As promised, we have circulated the list of issues and had our post mortem about yesterday.

First I would like to officially welcome our new Senior Producer, Gary Gattis. Gary is going to be an invaluable member of the team for helping us to put good processes in place. Please take a moment to read his introduction letter. It talks a bit about where things are after yesterday. Blair will make another post in the next couple hours with more information.



Secondly, we have been compiling all of your issues regarding this Update on the Announcements forums. There are a number of issues for us to deal with, but you’ll notice that many will be fixed by tomorrow. I’d also like to point out that most of the items in the update worked as intended. I’m not using that as an excuse; we certainly know there are too many issues for comfort, but I would like to squash the inaccurate accusation that every time we fix one thing, two things break. The truth of the matter is every time we fix 100 things, 8 things seem to break. That number is not acceptable and we’ll work to bring it down.



I will edit that post as I get new information. Feel free to use this thread to respond to our current list (especially if you have more information on a particular issue). Additionally, Rogue_5 is collecting more information on specific issues.


We realize yesterday was a difficult day for everyone. I hope that our efforts from yesterday and today will show that we are dedicated to making a fun and stable game for you to play.

I cannot heal my AT-STs with stimpacks.I get this message:


"Target must be a player or a creature pet in order to heal damage."


These AT-ST were bought before this patch and the stimpacks were made before the patch as well, if that makes a difference. I tried this on 2 seperate AT-STs.

DNA sampling aggros didn't make the list. Please give the BE dev a nudge. This will bring cloning to a standstill.

Q - the update notes do not address the issue of doctor buffs timer NOT resetting on death. Buffs go away when you die, but you can't be rebuffed until after the initial buffs would have worn off. If this is intended it's a serious nerf for doctor's earning potential. Kills the only real value add doctors have in the game.


Also, I can verify that when buffs wear off sometimes players get incap. My action is at 835. I buffed my action to do some sampling. When the buff wore off I was incapped for 100 seconds. No one tried to heal me so I can't verify that if your healed when incapped from buff loss that perma incap ensues.

I'm guessing the issues with Tortors now being social was a stealth Nerf that is 'working as intended'?


No mention in issues you have QA looking into it

Things i'd like to know are..


Why are bugs from beta coming back with every patch ?


Why aren't you fixing broken classes ( DE & Chef ) before fixing ( nerfing ) ones that work ?


Why do you just ignore everyone who helps you out on the test center ?

Q, thank you for posting...However there was one thing that caught my eye in your current "problem" list.


The 75% PvP reduction is not a clerical error....The damage I used to have on torso shot was 220 or so in PvP, it is almost always 55 or so now. Somehow the 75% reduction was placed in again, on top of the current 75% reduction. Also note, there is no mention of another 75% reduction in the patch notes, so this is not a clerical error in the patch notes.


I could try take some screen shots of the floaty damage to show you, I am not sure if that will help however.

I'd like an official response on whether or not SOE or the devs will compensate those who have to feed 2x the amount of energy into their structures. Give us a coupla days free of charge on harvs? Refund each and every one of us some energy? Or just leave us twisting in the wind?


What's the official word? Yes, you'll fix it, I'm sure you will. Enough people are complaining. But what will you do for the people that are paying the price because some developer and the QA team was too careless to verify their changes?

Are Graul Maulers no longer spawning babies? If so, were any other creature babies made "extinct" as well?

Q3POAR/AP and resistences on mobsare broken. Not only Armor. I use headshot3 on a newbie mob with my AR3 T21, in combat window it damage 2k but the mob loose only 200-300 damage. No im not talking about krayts. Im talking about level 12- mobs. How come its not in your list?

Thanks for this. It has been a difficult time I think for everyone (including the SOE spouses and kids that probably didn't get see you guys much at all last night).


I don't have a list asI had to sleep before the game came up for me last night, but I would offer this. I think Bug Fridays are a great idea to dealing with the issues. In light of this patch, would you consider allocating 2 days this week or next week to bugs regarding classes or other things?


I think the simplest, most effective way to getting everyone looking forward again is to not only get past this patch but also push out a fix to some of the simpler bugs affecting every class...even if they're minor...so everyone feels love, and everyone feels like they got something.


I think most people really aren't thinking Space Expansion at this point.

I may have been a little annoyed yesterday I'll admit it. I come home from work and look forward to playing a little SWG and taking out some frustration with the flamer, however... The downtime did allow me to do something I haven't done since I started - I went to bed before it was the next day.

Unfortunatly most people you hear from will complain about how many bugs there are, or how they lost a few XP points. Sir, thank you and everyone who contributed to this game. I haven't actually played a game (other than some racing stuff on my ps2) since quakeworld Team Fortress, nothing "did it for me".

Well, you guys (and I'm sure a few women too) managed to do it. I'm sure any issues with this patch will be worked out.
