Thread: Great Expectations, Major Schedule Changes and making SWG the finest MMORPG ever
Believe me I know - I was one of the orginal MCH that got hit with the NERF bat and then kept getting promised that is would be fixed - until they finally broke the profession - I'm just trying to make the best of it as I can.. I have lots of friends and am not willing to just give up... I don't know call me a wishful thinker or call me stupid. Like I said I'm just trying to make the best of it - and I hope that this time they listen to the community and fix it correctly...

I really hope that's true, TH. I really do.
This thread represents the cold hard reality of the state of the majority of your customer base. This is what you're dealing with now. All is not well and good here and to go on like it is would be yet another blunder is a very long line of them.
These people have said what has needed to be said, and what has been said, for far too long. I know that SOE will never, ever reverse a decision of this financial magnitude but it now falls on your shoulders to insure that the players are taken care of and not tossed aside like the used rags of lepers.
It's too late to save my account and the accounts of many others but you have some very loyal people playing this game and, no matter how misplaced I feel that loyalty is, they deserve your honesty and your integrity.
Because, in the end, that's all that will hold sway with the people paying your collective salaries. It's all about customer service. Never, ever forget that, even if your superiors, in their pursuit of the almighty dollar, do from time to time.

TH, is there any point? It seems like this decision isn't going to be reversed no matter what. I know a lot of people who just cancelled their accounts yesterday.. and I already have so few friends left from launch. Out of my guild of 50+ members, only a couple play the game regularly (most cancelled their accounts long ago but some more cancelled yesterday).I really want to play this game but you guys are making it so hard. I know it isn't your fault (I don't envy your job at all), and I doubt it is the Devs' fault either but, honestly, I don't understand how you can possibly go on without the Combat Balance. This game is broken and we've been paying a monthly fee for it to be finished (not merely fixed) since day one. Heck, us day one vets don't even get aspecial vet reward for putting up with all this either. We were here before cities, vehicles, or even mounts. It just really gets me down to get slapped in the face month after month.

Exactly, as a developer myself, I all-too-well understand the devestation marketing can cause on a development team's vision. Marketing is the cause of many a product down-fall. I just think this decision is the worst they could have ever made. It's one thing to not rush something, but it's another to put off an issue that is of absolute critical import to the vast majority of players for 9-12 months. Not to mention the many many many countless times "Wait for the Combat Balance" was tossed at us as scraps to keep us happy.

TH,
Firstly, I hope you get to actually read this because it appears to be a full time job just reading the responses on this thread.

Nice post Matt,
My sentiments almost to a T, TH you have one hell of an unenviable task in dealing with this giant powderkeg. I appreciate all you do and can see the frustration in your posts too.
Where the @#$% are the other Devs?
Does JustG ever get in here and talk about issues anymore, crap I know that they read this stuff with the cutesy little posts they make now and again. Enough is enough - I will be cancelling my alt later this weekend, and mymain toon from Day 1 is on life support after this. I love this game but I canonly get kicked in the nuts so many times, I can find better things to do instead of having expectations set and then not met time and again.
