Looks like Guild Wars has dancin' for any of you contemplating change. Most likely not as a profession but it still looks mighty fun. I'll be playin' that tomorrow while Flurry is down to have the CU forced down our throats. The whole CU has me bummed but this video put a smile on my face.

Hmm...interesting. I'm going to have to check into this.

So far, I think I've seen at least 5 different styles of dancing.

The fat guy pulling a John Travolta, Saturday Night Fever move had me in tears.

Is that the Thriller dance?

It looks pretty good. The characters all look pretty god too. Maybe I'll have to reconsider my hatred of fantasy swords and sorcery games.... Naw, they still suck.

I played in the last Beta weekend 10 days ago, and dancing is an emote (/dance, in fact). It seems that the dance you perform depends on your character class... although I only tried ot once, it could be that there's some randomness involved. It could also depend on gender.

Anyway, I had a Ranger, and I did the breakdance thingy as well, while a friend played a female Mesmerizer, and she had a different one

Yes, but you can only do one and it depends on your class which one you get. It's the same way in WoW, but based on races instead of class. Worse than that though, there are no flos!

In AO, we used to get pretty creative. There were like six(ish) emotes for dances (/ymca, /ballet, so on). You could string them together and mix in other random emotes like /pointleft, /pointup, /flex, and whatever for some pretty neat effects.

Anyway though, it's still not Dancing like we have. I use whatever dance emotes any game will give me (ask Ubi and Lei, they saw me in WoW ), but SWG is the only game with real dancing so far.

I miss it like crazy when I play other games now (yes, I've always played more than one SWG still has my heart though. ).

Yeah...I kinda started piecing together that the dance you get is based on class/gender. It still looks fun though.

Like Panthu said, alot of games have emotes for dancing, but this is still the only game that lets you actually dance. It's why I keep this game going despite everything. I love to be able to just log on and make a beautiful dance in the privacy of my house or go and bandflo with some friends.

In most of these other games, the dances are great the first few times you see them, but they can't hold a candle to what we have here in the forms of dancing.

It's not her dedication that's won me over. O_o
