Regarding light sabers being waved outside of combat... use a little imagination, people.
There's certainly lots of toys that look like guns in this society. Some of them are so real looking that you can't tell if they are real until they fire a stream of water at your faceinstead of bullets.
Try going to the nearest major airport with a realistic looking toy gun. Wave it in the air in plain sight of security personel and scream, "None of you can touch me!".
Then come back and tell us what happened.... or I guess we would see it on the news anyhow.
Issue: Bazzar and Vendors, Resources are not displaying the resource name or quantity. This is new as of Pub 9. This is very very very bad. It makes buying resources exceedingly tedious. Please make sure that somewhere in the main list is displayed the resource name and quantity.
While I'm at it, please add the ability to sort resources by subcategory (i.e. show me only STEEL within Inorganics). That'd be super.

In an advanced tech society, there would be lots of ways they could createa visual illusionsimilar to real lightsabers forkiddie toy lightsabers, and the only way you could tell the difference would be in seeing one cut something in half. I doubt a person in this society would believe a light saber being waved at the front door of a starport would be anything but a toy lightsaber. They would have to see a lightsaber actually working to believe it was real and take action as if it were real.

I'm a good roleplayer. I've been playing P&P RPG since the first D&D hard cover handbook was released in the 70's. IF I had a Jedi character, I would not be running around wavingmy lightsaberfor no reason. However, there is nothing that can be done to force someone to cooperate. This is strictly a roleplaying issue. When you have roleplaying games that refused to address roleplaying issues, this is what happens.

I see your point, but why add insult to injury? Especially when it involves an icon of the universe the game is played? Doesn't that affect everyone?

I wanted to add an important point... this is NOT a bad game balance issue. This is a bad ROLEPLAYING issue. If you guys want to allow some policing of bad roleplaying in SWG, us roleplayers would be more than happy to enthusiastically support it. Characters running around with names like "The Rock" and "sCrIptKiDDiE" are no less disruptive to the playing environment than these waved lightsabers. How about a TEFwhen people shouting out scores of Yankees and Pistons games?
