Well if I understand right onley 3 bases to each player? Well i have 5 Reb HQ at the moment and working on my 6th. Am I going to loose thease?

If so would it count if 3 were on my jedi and 3 were on my second slot?

PvE bases definitely aren't clear at the moment. I assume they can be defended by players, since who is gonna place a base if all it does is give the opposite faction something to have fun with?

With respect to the comments about PvP-enabled players being able to stroll in and take down a base single-handed if only PvE players are defending, I don't think that's an issue. Shutdown procedures remain the same, so those PvE players could, in turn, walk up to the terminal and abort the countdown without the PvP player being able to attack them.

However, the reverse situation still has a problem - if only PvE players attack a PvE base, and there is a PvP player defending, can that player abort any shutdown attempt without being killed? That would require PvP attackers, and you're back where you started.

May I suggest that instead of responses to specific questions on the PvE bases, someone on the Dev side, or Thunderheart, should rewrite the definition of who can do what, and get it checked out with a couple of other devs to check for loopholes, then repost? As it stands, something just doesn't seem to add up.

And, congrats on some great-sounding changes - I'm sure there are more details than can be easily posted in an announcement, so it's a little early to be worrying when things are clearly moving a good direction

Base Vulnerability

  • All existing bases will be treated as PvE bases.

  • Will existing Base deeds also become PvE bases?

As a light PvE jedi I kinda wonder if this new vision will ever include me

Hmm I dont like the idea that people can attack your PVE base while not PvP enabled and destroy it, while you have to sit back not able to be anything.

Well, one thing we have to consider is that they aren't "your" bases per se. They are the Empire's bases and the Rebellion's bases.

The purpose of these bases is to run around and shoot NPC's of opposing factions - - for fun.

PvE bases will count towards planetary control, but not nearly as much as PvP bases.

Thunderheart will Faction Turrets still be Vulnerable 24/7 or will they only be vulnerable when the actual base itself is vulnerable?

Turrets will be PvE, though it is a complex system and we'll need to get lots of feedback while these changes are on Test Center.

Gosh I'm simply overwhelmed at all this good stuff coming our way!

    Thank you!

Would it make sense to have a way of telling numbers of Imps/Rebs/Civs (even if just by %age) on a server as a onesided war might be a little dull - knowing that there are 60/30/10 for example might inspire people to change sides and even things up a little or better still the 30's go actively recruiting the 10's hehehe.

my suggestion on the PVE base would have to be something to the effect of if you are within 32 meters of an enemy shutdown terminal for more than 5 minutes, you are turned PVP (special forces). This will allow players that are PVE to contribute to defeating NPCs of the opposite faction, but not participate in the base destruction sequence.

There has to be some type of player way to defend the base besides the NPCs. Having 5 players that are all combatants (PVE) go into a base, whipe the place clean, then destroy the base while the you just sit there with nothing to do (since they are unattackable by PVP-special forces), is not so good.

We are not forcing people into PvP anymore. It is a playstyle choice that people should make, not have it forced on them.

PvE bases are there for PvE players, and are defended by NPCs, not players.

Ok Im am IMperial and I buy 1 PVP base and I will get 2 PVE bases. What will the faction of these PVE bases be?

    what about base defences?

Are turrets and other base defences actually going to be worth their cost and be improved....especially since the main defences of bases(secrecy and time)will beslashed??

Also is there any way we can see on the world map(since these bases will be on the world map) if a base is being attacked so that others may help out if they see a base being attacked or in danger?
