All I say I sure feel sorry for the staff working this boards. Watch your tounge and think it thru 10 times and then run it thru 2 others atleast before you dear posting it becouse someone can missunderstand it and always think the worst. Then the conspiracy theorys starts, the roumers, the whining kids and what not. I realy started wondering sometimes how ppl can understnad "this like that?!" and a lill further down a dev say in "baby language" how the above dev post was to be understood.

Anyway, i'm more fond of a "spit it in my face" kinda comunication instead of all the "wooly" talk. HIT MEH!

I understand what your saying, we in the States have a saying that is similar to the point you are making in your reply and I will say it loud and clear so Haden can hear it.....

Thanks for taking the time to respond Haden. I really appreciate it. You've done much with this letter to earn back my trust for you and the game.

If I recall correctly, the original question involved smugglers, specifically, being upset over the combat balance coming after JTL. I personally don't know if we ever promised that the combat balance specifically would include a Smuggler Revamp, but I wasn't aware of that being part of the plan. We have talked many times about a desire to do a Smuggler Revamp. I was apologizing if any smugglers out there were upset because we confused the two. We dostill plana Smuggler Revamp. I don't have an ETA.

You have got to be **edit**ting me.

15 programmers? Hmmm... For how many systems and how many lines of code and constant changing game? I'm sorry but you sound short handed by about 10 to me. Oh wait you pulled staff off live to work on JTLS. Is that where their at?

Haden, I'm confused. You said you had nine programmers in your origional post but now you say fifteen. Did I misread something?

A question concerning CH's regarding the combat revamp.

One of my worries is that after the combat revamp is said and done, where does this leave CH's with tameables? I have noticed since the big CH changes went into effect last year, that many of the animals that spawn babies don't do so unless you tap the lair, meaning you are often forced into combat with it's parents. Rinse and repeat many times since several tameables are rare and require quite a lot of lair destroying to even find one.

So, when all is said and done with the combat revamp, where will this leave CH's? Since it has been said that many of the creatures in game are, as the devs put it, "Soloable, but shouldn't be." Many of these are tameable creatures.

Will this force CH into groups just to go looking for tameables because they will no longer be able to tap lairs and engage in combat because many of these creatures will no longer be soloable?

See what I am getting at?...

At Comic Con I'd guess that you were meeting a dozen hardcore SW fans who areplaying SWG mostly because it's Star Wars.

A better opinion of game mechanics would come from those who aremore hardcore gamers, I think. The gamer types are well represented in these forum discussions because we're fans of gaming and enjoy the opportunity to add input. If we seem insistent in our opinions, that's usually why I think.

We really want to take the time to do that because the combat revamp and the Galactic Civil War Revamp literally have the potential to change the face of the game and we want to make sure that it’s a positive change. We really want to take our time on this and everyone in the community talking about the “schedule change” needs to realize that we never said when was coming out and that’s right around the corner. The fact that these are coming after doesn’t mean that they necessarily got pushed; it means that now you know when is coming out.

this isnt a flame just an observation, I have no idea if this statement has been commented on yet, but thisis wrong.

The issue here is I believe this. The Smugglers were repeatedly told they were a top priority for a revamp. I believe that a couple Devs even gave them a date. None of which came to pass. Look at GreenMarines first set of responses when the Smugglers were assigned to him. It was because of past broken promises.

Smugglers are a combat profession. At least partially. Therefore it was reasonable to assume that their revamp would be included in the Combat Revamp. Since the stated object of the revamp was to 'balance' the combat professions it was fair to assume this. Otherwise the question becomes if this profession isn't included in the revamp then what others ones aren't? Then how can the revamp bring 'balance' if it excludes some professions.

The other problem has been the amount of secrecy about the revamp. This revamp was first mentioned in Dec. Since that time the answer to just about any question from the combat professions has been "wait for the combat revamp". You'll see that that answer has been a line for amusement by the players for awhile now in some posts.

The players were told to keep waiting for a system that was mentioned in a number of ways. Such as 'dynamic', 'revolutionary', etc. However no acutaly information about it has been forthcomming. Which has lead to a fair amount of frustration. Our questions are answered with a generic statement, we have little to no information, and this has been going on for eight months now.

Many are also worried that a system will be created with little or no input outside of the Correspondents and we'll end up with a system that is going to be bug ridden or just not work as advertised. Or a system that has already been created yet by those who do not really play the games and are hence likely to miss things that would be obvious to even the casual player. Case in point was the Wookiee armor requirement that required Dantooine Horn to make. Those kinds of mistakes do not foster faith in the Devs. If such a mistake could be made there, what kinds could be made in a sweeping combat revamp that should be obvious? Which is why we've been asking for information for months.

There is a large player base on these forums that can analyze any system to help find the flaws in it before it goes live or even to TC.

I posted this question numerous times before but since you said you are actually going to answer questions, let me reformulate and pose it again:

That money paid for the purchasing of a game is used to make new games is a pretty normal concept. However, time and time again we have been said that the monthly fees are being used to reimburse the financial costs of maintaining the servers, providing customer service and paying for the team that is working on improving the game. However does this mean that the monthly fees are solely being used for the core game, or is there a percentage going to the creation of JTL? If so, how come we have to pay again for JTL when it's being released while our monthly fees already covered the costs?

"Haden, I'm confused. You said you had nine programmers in your origional post but now you say fifteen. Did I misread something?"

We have 9 *designers* on Live, and 15 people capable of "coding" for us, which in this case includes the 9 designers.

I echo the CH remark. You guys depowered us in preparation for the upcoming combat balance (this was what? December 2003?). Well, we've stayed at that "preparation" level now for 9 months with zero compensation for a balance that never happened. You've kept us as a combat joke and hell, the only "love" you gave us was fixing our pets when they spawned and stayed on top of us ('course this was a bug YOU guys repeatedly introduced with your new content). I'm curious, if you nerfed us then there was obviously a plan for the balance, how could you put us at a level without planning? I've stayed CH due to it echoing what I do in real life, a K9 handler. It's been a pain, and to further complicate matters, I'm also a wookiee. I'm apparently a glutton for punishment. JTL is coming and it should remain on schedule without delay. However, you guys really dropped the ball by REPEATEDLY asking us to review In Concept and In Development threads you guys threw at us in regards to combat balance and then just pull the rug out from under us. It's been a trend since I've been playing this game and trends of this nature breed mistrust, as you can tell from the negative posts in this and quite a few other threads similar to this...
