Hiyas!
Need some opinions...
A friend of mine was performing in a public cantina that houses one of the popular buffbots and noticed that every few minutes he would get a deny serivce message from the bot. It was obviously part of the macro. He's not given any reason to be denied service other than being an exclusively live entertainer (as in he's one of the nicest people I've ever met, and I know hasn't said anything rude to the bot or its owner).
So am I right in thinking that this is a new tool for griefing live entertainers? /denyservice messages show up even if the person is on ignore, correct? So how do you stop getting the continual system messages that make the area inhospitable? I feel strongly that this is griefing targetted at live entertainers to keep them out of the area.
Am I wrong about the addignore thing? Even if I am wrong, I still think it's griefing to target a person by name until they are forced to addignore.
Opinions and suggestions?

They ban for /invite macros so report the /deny macro. It's the same kind of grief tactic.

Unfortunately it probably won't show up in /report, but definately file a harassment ticket on it. That is a form of harassment. And try the /report anyway, maybe I'm wrong on that.

An update...
I posted from work, and when I got home I found that a CSR did confirm this as griefing and disconnected the griefer in question.
So there we have it. A single /deny is fine but don't go spammin' it.
Thankies for feedback!

Naw, let him think that, and next time he does it, he has a "server burp" for 7 days

Wonderful! Finally! I hope that the griefer was given a warning so that they know how and why they lost their connection and don't just assume it was a server burp!

just out of curiosity, are they writing their macros with a list of known Live Ents into it?
Not that I care to replicate their horrible tactics, I'm just wondering if there's some kind of Black List circulating amongst these buffbot people.

Theres usually no *personality* if thats the right word, behind a buff bot - they are oftenjust used asa tool and not a *character* so i doubt they bother to make friends with other buff bots.

Forgive my stepping into this conversation - There is usually a personality behind the bots, but they often play more than one character. Those people meet through their mains and exchange info in that way. I know I personally play with the controllers of several bots on a regular basis and they're constantly trading macros and tweaks and such for each others bots.

I am loving the fact that the bots actually come here and post freely about running bots. The list of guilds that I won't do business with is growing by the post! Any organization that condones this behavior, is an organization that I cannot support financially......
