Welcome to the weekly Open Discussion thread.

For the In-Concept threads you see in this forum, please stay on topic in the specific threads so we can get focused feedback; consider them "Focus Threads". If you have general questions about the process, new concepts or other types of comments, pleasepost themin this thread.

(I'll be out of pocket next Monday, so we're going to run this thread for 2 weeks)

now that theme park rewards have been revamped...

i think it would be a great idea to revamp faction perks, or, the equipment you can purchase from recruiters with faction points.

all the factional weapons are pretty expensive (in terms of faction points, consider every 1k fp costs about 100k credits), and factional armor is definately sub par.

So basically, the schedule for the upcoming weeks looks like this:

Mini Publish for geonosian dungeon.

Push Droid invasion to TC

Test Droid invasion on TC

Push Droid invasion to live...

Can you insert "1 or 2 SE screenshots" somewhere in there? If you have some time... I know you don't have alot of time to do these things... As JustG put it to me yesterday on TC when i was talking about you:

"That dude is BUSY!"

few ideas on buff windows:

take a look at EQ buff window and you could add like:

* different colors for classes of buffs (H/A/M Drugs Food etc...)

* a way to click off a buff ended it right away and being able to recast it

Hi!

I would like to have Bantha Mountable,

hey its one of the first 2 mounts seen in SWG,

together with the Dewback in Episode 4

Maybe even CuPa, as they seem to use a TaunTaun-like

body. As a secret hoper to see Hoth sometime

(Space Expansion), i really would like to see

them.

Any chance of getting an official statement on whether or not the FSCS qualifications have been changed? Although it was stated that no changes would likely be made until publish 7, there are many many rumors and accusations of stealth nerfing be made on several threads throughout the forums.

Any feedback would be nice

thnx

Thunderheart, you've probably already heard about this a hundred times this morning, but I think the biggest question of the day is regarding whether the FSS system is turned off or not. Is it still active or not? Tons o talk about it in the Jedi forum.

I would really like to see the main character NPC's being played by humans. Obviously it would be rather impossible to have them walking around and interacting 24-7, but an occasional trip out of The emperor's retreat would serve them well. The Empire should recognize those players who host an event in the name of the empire, perhaps by sending Vader to attend. Who knows, maybe a planned "chance encounter" between Vader and Luke could occur, with some high powered Jedi battling. Maybe Vader could question other Jedi as to the whereabouts of luke. Perhaps Han could make an attempt to pay Jabba, and be sighted at Jabba's palace. Who knows, the options are endless.

Everyone says that Galaxies should be MY story, but I maybe would like my story to include the Main Characters more directly.

Just a thought. (also if you need anyone to sit in as Luke or Vader for a day, give me a ring)

GCW Structures for Architects. It was one of 10 questions submitted (oh, hey, anyway to get an answer on those?). Is there any plans in the future to add such things as GCW Structures?

Thank you.

How hard is it really to have a house customization tool as with vehicles? To color your house and house trim.

Thank you for the new loot! I got some cool stuff running quests on Dantooine. I even got an "artifact" that when I place in my house gives off light! I don't have to use torches any more! I also got a cool schematic for a shield generator. Very cool. Thank you!

I see this game getting better all the time with each publish, and there are a lot of us out here that appreciate the work you guys do. However, there are just a couple of things that I'd like to see:

1. More music! There shouldbe very few times in the game where it is silent. It seems the only music I hear are when in battle, at sunrise, and at sunset. Recently when I did the Emperor's Retreat music played when I got close to it. That was great! I got chills down my spine when the Emperor's Theme played from ROTJ! This is what we need! Just more music all around the galaxy. Can certain music be triggered when we cross a server boundary or enter into a new area?

2. /find garage. I wish that it was possible to find garages in the cities using the /find command. I know where there is one in the closest city to where I live, and I only found it by driving around the whole city until I found it! The whole time I was hoping that my Swoop didn't blow up before I found it! It was like in RL when I drive around looking for a gas station when my car is on Empty!

3. In-game advertising. I know this would take a lot of work, but it would be nice if there was a way for crafters and service classes to advertise their goods and services without having to use /shout. It's just a theory, but I think some of the lag in places like Coronet and Theed would be reduced if my PC didn't have to render 100 chat bubbles when I step out of the starport. I'm not sure how this would work, but maybe a terminal or something where people could register. Maybe even have a billboard type object (ala Coruscant in Episode II) that flashes player ads on it. Of course, the messages and content would have to be limited. I'm sure there are better ideas out there for this, but it's just something I thought of while here at work!

Again, thank you devs for your work, and I look forward to seeing your improvements in the future!

With all the improvements to the game, I'd still like to see some improvement to the targeting system. We're expected to do combat in real time, but the current next/previous target interface isn't remotely suited to real time. The best way to sum it up is that you can never know whether a given command or action will target the mob you want.

This makes it much too easy to accidentally target lairs and neutral bystanders, and much too difficult to target the most dangerous mob currently attacking you.

Furthermore there's almost no way to see whether you've targeted a mob you're autodefending against, since the yellow reticle overrides the blue reticle. Especially if the mob is one "a [name of creature]" out of several.

There have been many past requests to at least cycle only targets that are attacking you, to avoid aggravating more mobs. Other LucasArts titles, like the X-Wing series, have this. But the devs never comment about it. Could we at least hear that, for some reason, improving the targing system would be difficult or impossible?
