Heyas, Dancers!
While visiting several other servers attending variousevents, and meetingseveral more members of the Dancer and entertainment communities than we usually see on the forums,I had this crazy idea...
Coming to a Galaxy near you!
SWG Dancer Correspondent Deila Karlossi will be visiting selected servers over the coming months in a series of Correspondent Fireside Chats!
Purpose
The professionforum communities throughout SWG are but a fraction of the playerbase of those professions. As the representative of the feelings, thoughts and desires ofthe active players ofDancers throughout SWG, I would like to create the opportunity for Dancers who do not frequent the forums to voice their thoughts and ideas directly. One way to accomplish this is to hold events on different servers, where interested Dancer players can come to discuss the profession in a relaxed setting.
Form
Correspondent Fireside Chats will take place in a large, quiet location... tentatively the Tyrena Theater (may vary from server to server), for anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. Interested Dancers can come to discuss these main points regarding the Dancer profession.
Fireside Chat Meeting Agenda
- What are your top 5 things that you love about the Dancer profession?
- What are your top 5 things that you think are issues/problems with the Dancer profession?
- Howwould you like to see the Dancer profession change with our coming Dancer Revamp?
- Open discussions (time permitting) *
* Time permitting,I will be available to answer questions that players may have about the profession, the Correspondent program, and just general 'what's going on' updates, to the best of my ability.
Promoters Needed!
To make this program a success, I'll need your help.
Which servers may be interested in such an event? Are there dancers on your server who'd like to get more involved, but aren't regular visitors to the forums? Do you have an active Dancer community who would come out for such a thing, and would like toparticipate in discussions about the profession?
Would you be willing to spread the word on your server about the Correspondent Fireside Chat, and let your galaxy's Dancer community know the date, time and agenda?
If so... then you may be perfect as a Fireside Host!
Please respond in this thread if you think that your server would benefit from such a discussion and visit, and if you'd be willing to coordinate the event on your server. Scheduling will begin as soon as I get some solid feedback and interest in the Correspondent Fireside Chat idea. I'll post a similar thread to this one in the participatinggalaxy forums as they are scheduled.
Thank you in advance for helping to get a greater voice from the community as a whole to the SWG devs!

Tarq - You can come to my theater on naboo. I will bring you lots of entertainers that actually entertain and that are afraid to post here thanks to the regulars snapping at them and one starring every post they make.
Give me a solid date and time and I will make sure you have an audience.

/volunteer for Tempest.
We're small, so I can't promise a large turnout, but I know of a good number of dancers there who don't read the forums and care a lot about the profession who would be interested.

Wow for the quick responses!
As a side-note, I think that this program idea is less about having a huge turnout, and more about getting a better representative sample of the Dancers (in particular) and all entertainers (in general) perspectives on things. As I've said, we all know that the forum communities are but a fraction of the overall playerbase, and this idea may just get their voices a bit more involved as well.
And that's my role as a Correspondent - to as accurately as possible represent the profession as a whole. What better way to be a representative than to get out there and find the rest of the dancers who don't post on the forums? If you can't bring Moses to the mountain...
So, don't worry as much about sheer numbers of attendees. Worry more about the passion for the profession of those dancers on your server. If you have dancers who care, I want to hear from them in an organized event where we can sit down and talk about things.
Now, there are a lot of servers out there too. If we did one Fireside Chat per week, it would still take a good long time to get around to all of them. Naturally, I'll have to narrow things down somehow at first, if response is huge to this idea. How do I do that?
Pitch me! Why does your server need this to happen? Tell me about how manydancers you have on your friends list that you'd be able to mail to spread the word... how likely it might be that those people would forward that mail to other dancers... whatever it takes to spread the word! Get out there and see if members of your server's dancer community are into the idea, and point me to those threads in galaxy forums... let's see who's the most excited about this kind of an opportunity, and who'd really like to see this thing come to pass. Umm... okay, at least show me that there's some interest...
Edit: added 'pitch me' ideas

Well, I can safely say that Tarq needs help badly. Live entertainers are slowly being completely replaced by bots. On top of that the few active live entertainers that are left really feel like the community is against us. Both here on the forums and in the game.

I'm definitelyinterested in helping out on Chilastra, and will look for you on Ahazi when you hold one there
Chilastra seems to have a rapidly shrinking number ofdedicated live entertainers (my friends list is slowly becoming rather dark, and Theed had zero live entertainers out of about 15 present this morning at 9am). However, I think the ones that could be persuaded to attend something like this have an increasingly deep understanding of the status of our profession, and I've started to notice the presence ofsome fairly enthusiasticnew entertainers (although far less than I wish I could have, since I've been out of the cantinas as a regular performerfor some time now).I've met several opinionated dancers in the past weeks,as well asseveral entertainer/combat hybrids.I think including them in the 'forum community' would certainly be beneficial.

I'd be glad to help you out if you want to hold one on Flurry. You've already gotten to see many of our active entertainers, and I'm sure we could get a good group together for something like this.

I think the dancers on Starsider would like this, especially the Neutron Pixie dancing group. I know I'd support it.
