It's just a couple of people. I think this is the outsider opinion though. It's not like tons of people are posting and saying "yeah, we need public bots!"

Just goes to show you, not matter what they do, people will go out of their way to find a way around the buffbot issue

kinda discouraging after finally dusting off the ole' entertainer. but it IS a relief to know it's not becoming a standard thread on other servers!

my sad attempts to point out their "macro" flaws went unnoticed though. .

All there is to do is watch the post and add all the people who say how great it would be to your list of people to laugh at when they ask for a buff.

The two people who said they've been able to successfully AFK macro the elite buffs are worrying me though.

I have a scary thought on how they could do it, but I dare not voice it

My question is this... why is there a "line" for buffs?

I can target & select a different buff for any number of people at one time....

Only reason i even remotely encouraged their talk of macros was to get him to say he third partied it. i so wanted to bust his bubble.

btw../insp chef will bring up the selection box. It will not select anything from it. Now that would be pretty dumb to add a line command in a system where you're trying to prevent using a line command for automation, wouldn't it be? /smirk

Yes, it would.

But how many of us are convinced the devs are really on the "live" side, and not just trying to placate us while preserving the bots?

Sorry to be negative, but...it's hard not to be.

and..

Hope you feel better! Fragrant cheese time.

Whatever they think they can do with an AFK macro, they can't.

Unless they use a 3rd party macro to click the appropriate buff, they cannot select various buffs to apply.

Besides, in the time to cycle through the buffs, the person waiting may as well just go find an ATK Ent to get their buffs that they like and be on their way.

I really think the Devs did this right - I'm not concerned with people AFK'ing the elite buffs...but I'm still unhappy with how easy it is to AFK an Entertainer in general. At least our most valuable buffs aren't AFK'able, though. Removing BF also removed people's feeling they "needed" AFK Entertainers or they couldn't play...but for some reason the Devs left in AFK'able general buffs. I don't get it, but whatever. The current system is leaps and bounds better than what we had awhile ago.

This class was healthy, strong, and beautiful. Somehow though, we got gangrene. So they had to amputate most of our best features.

Yes, we removed the gangrene, Warryyr, but we are not where we were before the affliction. Some would say, we are better off now that we are well. However, I say that I'd much rather be the strong, simple, elegant, healthy, and beautiful profession I once knew, rather than have most of the best features removed from it, or complicated.
