Ok but we don't know how they coded the database, maybe they implemented a cap in the fields so you can't stockpile as much as it would be.
Anyway it is true we should have 1000 items crates (or more) as we are now able to split crates. For the old crates we should be able to merge them, provided they have the same serial.
An other way could be to merge similar resources with different stats. For example you merge 900 conductivity copper with 200 conductivity copper and you get a new copper between 900 and 200 conductivity. You should need a special tool or factory to do so an you should be able to experiment the result either. Would improve the fun of crafting a lot and lower database load too.
Last step is to implementwarehouses as storage. Actually we are using houses and dropping bags in them. Each house and each bag takes one room. The idea is to make a modular warehouse. You can drop items in your warehouse and sort them, but you can't drop bags in them. You warehouse start with level 1has 75 room and takes 1 slot. When you need more room, just buy a new extension from your Architect, insert it in you warehouseand voila you have 75 more room and one slot less. Even we need to be able to remove extension to free slots.
TH, could we have a word on this if it is doable or totally impossible please?

Tatooine Pod Races: NOW OPEN
This could become one of the biggest and most fun features in the game, if done right that is.
The first thing that would have to be sorted out would be making an authentic looking paddock and race compound. I would like this to be made very realistic in that the main compound area is around that large rock hairpin just after the start in the films to bring back memories of the films. It should have a very large seating area over looking the start/finish line just as in the films. Scale would be a major factor into making this feature starwarsy. The whole compound would be split into 4 sections.
- The Grandstand
- The Paddock
- The Pits and Garages
- The Track
I will comment on each in the sections below:
- The Grandstand
This area is the most visited and viewable area from far away, basically its the seating area you see in the films. The large 'dog-leg' grandstand seats around the hairpin over the start/finish line. There would be two tiers to the grandstand. The lower tier would be the standard seating areas, available to everyone and provides a great view of the track and race.
Higher up on the second tier you get to the VIP boxes. These boxesrequire you payanaccess fee to gain entry and some also have additional requirements to gain entry. They provide amore refined and enjoyable experience. Imagine looking down at the starting line at the races alongside your friends, drink in hand etc from your own guild box hehe. I would advise these boxes to be extremely expensive such as 25k per race etc to limit the apeal somewhat to group trips and the rich hehe, keep the atmosphere. VIP Boxes can be divided into three types:
- General VIP Box: Accessable by anyone who wants to pay 25k for a place in one of these boxes. Provide a great view from an open wide spanning window, various boxes available and have dancing stages, seats and tables to accomodate your needs.
- Special VIP: Require you tohave completedquests from a certain NPC to gain access again requiring 25k but more favourable view and crowd Also allows you to do certain quests.
- Jabba VIP: Jabba's personal racing box. You must have a jabba race box pass that costs 35,000 jabba xp (when playable faction hehe). This box is the ultimate racing box, personal betting stations, audience with jabba, brilliant balcony area to watch the race and limited access due to costs. This is high level content at its best, only jabbas personnel (jabba faction members) may buy the passes from jabba using faction points however these are tradable and as long as you have possitive jabba faction you would be allowed in.
To gain access to the grandstand you need to have payed theaccess fee of 2500 credits when you entered the compound. This fee gives you access for 1 hour (the duration or the preperations, qualifying races and the final race itself and post match banter heh). You should be able to walk around the grandstand and by walking up steps at the side gain acces to the higher level VIP boxes.
- The Paddock
On ground level you should be able to access the paddock area underneath the grandstand itself. It is all enclosed and contains the cantina, drivers lounge (required to completequests) and the betting shops. This area should really be the pre-race area where about 30 minutes before the race you will see people in the cantina talking and betting on the up coming races. Again ill list an provide a short description of each area:
- Pod Race Catina: This area is similar to all other cantinas except has various racing memorabilia on hte walls and some mini quests from racing fan NPCs to be done providing small racing rewards etc.
- TheDriver's Lounge: This area is only accessable once you complete a quest and once in you can spend your pre-race time with the drivers, you can talk to some to gain some insider knowledge, and maybe even some tips on who is going to do well and who hasnt a chance in hell, but beware..... some drivers arn't very honest individuals and find nothing more enjoyable than watching someone flush all their credits down the drain.
- Betting Shops: The hub of the compound, where money is lost and gained where fights will break out between individuals not willing to pay and screams of job when people collect on their winning betting slips. If a great betting system could be introduced where at random each week a driver is picked to win and its a lottery on who wins and who looses. This would obviously distribute alot of money around the player base and very rich player couldnt just pet on the lowest odds every race to double their money etc. A strong system would making this whole area and feature the most fun in game i believe.
Betting, talking and enjoying yourselfs is all part of the fun at the races. The paddock is THE place to relax and unwind before heading to your seats for the race. 5 minutes before race start players will be ejected from the Drivers Lounge so they can mirraculously move to their vehicles. All bets will be called and must be placed 2 minutes before race start.
- The Garage
The garage is the dirty and techincal area of the race where you can go visit your driver's pit area before the race. You can talk to the mechanic and do various quests however do not impact the race itself, but may enable you to pay to get into the payers racing box occassionaly (random chance). The garage should be very animated with lots of non attackable NPCs doing certain tasks and looking busy. Nothing much to do in here apart from doing quests and learning more about the racers to better place your bets.
The garage is located next to the track and is accessable by heading to the far end of the grandstand and taking the bridge over the start finish line to the opposite site of the track. All players will be ejected from this area to the grandstand lobby 5 minutes before race start.
- The Track
YES, YES, YES!!! Its about time someone brought this up. I am a leader of an all Imperial guild and am PROUD to be Imp. If you cant buy them with faction pts, please let Imperial tailors make imperial banners. The same goes for Rebel tailors and rebel flags. It would also be cool if Imperial Armorsmiths would be able to make all kinds of Stormtrooper armor since the ST armor in game isn't good at all.

- Improve upon dynamic/mission lairs... give us dynamic/mission dungeons. I am mostly a solo player, and my content options are seriously limited by the fact that A) the dungeons I can take by myself are usually camped, and B) all the other dungeons are Instantly Lethal to the solo player (unless they're a Commando). I'm tired to slaughtering swamp gurrcats...
So, why not figure out a way of implementing dynamic dungeons? Go to a mission terminal, pick up one, go to the waypoint and dive in. Have a boss monster or control point at the bottom of it to destroy. Make it so that only that player (or the group the player is in) can enter.
- On a slightly more complicated scale, let us *build* houses. Rather than prebuilt deeds of predesigned floorplans (I am of the opinion that the designer of the Corellian/Generic floorplans needs to be shot), give us 'Lego blocks'... predefined wall sections, floor sections, etc. Give architects a tool to build a house design from these parts and make a schematic from that. Pop into a factory with the appropriate parts to build the house from that schematic, out pops a deed, and you place it like a normal house.
On a side note, I think SOE would benefit from looking at what Second Life is doing. A MMORPG world built of textured 3D primitives... oh, the flexibility possibilities!
- Let artisans build signs, datapads, and other things that people can write on and stick in their house. It'd be nice to have price lists and notes and what not written on these, instead of CDEF pistols stuck in a vendor priced at 99 billion credits with a long description. Or be able to pass information without the email system. Keep journals of your adventures.
- A Resource Market. I've harped about this before, and I'm going to keep harping about it. Have a cluster of Resource Exchange terminals in the major city on each player planet (Corellia, Naboo, Tatooine, Dantooine, etc.)
Player A goes to the terminal with 10k units of Foobarium Titanium Aluminum, and feeds it into the system with a minimum sell price of 3 credits per unit.
Players B and C go to the terminals, both wanting Foobarium. B puts in an order for 5000 units at 3 credits per unit, and feeds 15000 credits to the machine to cover that. C puts in an order for 6000 units at 4 credits per unit, and feeds the machine 24000 credits.
Once ever five minutes or so, sales and orders are processed. Since C is willing to pay more for a unit of Foobarium, his order is completely filled, and 6000 units of Foobarium become available for pickup from the terminal. The 24000 credits that C paid is transferred to A's account, since it was A's sale that satisified the order.
Now, there are only 4000 units left for sale. Player B's order is partially filled at 3cpu, 12000 of the 15000 credits he paid is transferred to A, and 4000 units becomes available to B. B's order is then automatically modified to a 1000 unit order at 3cpu.
The terminals should also have a seven-day history of low/high/average cost per unit prices for resources it has handled. Resources should include metals, ores, chemicals, gases, meat, eggs, milk, hides, grains, wood, etc. Things you can harvest.
- A 'road' object that can be crafted and placed in player cities would be nice. Its hard to feel metropolitan when there's amber waves of grass between your house and city hall...
- Some general client performance improvement would be nice. I've got a Pentium 4 2.4ghz, a gig of memory, and an ATI Radeon 9800 128mb. I don't think there's any good reason why my framerate will be below 30fps a good deal of the time...
