Thread: ID3 Vehicle Garage Placement
This is great news!
I'd like to make a suggestion about Player Garages:
1. They should only be available to Metropolis cities, because putting them in every city will drive people away from the main cities.
2. Only Master Politicians should be able to place them - that way there is a reward for mastering politician and those guys can stop whining! lol
Here's my thinking on this... personally, I co-run a shop with my partner who is a Master Artisan. We have no desire of setting up the shop in a player city. It is quite fun, and really gives a traditional "merchant in the wild" kind of feel that adds a lot of fun to the game. So why not give a structure that we can use that allows any player to stop by and repair their vehicle?
"Hey, while your vehicle is being repaired, why not stop into our shop and peruse our goods?"

Garages on all advanced planets (lok, endor, espcially dathomir ECT ) should all have some garages, as its a pain to head all the way back to say correlia just to repair. Baring the dangers of advanced planets, the vehicle is the most used method of travel.
Ok so maybe its unreal that theres a garage on a tiny outpost, but hey, sometimes realism has to take a back seat to gameplay. ![]()
Dantooine badly needs a garage. I'd think the imperials at the outpost could afford one.
Bestine needs one.
Theed needs one closer to the starport. (this is minor, but Theed has multiples ofmost buildings)
Ideally, they should be in every city. But definitely Bestine.
You also really, really need to add garages to the /find feature. I could do without adding any more garages if I could just find the ones that exist.

They allow Master Artisans using a Droid and Repair Module to repair the vehicles until we get a full "mechanic" postion.
We've got to stop thinking as "adventure" planets as places you run for an hour or two and run back. Once the Space Expansion hits, jumping to Corellia every 10 minutes isn't going to be an option. Space travel is going to take time - and while those planets are not developed people are going to be spending larger chunks of time there to make the experience worth it.
Unless players get the ability to repair vehicles, however, we need them repairable on all 10 planets by other means.
Think of them as gas stations and not a mechanical repair facility.
