For all the dancers that feel like/are quitting...
For all the dancers that wonder why they still log in...
For all the dancers that fondly remember how it used to be...
For all the dancers that are tired of being an at the keyboard minority...
There are a lot of us but we're spread thinly over many servers, this was apparent in the 'Theed protest'
Then why don't we pick a server and all head there? At least until things start looking up.
I think this would have several positive benefits for us all.
1) It would give the Devs and general populace on the servers that we don't pick a taste of things to come if our dancers were to continue quitting at the current rate. A server populated by buffbots and no one in player cantinas.
2) It would give one server a taste of how things should be with live, fun entertainment. A place where buffbots are over-shadowed by real entertainers.
3) It might make thingsfun for us again.
4) It would be a cool way to protest without being 'in everyones face'
5) It would be easier to organise 'in your face' protests
6) If your quitting anyway then what do you have to loose?
7) Lets at least go out fighting.
If anyone thinks this might possibly work or be fun simply sponsor which server you think we should migrate to and why.
I know a lot of people (including me) would sponsor their own server but if your quitting that server anyway whats the point?
A change is as good as a rest or so they say.
Starsider-
1) Very large RP community.
2)Several well established entertainer guilds:
Slave~ RP Dancer guild made up of Jabbas elite slave dancers.
Pixie~ The Neutron Pixies - Mos Eisley RPdance troupewith links to the criminal underworld.
Ent~ A guild dedicated to live entertainers
3) Kwee and Panthu both live here (hehe)
4) Help would be given with clothes and image design work
5) Silly broadcasts a kickarse radio show from here

After I attended the Bria Cantina crawl I created my first dancer on... Starsider!
But I think several servers have very active Entertainer communities so it would be hard to choose just one (Bria and Scylla come to mind). But make it a standing invitation for people who are looking for a live server (like I was). Hehe. While re-reading I realized that that is what it is, so ignore my babbling.

Since last week, when Javier posted his hypothetical question along this same theme, this has been on my mind.
There are a couple of reasons why I think it would not work, long term.
1) The majority of people I have spoken with about this over the past week have voiced that they would never consider leaving their friendships on their current server.
2) It would eventually prove detrimental to the state of our profession in the game to have all the live entertainers on one server.
However, I do so love the idea of everyone being able to log on the same server if they choose and party together.
While the idea of protest tempts the anarchist inside me, it is really my own selfishness that motivates me to this end. I am tired of worrying over what is or isn't good for the professions, for balance, for the servers. I'm not inclined at this time to think far beyond what would be fun for me. I'm playing this game to have fun, not to fulfill a developer's vision.
I have been very successful on Chilastra. I have credits beyond what I can spend..trust me..I've tried. I run a decent faction/pa independent town that participates in server-wide roleplay events and doesn't allow buffbots. If other entertainers wanted to move permanently to Chilastra, I would be more than happy to fund their move with clothing, housing, vehicles, accarragm and a chunk of credits. If players want to visit or have a little vacation time there, I'd be happy to make that very easy for them as well.
Please don't mistake this as a ploy to get others to join a pa..I'm not in one. Nor is it an attempt to increase the population of our town..I've no need for that. I don't think I've been in a full group of live entertainers but once since last July and after the fun of the cantina crawl, I want that feeling back..every day.
With my personal resources I could provide this for 100 players today. However, I would prefer to wait until July 15th to see what others have to say and just get this straight in all our heads.
I have the feeling that this will come down to a lot of little groups all wanting everyone else to move to their server. That's fine. I can move anywhere. Since the crawl I've been on Bria almost every day, even though my obligations on Chilastra will keep me active their for a long time..I just don't play Chilastra exclusively anymore. I'm able to make this offer for the server where my business is established. Wherever we end up, I'll be there.

Instead of pumping up the entertainer community on a server that has an established population of entertainers, how bout everyone goes to a server where the entertainer population isn't as dense... Like Chilastra.
Seriously though, I couldn't leave my server because I've all ready got far too many strong ties there. Lots of friends made in my PA since before the game was even released.

I don't know but it sounds like your clearly stating that we all should go on Starsider

Everytime people make these "lets get our own galaxy for us dancers" "Go to my galaxy" "im bored, I need more pa members in my ENT pa, go to my galaxy" etc.
It's all about their self-interested and personal gain. Many entertainers already have characters on Starsider and some of the more popular galaxies. It seems like a good idea to "you" because you're already on the galaxy. You have credits, you have the skills, you have contacts. But the entertainers who go on your sever have to start fresh and no one should have to start fresh.

Having a party server is great fun. After the first Cantina Crawl on Bria, I intend to attend as many as possible. But, beyond that, I don't plan to spend much time there. I just want to get together, hang out, and have fun with a large group of posters (and non-posters) from time to time. But, I mostly agree with Esharra, I don't like the idea of all of us permanently going to one server. For one thing, as pointed out, most people don't want to leave everything they've achieved on one server for another. Also, I honestly don't like the idea of everyone doing that. We need all of us on many different servers to fight the good fight. I would never want to be "forced," albeit passively to feel like I had to go to Bria, for example, because there was no other likeminded players on Kettemoor for me to hang out with anymore. That would pretty much suck for my gameplay, and I *really* don't want that to happen.
It's sort of the same reason I refuse to join an entertainers only PA. I like diversity, and I want diversity in the PA that I eventually join. I agree with the devs original idea of diversity and interdependence. That's what I want out of my gameplay because that is the most fun for me. So, yeah, I'm willing to party with you all from time to time on Bria (or wherever), but I absolutely refuse to give up on every other server. We need to be there to salvage what we can from the other servers. Kettemoor is probably one of the top 5 servers in regards to entertainer respectability, so I got lucky when I chose my server. But, I don't want Kettemoor to fall the way of so many other servers that are having problems. So, I'm staying there, I'm helping to foster the entertainer community and hopefully see it grow. I think it's important for us all to do this on our home servers.

Seems you missed the part of the message that said:
'If anyone thinks this might possibly work or be fun simply sponsor which server you think we should migrate to and why'
Also its more of a post to get the people that are leaving/becoming disheartened onto one server where we could possibly build a huge entertainer community. As i said here:
'For all the dancers that feel like/are quitting...
For all the dancers that wonder why they still log in...
For all the dancers that fondly remember how it used to be...
For all the dancers that are tired of being an at the keyboard minority...'
No where in that list does it say
For all the dancers that are happy with theirservers and characters that they worked so hard for.
Hope that clears it up for you Blamj

That really isn't a fair post. You're expecting other entertainers. Who have worked hard on their entertainers to become master dancers or Musicians. To drop their profession and to head over to your galaxy just because of your word? I really doubt it. Plus alot of people who have entertainers probably already have characters on Starsider and Bria.
