You got it

btw. Look out for droids with less charges. They may give you the result after 20 minutes. So do mine...

agreed SOE needs to make the scout droid either useable by non scout, or make them harvest in addition to the scout(like another group member can) for them to be usefull at all.

agreed SOE needs to make droids sample if your going to burn a survey tool every time you send a droid (if it takes that long what are they supposed to be doing)

agreed SOE needs to not break a fix the next day

disagree that SOE is going to loose SWG soon this game has more potential for content then any other MMOG I have ever played

. SOE needs to work on the real content of the game to save it.........the GCW

I am a Master DE and have been experimenting with the Survey droids. When creating these droids, you can either design them to have lots of uses (up to 18 per droid) with very long reporting times (50+ minutes) or shorter reporting times (about35 minutes) with fewer uses (7 per droid). I found that my customer prefer shorter reporting times over number of uses, of course they have to buy more survey droids, but get their results much quicker. The quality of the materials you use to make these droids is critical in getting the best numbers.

Since the droids are limited use (7 uses per droid), I only charge 5k per droid or 25K for a crate of 5.

The time doesn't bother me as much... I can send them off and go about my way grinding or doing other stuff and then when I get the results, check them against my harvy list and see if any resources have shifted. I actually like the large stacks because they are even more economical to use. However, I can see having a few stacks of the faster reporting droids for those days when I'm deciding where my harvies should relocate to.

I just wish people wouldn't expect so muchfrom these droids. I'm guessing the SOE developed these droids to address customer concerns over resource shifts. So far I have heard that people want samples, want them to locate the highest % spot, want them to come back with samplesand so forth. At first I thought the droids were useless, but don't feel that way now... plus I will save a lot of money... and, as a result, BE MORE PROFITABLE when I sell stuff or resources. People need to look at these for what they are, not what they aren't.

Just think about it... If they went out and found the highest spot on the planet for a given resource... it would be a mess and everyone here would be complaining that the stupid droids recommended a spot that is already camped with harvesters. Or, worse yet... how many times have you surveyed only to find the highest, most incredible % on the planet is smack dab in the middle of a town? I can see lots of unhappy peeps unless the droid implemention was really good and it detected all these possibilities. Part of me is very happy they don't locate the highest % spot. Although I don't always like surveying, I do get a thrill when I find an uber % spot and place a pile of harvies down... only to find tons of other harvies around that spot within a day or two. I get that competitive feeling and think "Ha! I beat ya to it!".

Have to agree with dbugged on the survey droids. VERY usefull. Not just for the reason he says but also to verify that SWGCraft resources still exist (saves a wasted trip quite often) and can also locate potentially usefull resources. Let's say we're out of Talus Fungus but live on Rori. Thats FOUR shuttles (Base to starport, the naboo, then Corriella, then Talus) each way JUST to find if the resource exists. 1 droid and jobs done.

Let's be honest here, ALL the droids are great (with the possible exception of the bomb one). There seem to be a couple of bug's with them but other than that are excellent range of very handy droids. If you don't believe me then witness my MDE mate who made 1mill from selling the new droids in no time and that was without the ability to do musician recording or survey droids.

I play on Bria and I was in Bestine and I had my scout blaster equiped and noticed that all the storm troopers were coning green to me. Now I only have pistols 4, so i figured I would switch over to my carbine (Master carbineer) and see how much they toned down the faction points you receive from them. So I bust out crippling shot, which one of these will normally kill anything that cons white or lower to me. Much to my surpize i barley dented him, so i check and he has 8k ham. Before most stormtroopers with 8k+ ham would con white to me and now all of a sudden they are showing as green.

I think when the devs lowered the xp and faction points they seemed to have lowered their level but left there ham alone. I see some poor clueless noob thinking he can take down a storm trooper and getting owned before he even knows what happened.

So I am walking in town, a covert rebel, just going from spaceport to my house. And then I look around and all the imps are basically conning green. No sweat, I am not here to kill them, just trying to get back to my house after having come back from hunting on Talus.

So I am outside the town, I pull my speeder and so imp starts to "Check me", thinking hes green and I am a high level TKA, I figured I could beat the inspection. HELL NO!!! Turns out this imp has around 7-8k HAM and calls in his buddies in no time flat.

Am I complaining about the fact I was searched? Nah... its Star Wars, Imps searched everyone in the movies...

Am I complaining cause I died? Nah, it happens, plus no decay on the faction death.

What am I complaining about? The conning is so off that its screwing with decision making. I would have paid the fine or what not, but man was the Green Con BS.

Suggestion: Either makethe stsmatch the con or make the con match the sts. As in, lets be honest, you aren't a uber st npc if you butt got sent to Tat. Chances are you scored below average on a test and thats why the only city you see was made out of sand bricks and not metal. Why not decrease the HAM on imps in non-central cities. I mean Bestine should have harder imps than Espa or what not. Also is there a range item to scans, I mean how can someone scan me if I took off on my bike? I was over 800klicks away before they finished and declared me.

ALL IN ALL: FIX THE CON !!!

I love the new entertainer mods. Dancing Jawas are a big hit.

I'm a little less than excited about the survey droid though. I'm not expecting to have the thing find me good spots, but I would really like them to be able to pull a few samples. Any chance we could add a storage module to them and have them fill up on samples of a chosen resource category?

/agree

1. They shouldallow the survey droids to come back with samples and perhaps let only master artisans have the capability to use them if they are ever given such capability.

2. Give us the option of either placing the spam from the ad barking droids in a seperate chat channel and/or the ability to /addignore them.

I agree was well. The devs should give the survey droids more capability as a player goes up in the Survey skill tree.

Well, i bought a barker droid with data storage and item storage also. My first impression is "i don't know how to put a waypoint or a barking message on the stupid thing." There is no radial option to give it a barking command, and thers no way to put a waypoint into the data area.

Harvest droids. Seems pretty pointless to me. The way i harvest hides (i'm a master AS) is i get 3 or 4 people, go to a planet, drive around on speeders, kill stuff, then harvest it all up... So obviously if you're driving around on a speeder, theres no way you can have a droid following you (unless you speed them up to flying speed). Unless you guys actually start loading EVERY planet up with some dynamic spawns, this is totally worthless, since i have to drive back to town every 2 missions.

Interplanetary survey droids. : cool idea, swgcraft data will most likely stay up to date even more often

Combat droids: any pet less than level 25 is pretty much worthless in my opinion, though having mastered 30 professions... i've seen no pet that could EVER compare to a person in 80% kinetic armor, fully buffed and brandied. Pets just seem worthless in general these days, especially when their damage type is either kinetic or energy with 0 armor piercing. blegh, junk. No droid will ever kill another player or creature worth killing. So why have one.

My medical droid with every crafting station is my favorite droid ever, and always will be. It's useful and practical!

Maintenance droids... i haven't used one yet... do they deliver Power or report current maintenance levels on the target?? if not... that sounds like it doesn't have much purpose.

sum it all up:

make droids fly as fast as speeders, maybe not speeder bikes or swoops but x34s(spelling?)

make jedi able to group (lol wrong forum i know)

make barker droids less confusing to use (i still don't know how to put a waypnt on it or get it to start barking

make maintanence droids report maintenence AND power levels, then allow you to apply maint and power afterwards.

-give combat droids better armor, or shield generators of some type, and some armor piercing non-standard (standard = kinetic/energy) damage types. (ie make droid armor modules actually use the stats of some armor components (layers etc), make their weapons actually use real in game weaponry as components/stats.

oh, i haven't had it confirmed yet from a dev, but it seems that binary load lifters with barker modules are bugged... i am not getting all of the options under "get merchant waypoint"... in fact i'm not getting any options. (to explain my last post)

I can certainly confirm that the hotfix broke the Structure Maintenance Module in droids.

  • Droid constructed and used the day after launch day: structure maintenance is there and works correctly.

  • Droid constructed and put on vendor for sale the day after launch day: structure maintenance rating appears in the droid deed.

  • Droids constructed today: structure maintenance does NOT appear on the deed when in inventory, nor does it appear on the vendor.

I have a few pretty upset customers and I'm hoping it can be fixed so the structure modules reappear in the droids I built them in.
