Thread: IT 7-5: Junk Dealer Revamp
Continuing the loot system changes will include the rebirth of the Junk Dealer. As part of this change, Junk Dealers will have more robust conversations, be willing to buy all different types of NPC loot drops and become a new source of income for players. Player will now be able to go adventuring, collect the various loot drops from NPC’s, adventures and dungeons and take it to a Junk Dealer to sell. Junk Dealers won’t buy just any junk either. Different dealers will specialize in different kinds of junk, so players will have to explore and find out which dealer deals in which kind of junk. Be sure to talk to the various Junk Dealers to find out which junk they like the most!ffice

How did the new Junk Dealer system work for you?

FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY!
The cries of the players have been heard... a revamp ofJunk Dealers!
Guys, THIS IS A TESTCENTER BUG THREAD.
TAKE YOUR WHINING ABOUT ISSUES ON LIVE BACK TO THE LIVE BOARDS, PLEASE.
No revamp, other than an updated interface, is apparent with Junk dealers. I tried every junk dealer on Tatooine and they all offered to buy the same items for the same amounts and none over 103 credits (and that an assembled disk of message fragments that I gave to the Imp recruiter for a little over a thousand credits.)
Great idea!

Only way anyone will be even the slightest bit interested in this concept is that instead of credits, you can trade in specific junk items for rare/unique schematics or other unique items, perhaps house decorations. C'mon, there are 100s of furniture items in NPC buildings that players can't obtain.....just let us trade some junk for some of those maybe.
I must say this change is pretty worthless. Since there is too much money in the game, it would be better to change junk dealers to be vendors as well as buyers. So, players wouldbe able to buy various items from junk dealers, probably something like subcomponents used in crafting, maybe light sources, etc. All lower quality than crafter-made, but still useful.
I know this is a testing center thread, but my point is that this change should not go live because a better solution can be found for revamping the junk dealers.
- black sun medallion
- mangy vest (part of new char equipment)
- engraved ink pen
- a used ticket
- infiltrator leggings (loot drop)
He did not offer to buy a player made shirt I had in inventory.
Bug: I noticed today that if I had all my saleable items in an equipped backpack in inventory (one level down), the dialogue choice offered to me was only: "I am sorry, but I don't think I have anything you would want."
If I moved even one saleable item into the top level of inventory, then I would get the dialogue choice: "I have some things you might be interested in," AND the npc would list all purchasableitems on me, whether they were inmy top level inventoryor my equipped backpack.
