Thread: Entertainer Quest
Favorite thing about being an entertainer: EARNING a nice tip by combining a stellar preformance and good conversation.
Least favorite thing: AFK Buffbots - completely goes against what the entertainer is all about. (IMHO)
Favorite Idea I have read on this form: FAME!!!
One thing I would change: Payout on Entertainer missions. The shuttle cost or repair cost on a bike is more than the mission pays.
One thing I would add: Make Jabba's throne room a place where entertainers can heal and buff. IMO this fits in with what Jabba's Palace is all about. It is the place where scoundrels and scum go to hang out and seek work. If I was a smuggler and wanted to talk freely about slicing/spices or a Bounty Hunter looking for a job to off someone, this should be the place to go. Making the throne room a place for entertains would create some “stickiness” and make it look less like a track meet from the front door to the throne room.
All things considered this is a good profession but could easily be one of the best.

The entertainer is an exciting new type of profession in MMO gaming. It is a social based profession where players interact with other players. Even still, the desire to play through adventures and quests in the game world is something that all players are anxious to see more of. Musicians, Dancers and possibly entertainers have a new type of quest that will be added to the game in Publish 9. Players will have to seek out a theater manager NPC and perform an audition and be judged on their performance.
Yeah, so - where the HELL are these, anyways?
10.2 came and went - nothing, no word, nothing. They just didn't show up.
That's craptacular work. Keep it up. REALLY appreciate the lack of communication from you guys, too. Super duper.
Waste of my friggin time and energy, testing these things for you. It was apparently for nothing, because these never implemented and you've NEVER SAID WHY.
After today, 10/1, you will officially have started your Feedback Thread for these 2 weeks ago. We provided feedback right away, and the Quest NEVER WENT LIVE. Where is it, where are all of you, why are you treating Dancers and Musicians like this?
What a spit in the face. Lovely.

If we look in RL what has entertainers done for a war effort.
Entertainers has worked as spies, courirs, rumour runger.
How can you relfect this in SWG, if you are going to create an active part for an entertainer in the GCW this is my ideas.
As with the mission texts, (if anyone bothers to read them), the people is being opressed and needs to be soothed, Thats why they want you to go dance for npcs to reflect your important role. Why not implement a system that will allow entertainers to spread hidden proparganda in their songs/music/theatrical plays. that way they could get support from the general populace.
The GCW was from the beginning about land, even factional bases is about siezing land. The GCW command then counts the totals from each side with variuos factors involved then gives us the result. What if it also counts support. The main reason many accepts what the empire is doing is because false proparganda. If ppls eyes are opened more support to the rebel cause would grow. As would the opposite, plays that makes the rebels look more like criminals with stormtroopers saving the day would make the populace look toward the empire for support.
Make a system, maybe a popularity system, that would be shown as a percentage on each city. That factional entertainers could truly make an effort in the war. I am not saying that entertainers should be able to take over cities but maybe help sway the support.
The of course we could create crackdowns, ST storming in arresting entertainers for spreading lies about the emperor.
Even player cities could be affected not just the big cities, every player attending a play could be asked if they liked the play. Both for experience and for factional purposes. So one day the mayor notices that the support for his city is swaying towards an imperial declearation instead.
I realise that this will take alot of changes, but my opinion was asked for.

Must add, because of 'dances' moving you from one side to other like lyrical2
I failed 2 times because I have 'moved out of main stage'
That's frustrating, because I reported that very bug months ago when these things were first on TC and TC2. You get to the very edge of the stage, and it says "You have failed because you left the stage during the performance." Yet, you haven't actually LEFT the stage. Happens frequently in the drifty dances that you mention.
So yeah, I reported it. Panthu raised it in her communications with the devs as well. Apparently we were both ignored. ![]()
Back in the first weeks/months of gameplay, it really was a socially driven class, but with the creation of the hologrind, you suddenly have people that are just master dancers because it gives their characters something to do when they are AFK or the like.
I think it would be interesting if you could somehow choreograph your own show or something to this effect. So rather than just having ppl spamming random flourish or just using a macro loop, you can go back to having the few master dancers that actually earn respect and are known through the galaxy because they care about giving the best show possible. The Entertainer classes are treated like the special ed class of the game because anyone with a continuous internet connection can have it mastered in a matter of days.
I know that there are attemps to end macroloops, and I hope that it actually helps gameplay instead of just leading to a bunch of whiny noobs. I know that for anything like this to be done, it would be a lot of coding and hard work, but as a long time entertainer, i feel that there is nothing to set people apart any more. If there was some way to actually have something original in YOUR show that made it worth watching, then i think that it would bring the prestige back to the class.
Sorry about the rant...Happy gaming everyone!!!
Nice Song... I love the Song.
But...
Quest Done in 2 Days
Not very much for a 1/2 year waiting time.
Ah and btw. where is the "Casino Theme park"? Or do we have to wait another year?
