love to know if the current FP farming was considered by the Devs and if the current result is in line with what they were expecting.
Thanks.
Amazing, the Imp players are complaining about rebels farming the npcs. You wanted them in town, and now they're there. How about you go overt and support them? What, you want the npc's to do everything for you so you can walk around overt feeling all powerful, yet without risk?
The real problem isn't that rebels are taking out these npcs, but that PvE rebels can now be forced overt--this impacts a minimum of an hour of gametime.
Sadly, today was the first time I didn't mind getting db'd by an imp. I didn't have an hour to waste in-game waiting for my status to revert to covert, so I took my chances going to the starport and ran into a overt Imp TKM. I figured, what the hell; I need to be here, so entered combat with him. He knocked me down, and quickly db'd me; so I cloned and was happily able to go on about my business without further pvp interference.
Yeah, real Star Warsy. I was interested in PvE, had been forced Overt, so was happy enough to just get it over with by being db'd. In the past, going I only went overt when I was prepared to commit the time to PvP. Now, through the penalty, it's become yet another timesink.
Forcing us into PvP via a TEF would have been bad enough, forcing us Overt is simply unacceptable. I shouldn't have to make the choice between finding someone to DB me or wasting an hour waiting for my status to revert back to covert (assuming I can even find a recruiter) before I can get on with my PvE.
After wandering through Bestine, Anchorhead, and Espa for a few hours tonight, not to mention the Fort Tusken area, I have to wonder if the Crackdown even started. I sure don't feel like the Empire is any more intimidating than it was before.
I'm a Master Smuggler, and I was carrying about 6 crates of spice, 12 sliced weapons/pieces of armor, and 3 holocrons. That doesn't even count all the contraband I had in my droids. No scans in about 5 hours of play.
My friend the Pikeman was carrying 8 sliced weapons. I ungrouped with him to see what would happen (ie, withdrew Smuggler protection). No scans in at least4 hours of play.
When I was in Espa:
- I sawa few Stormtroopers patrolling the perimeter, but nothing one or two unbuffed Master combatants couldn't handle.
- The Base near the Starport in Espa was deserted all night (and has the same lame layout as Lord Nyax's).
- The one side of town where Stormtroopers were (some kind of fortified area) spawned about 5 Stormies at a time and got taken out in no time and with zero backup.
- Any Stormie who came into the cantina, if you bothered to shoot them, spawned about 4 more Stormies, but those go down fast with a few good fighters around, not even special templates.
So it's all a big waste of time as far as I can tell.
