Thread: Naboo Theatres?

My quest to find a theatre has begun. It's becoming blantantly apparent that the alt one of our guildies has to be mayor is quickly becoming a buffbot as well, as she is afk in our cantina 99% of the time. I am a bit of a b**** in the fact that I refuse to dance next to a bot. So I am flying all over Naboo (Corbantis) looking for a theatre.

My questions are these: what's the average price range for a theatre and how many lots do they take up? I am willing to disassemble one of my houses so I don't have to compromise my ethics.

(sigh, and now I have two people I have told about my quest for a theatre telling me they don't see how bots hurt anything and all I want is the money from buffing)

I have a theater....

They take 3 lots, usually gonna be in the 150-200k price range (based on resources used, inflation on your server, etc) but they have one major and depressing problem if you plan to use it for entertaining....

The stage area is considered outside. Therefore you can't place items there, heal there or buff there. The tiny backstage area can be used to heal and buff, but not the actual stage area. :/

Have you thought about placing another cantina in your town? You can have as amny cantinas as you want in a player city. The city I live in on Tarq currently has 5 cantinas along with my theater

I'm sorry your "friends" don't see fit to support you in this... I know several members of the community have gone through the same situation though.

Theaters require 3 lots and are placable in a level 4 city.

I can't even guess as to a cost--my theater was given to me as a tip. Besides, prices vary wildly from galaxy to galaxy...so the best place to price a theater would probably be on your server trade forums.

Before I found a city to place a cantina I used a large Naboo-style house. I had the downstairs circular area decorated as my "staging area" with couches and chairs surrounding the areas, I had a room set up as a dance studio where I could work on routines without having people see me doing spazzy moves and I even had a room set up as a "dressing room" where I stored outfits. Later I added a medic recovery room as well but that was because I tended to do quite a bit of healing at the time.

If your city won't allow you to place a second "official" cantina, you might try using a well decorated house instead. I believe the large Naboo house now takes 4 lots and holds 400 items (please correct me if I am wrong about this) so it's "cheaper" than a cantina and you have more decorating options. It's also really flashy to work out a nice routine where you dance down the stairs

Pay no attention to the dorks who "don't get it". As hard as that may be at times it only leads to frustration and depression and I've noticed a lack of chocolate recently so it's best to just ignore them.

Aye, but it's the principle of the thing. A large house won't show up on the map, I can't register there so no one will know I'm there if they need to find a dancer, etc etc. I have a large and a medium house at the moment and push-come-to-shove I do buff there sometimes but there's just something about the whole cantina/theatre/hotel atmosphere.

I'm still on my mad search for them. So far I've only found a Tat theatre. I live on Naboo.

I also agree. If the city managers are that uncaring of your needs and profession, move to a city that wants and needs you. There's a lot of cities out there that would be delighted to have a dedicated and ATK entertainer and cantina owner in their city.

I'm the Mayor of our city and my alt is working on master dancer. Our past Mayor was a master musician and owns our city cantina. Our master Doctor's alt is workingon master musician. We have a few other entertainers in town as well. We are not working on a buffbot team. We all agree that afkers and buffbots are detrimental to the profession and the image and reputation we have worked so hard to gain for our city.

We're doing it for fun, and plan to have live shows with future events. Our cantina is our social hub where the citizens and guilds gather to goof off or group up for hunting. The stage is also the perfect design for fashion shows and comedy acts.

We use our cantina. An afker or buffbot would ruin all that for us.

I have told everyone that if they see an afker or buffbot parked in our cantina, to let me or a militia member know so that we can city ban them. If it is a citizen doing it, to inform them that is against our city "laws." Repeat offenders will be removed from the guild and all guild and city council support would end.

What citizens may or may not be doing in their private homes, I don't know. But if I found out they were running a buffbot, it would be strongly discouraged. If someone wants to run afk in their home just to grind, that is fine. At least it's not on the "public" stage where the rest of us are trying to put on a real live shows and have a social environment.

So yes.If I were being disrespected like that... I'd go find a city that suited my playstyle and needs.

I've lived here over a year, I love it and I love my guild. I may have a talk with the guildy who "runs" the bot and tell him how I feel. Maybe something can be done about that. Regardless. I want somewhere that I yeild the power of the /ban button for anyone who dares to afk. And maybe someday I'll have my own cantina. For now, I bought a theatre from a friend for a mere 75k

If the attitude of the city planners wasn't enough to convince me this was a bad town, endorsing the bot certainly would. I totally agree with n'Jessi.

I too agree with this. Plus, if it's YOUR cantina and not someone else's, I would put the offender on the ban list for the cantina... and make sure I was the only one on the Admin list.

I agree completely. Was just offering an alternative if they won't let you place a cantina.

Hmmm, I honestly wouldn't live in a town where a buff bot were allowed in the cantina. I used to live in a town where the cantina allowed afk grinding in the alcoves to the side, and that was okay, because it was to the side and nobody paid much attention to them or used them for heals when there were live entertainers (the afk-ers weren't running buff macros or anything either).

But anyway, back to the town. I would move out. But that's just me.

It isn't always this easy... Sometimes cities change and people do.
What do you do with a friend who looses interest in a dancer and becomes more and more a buffbot in a player cantina? Say "You're not my friend anymore, since I cannot tolerate and my hatred towards buffbots is more important than my friendship!"? I rather invite them to dance with me when I catch them atk.
Normally even the best guilds have buffbots in their cantinas if they aren't entertainer guilds. That doesn't mean they are bad people they just don't think about it.
Someone pay 15$ extra a month to provide friends with buffs, who would say anything against this "devotion". And why not from their point of view? If there weren't buffbots around they'd use canapé / brandy, so at least entertainers do not loose any busyness by that kind of behavier. (In fact chefs loose more money to buffbots than entertainers do imho)
The thought that real entertainers simply don't like to be ignored, dance beside the dead or be treated like an automaton does not come into peoples minds and may even sound silly to them.
