Morning TH...
I think one of the major points to bring up is.. Contraband!
As a jedi andwith another characterwho uses lots of sliced armor and spices, is there any way we can get some clarification on what is or is not contraband.
I assume that Spices and all sliced items are illegal.. as they should be. However what else is?
Im not telling - - thats part of the fun of the game.
Top 5 things to do with your Holocrons:
5) Give up sleep in order to Jedi-grind before the deadline.
4) Sell tothe uninformed before word gets out.
3) Donate to Thunderheart (he collects silly things)
2) Take up career counciling.
1) Promote to Creative Director of SOE.
People are somewhat(read: mostly)opposed to a new droid commander profession becauseof a couple things:
1) It's means spending precious skill points that could be put to other combat skills.
2) It takes away the pretext that droids can be used by anybody.
3) It's too much like theCreature Handler profession, thus competes greatly with it.
Well, here's a few things to consider. The devs obviously aren't gonna do certs because that means disrupting the balance that combat is just now closing in upon. Besides, certs don't mean extra xp/skill points spent to obtain this new power. I highly doubt the DE will get these bonuses and become a hybrid, because that means taking all 4 trees of DE and compression them into 2, making room for DC skill trees, plus promotes dabbling. A mini profession is unlikely because that pretty much ruins the profession layouts we have right now, and the Devs don't seem to like that idea.
Solutions?
Keep the idea of a DC profession. However, make it attainable from ANY master profession. (Basically, if you are the master of any profession, you qualify for DC).
- This not only satifies the Devs will a full profession with XP/skill point requirements, but any profession can potentially get it, including entertainers and politicians (those pesky polticians need bodyguard droids from all the slander they give =P).
- It spreds the DC skills apart enough to prevent elite-dabblers from simply taking advantage of a few trees of the profession, especially since it requires a master profession in the first place.
- It makes room for more posibilities. You could use this new profession for not only high-level droids, but attack VEHICLES. You could name the whole thing "Machine Commander", or something like that.
This seems like a very easy to accomplish thing. Easy for the devs to implement (in a manner of speaking, of course). Satisfies most of the players concerns, and most of all, leaves nobody out. It also paves the way for "certs" for high level vehicles, comabat bikes, vehicle weapons, ect, and puts them in a place that balances them for the devs automatically (since they require skill points to take advantage of).
And there you have it.

From there, Im speaking with the Dev who made the cool Sword item about making a great schematic to drop for you guys, but it is too early to tell yet. The trick is that a brand new weapon means new art, new development, etc. I simply can't come to you and say "we're working on it", but thats the deal atm.
A elite should be better then a Laser Carbine ... As of right now its not , Man the Elite only needs better hams , and speed , The damage i can deal with .
If this was given to wookies this would help fix the now armor problem ....
Just a thought .
"We fixed your sprained arm, good news - it will never trouble you again. We amputated it. Now stop crying, don't fret. We'll compensate you for it. A year or so in therapy with the mechanical arm and you'll be fine."
It would be a better game with no player Jedi. No way to open it to some without opening it to all. I'm very interested to see how I will be compensated for basing every aspect of my professions so far onpreparation for theJedi path - without opening a Holocron at this time.
In a separate issue, with theme park rewards boosted, why can't those who have already completed them before the boosts be awarded the difference in reward between then and now? The character record of who has done the theme park before is already tracked or readable: the character has a badge for it. Why should players have to trudge through all the same missions they've done before? Is duplication anyone's idea of fun in a game? Seems akin to saying something like: "We've revamped TKA. All of you who were TKA before the revamp will not gain the new abilities unless you start over again at 0/0/0/0 with 0 xp. Have a nice day."
TH,
As the poster said above, there will be a farming frenzy on quests for the FSS slot. So I think it would be a great idea to develop the old tried and true EQ style of "No Drop or No Trade" on these quest items. I think one of the major issues that is really weighing down the economy and the fun factor of this game is the professional "Farmers".. There really is no need, and everyone should have the right to do the quests.
Another idea would also be that once you completed the first part of the quest, you could not do it over and over. Or that you have to speak to a certain NPC to get the item to pop. Now I know what would happen then, you would get the people (like you did on Corellia) that will follow other players and steal their kill. So make it to where the only one that could loot the item was the person assigned to the quest.
I think this would help out alot of people, and put a stop to alot of griefers and spawn jumpers.
