Thread: Bots do more good than harm
In the overall scheme of things we do way more good than harm. I wish more bot owners and bot customers were aware of the topics on this board and would speak up.
I'm in here talking about this with you guys in the interest of my customers and the customers of my fellow bot owners. I don't want them to go away and neither do my customers.
I hope that, at the least very least, my voice will been heard by the Devs. And if I'm lucky, I'll help them make the right decision. The right decision is to keep the macros and keep the bots.
So, yeah, you need to have a mind buff to enjoy the game sometimes.
I've grinding master dancer 3 times and master musician 3 times. Every single time, there is like 1 or 2 guys that stay on and take turns being leader so that the group stays full. Every other person is AFK running an auto join macro, auto heal macro and auto flourish macro.
Talk about discouraging people from becoming entertainers.
And BTW, I do spend time at my keyboard as well. I help loads of people with training. I make instruments for people. I help people make sure they are maxing their XP.

PVP is a perfect example. If you want to last more than a few seconds in an even PVP battle, you you have to have Food, Drink, Spice, doc buff and mind buff from entertainers.

If that's true, that indicates the need for better combat mechanics, not for buff bots. I'm not sure it's true. Several of my guildies participate frequently in PvP and do reasonably well, even when they're not buffed by entertainers.

Well you wouldn't be successfull any more. Go try it out if you don't beleive me and do yourself a favor, get cloned and try not to spend too much on your doc buffs.
You have to have it. Especially now with the new doc buff resists against poison and disease.
Combat balance will always be an ongoing thing. PVP templates are constantly changing. When changes are made it takes almost no time at all for people to figure out the next best template.

They're discouraging people from becoming entertainers who entertain while AFK. They're not taking away macros. They're just changing macros so you have to hit the button periodically. They're making it so you can't go off to sleep and leave yourself logged in to master a profession while you're not even playing the game.
They're encouraging players to actually play the game, instead of writing macros to let it play itself.

I'm constantly fighing groups of people that have mind bars over 3500 and extremely high regen stats. People with maxed mind stats that they then stack buffs, food, drink, spice and powerboost on. They can spam specials all day, and regen almost immediately when they get hit.

This still indicates a combat mechanics problem.
And you can still get buffs from *gasp* live *gasp*Entertainers if buff-bots do get eliminated. You'll just have to ask them more or less politely for the buffs and maybe even give them some token of appreciation for enabling you to enjoy the game more fully.
All these people who depend on buffs to fight and consider them "necessary" to their profession are going to be VERY upset when combat is rebalanced and most of them will quit I think. Why continue to wreck three entire professions to benefit people who will be quitting anyway? Its mind-boggling to me.
Eight months of dealing with hordes of afk players and bots have not convinced the Entertainment community that their profession is just as enjoyable as it was before. I doubt any of the current posts on the boards at this moment will do so. All they are doing is making a lot of people VERY unhappy and making the Entertainers even MORE vocal in their dislike of buffbots. Noe bots are to blame not only for ruining the experience in-game, they are responsible for ruining the forum experience as well. You are not going to garner support for bots using your current methods.
EDIT: Damn. Ignore doesnt work like that.
