Lithium techies: Are you going to release a hotfix for the major issues covered in this thread? (i.e. the issues that are being commented on by a lot of people, like the changes to the Dev Tracker format)

(the rest is facetious)

And when can we expect v8.0 with the new Veteran Status Unlocking System in place?

Can we please have autoparsing of URLs so I don't have to use HTML mode every time I want a clickable link?

Autologin seems to work (thank god), I went away from the computer for 4-5 hours, came back, hit my forum bookmark, and didn't have to log in.

I have a few complaints about it still not working correctly

A) I still need to login almost every time, even with the save password box checked.

B) It constantly fails to "validate my session" and won't allow me to login for several hours sometimes.

C) It sometimes gets stuck in "Trying to validate through the login server" for a LONG time.

I reliaze that one or two of these could be related to forum traffic, but they are annoying none the less...

Why can't I edit my posts?

I've been a member for a pretty long time now, and it's very annoying, especially at auction sales, that I can't upgrade my posts with new bids and sorts.

This adds a ton of behind the scenes support, especially for moderation. However it does have some advantages for you as well. Here are the Lithium Update Notes.

  • “Save Password” fixed – You now should be logged in when you return if you click the save password box. Hooray!!!

  • Jump-to First Unread Message – within a specific forum (not from the master list) if you click on the number in the “NEW” column, it will take you automatically to the first new post in that thread since you last visited it. Optionally, users can choose to have the jump-to functionally by default when clicking on the subject line by navigating from “My Profile” to the “Preferences” tab, and in the “Linear Format Settings” section, enabling “Automatically Jump To The First Unread Message In A Thread.”

  • Bookmark and subscription links have been altered to highlight and scroll to the message when a bookmark or subscription link has been clicked

  • "Check All" buttons have been added to ease management for bookmarks and subscriptions

Two quick things about the boards since the supposed upgrades...er, three actually, but one might be caused by the other...

First of all, it is not saving my password - Windows is, but the boards is not. I have to log in every single time I come to the site, even if it's in the same browse I was in when I first logged into the site.

Which leads to the next issue - after maybe half an hour (which I can take that long to write a post if it's one of my longer ones) the board I am on blanks out like there are 0 topics in it and when I try to come back to the main SWG message board home, it tells me I am not a member of the Fan Club or need to sign in. Sign in again, save password - navigate from the site and come back and have to log in again or half an hour later the topics in a message board poof. Cleared Cache, Cleared Cookies, etc several times, and reinstalled IE once.

Lastly, for some reason after changing colours a couple of times, the colour palette window goes black and closes immediately without loading. Not sure if that's this upgrade that caused it or something else. Seems to be isolated to mornings mostly, or after more than 10 colours have been changed in a single post.

Thought I would throw that out...

Still seeing New Unread/Old Read messages not updating and still getting timed out of the forums even after using the 'save password' checkbox when logging in.

When experimenting with the Unread/Read message flagging, I found that whether I use the forum navigation buttons, browser navigation buttons or any keyboard shortcuts doesn't matter, any message not marked as 'Read' prior to the forum update is continually showing as 'Unread' even after being read.

Just my thoughts, do with them what you will.

Since the update many of the threads I've looked at are not changing colors in the title. For example it use to get darker after I read a post on the dev tracker, now it only does that if I've read the whole thread not just that specific post. Is there some way I can change that? I often use that ability to keep track of where I left off on the dev tracker between visits. And many of the dev posts are numerous pages that I don't want to have to page through to get it to change colors.

You have to be a Community Veteran in order to Edit posts. You need to have 100 posts, and 6 months of forum seniority before you attain that status.

Lithium-Admin: Can you please give us some feedback on the DEV TRACKER changes? I've read every post on thread, and these two issues seem to be the TOP TWO:

1) Dev tracker is highlighting COMMUNITY MEMBER posts and showing the thread as "new" (bold). The old way was much easier to use, where once you read the DEV post itself, the Dev Tracker showed the thread in the "grayed out" color.

2) When clicking on Dev Tracker posts (and bookmarks, too, in some cases), it is not taking you to that post. It is taking you to the top of the thread page instead.

These are two MAJOR changes that really affect the way we view the forums. That said, the Dev Tracker is almost unusable now. I don't even feel like tracking it anymore with the way it is right now. I can't tell what I've read already and what I haven't.

Are you going to fix this SOON? (Tonight?) You responded to many problems, but they were mostly limited issues (1 or 2 people posting about them). When can we expect an update to the major issues (many many people posting about them)?

Can't edit my post here... I'm guessing it's because it's a thread that was started by a Dev. But just in case, I'm listing it as a bug.

Also, to follow up my previous post about the Dev Tracker changes....

I don't use DEV TRACKER to track the THREAD, I use DEV TRACKER to track the individual POSTS by the DEVS. If I want to read player followups, I use Bookmarks. And I think that's the same for most people who monitor the Dev Tracker area of the forums. That's why I'd like it back to the way it used to be.
