What would motivate me to do missions etc. NOT credits that is for sure. There are other ways to make credits. These quests should take several hours to do (weekend planned raid) and yes, something that would signature that you had done something unusal from the other players. I think the special schematics is a great idea or the skill tapes you can get.

The problem with all these quests is most of them are bugged. I believe that making these quests actually work would probably motivate the players who have been PO'ed about previous failed quests.

It sounds weird, but take a look at the Gamecube title "Animal Crossing". In that game there are various "collections" of themed furniture (like Halloween, Country, Space, etc.) and it's HARD to get a complete collection. This would be PERFECT for SWG loot drops.

"Animal Crossing" is the best game you'll ever be embarassed to play. (Although one more under-developed idea like Holocrons might make this one pretty embarassing.)

How's this idea:

A collection of furniture (or whatever) schematics that are"found" after destroying camps/bases/nests. The collection would be made up of common, uncommon, rare, and exotic schematics. The exotic schematic would drop.1% of the time (that's point one percent), rare 1% of the time, uncommon 10% of the time, and commons would drop the other 88.9% of the time. Here's the kicker: A new "uber-schematic" can't be picked up until the one you looted is sold, traded, or given away. The only way to destroy the schematic is to sell it to the Junk Dealer. This way, even a group of 20 members will have to abandon their "camping" in order to go back to the city and off-load their common schematics before too long. Giving other groupsa chance at the loot.

i think the skill tapes idea would be great. currently, in my opinion, i don't believe skill tape drops are common enough. in fact, i don't believe i've ever looted any sort of skill tape, and i've been playing since june. hmm...it'd make good use of all those sockets in the clothing we wear wouldn't it?

Like someone said, i think that the rewards should be a shirt with like a rebel or imperial symbol on it.....i want to see some shirts with words on them like "Mama's Boy" or summthing

Since this is so not starwars, just have it last for like a half month or so, it would be so badass to have taht....\

if it does happen, ill pay at least 25 millions credits to get a black shirt with "Mama's Boy" written on it in red!

im serious here

I want to say this in all caps because I'm screaming it in RL.
--The best rewards ARE CRAFTING ITEMS! Krayt tissues/pearls, Janta blood, skill tapes, hide plates/segments, RIS armor, etc.
IMHO Skill tapes are the best of them all, but it really doesn't matter. If you want to make artisan PC's essential to the game increase crafting-related loot and then artisans can make even more money on custom orders. Heck, they can even drop enhanced part for EVERY schematic (like the Janta blood replaces BEC's).

P.S. If you really cared about artisanship being essential to the game, you'd throw out the holo system, all those master artisans are gone. Sure there new ones that crafted 10000 practice components that never saw the light of day, made master, and then quit 5 minutes later.

please no uber loot.
please no uber shematics. (uber shematics = much uber loot)

suggestions

1. multipart missions.
some mob should drop items needed for other greater missions in which loot is dropped needed for another greater mission..... for example: first loot drop is a special computer code giving access to a security computer to shutdown defence turrets of a heavy armed fortress.
the killed fortress commander drops a data disk with coordinates of an ambush on something, fighting of the ambush would then result in a "cinematic sequence" (some npcs walking around saying thx and so on ) worth watching! and a honor batch of something.

2. rare and high quality resources:
for example 500 of a resource with 999% of something
this would result in top notch products done by crafters.
this could be easy scaled for any mission difficulties.

3. masses of decorating stuff, skulls of hunted beasts, paintings, little statues, crystals, house stuff, all things someone could collect, maybe pices of a bigger puzzle of a picture, statue or what ever.

4. I WANT RED HERINGS

How about a rebel faction quest that reward is a faction pet really worth having, or a faction perk really, the troops I'm able to get now have a hard time takeing out the amount of storm troopers i get in my missions, so at a adv ranking you should be eliglble for adv misions, cause why would the rebels really waste a high ranking member of their faction on a mision if he didn't have adequate reiforcements

I think that you should have parts of one item ie a special relic (or something of great importance), which are given for completing one of about 10 long hard quests. Then when you combine it all you must sell it to one of the factions (eg Jubba the hutt)which gives you about 10,000 faction points for your discovery and 100,000cr (variable depending on the faction, if the relic is a jedi relic etcthe rebels will more likelygive you more for it), however this item cannot be sold on the market and every 4 months a new set of quests are created for another relic and the old one is scraped (the item becomes usless). The first person/group to create and sell off this relic gets 100,000 faction points and 1,000,000cr which is exactly 10x as much as everybody else. I feel all the quests should need certain skills eg crafter or smuggler so people work together to complete them.

Hope you like my idea :-)

The best thing to do in my opinion is to enhance what is already there.

Going with the skill tape idea and armor enhancementsjust make them better ... You already have the sockets how bout some power ups for armor to enhance stats or other abilities ...like a shoulder mount RPG for your comp armor....or a dieto change the color of any of your items, includeing funiture.

I would give almost anything for a pair of IR goggles.

The more things that would make my charactor more individulized the better ...

More no drop items seems to be in need as well.

How bout a boarding passwith a 100 uses.

You could take things from EQ ...scratch off the name off and make it for here like ...Enhanced running pants.

Super fuel for your speeder. Pet food that makes your pet stong like bull. just to name a few.

How bout a range enhancement for your radar. Oh the list could be endless.
