ok so entertainers wont attend their characters, I say we go on strike, go to a cantina if you have BF.

DONT TIP. and ONLY heal when YOU absolutely need their dance or music for YOUR health and well being.

this terrorist organization hold 33% of the buff power in the game and REFUSE to play their characters.

so CUT OFF their MONEY.

see how they like getting cut out of 1/3rd of the game

something needs to be done and FAST.

I understand your frustration. I really do

But a strike won't work in this game. What would you have us do? Not have any atk entertainers work any more? That will just encourage all the more afk entertainers. Not have players go in an heal? That won't work either. Half the players in this game rarely read or come to these forums. They'd never know there was a strike. And a large majority of the combat players, honestly, wouldn't care. They already see us entertainers as a requirement that they don't want to have, and would rather see us go away as is. More than enough would still go in to heal so that the impact or a strike would be minor at best.

There is really nothing we can do but wait and hope that the devs help us. The change in how you unlock your Jedi skills in publish 10 should at least alleviate some of these problems. At least then, the only people who will be playing Entertainers will be the ones who specifically chose to for one reason or the other. It won't stop the people who are making healing bots, or people who prefer to play afk 90% of the time, but at least then the only entertainers will be players who specifically want to create one.

It won't solve all our problems by far, but it is at least a step in the right direction.

so true,

its just so frustrating to try and obtain a buff from these hologrinders.

i know 5 masters and even they are afk 99% of the time, they log in, and leave. and their afk macros do practially nothing against griefing idiots that group them, then stay in a group just so one side or the other cant get a buff.

I doubt a large scale strike could actually get off the ground. But, as an ATK entertainer, I already participate in this line of thinking. I don't really need anyone else to heal any of my wounds or battle fatigue. I can cure everything myself because of my TK meditation line and my dancing abilities. But, I absolutely will NOT get a buff from a buffbot. And, I will absolutely never tip anyone who is playing afk. I suspect most of them don't care, though some do as is evident by the constant "tips are appreciated" afk spam. But, they're not getting a tip from me. As an entertainer I do feel the need to support my fellow entertainers, but the line gets drawn with afk entertainers. I feel it's more important to support the ATK entertainers, they are the ones that actually care about our profession. As a dancer who doesn't need any of his wounds healed by anybody, I have been known to tip based on performance. There have been several times that I've walked into a Cantina and the big group was playing 3 different songs at once. I've seeked out a smaller group, or an individual musician that is playing something I can dance to, and I will dance along with what they're playing. At the end of my dancing session, I will /tip the musician who has made it possible for me to enjoy my dance. Sometimes they'll be all surprised and ask why, I, as a dancer, was tipping them. And, I've made no qualms about telling them exactly why. That is, they played a song I could dance to, weren't part of the big group that was butchering the songs, and provided me with enjoyment in the game. And, I'll even give that final push by saying that I hope they continue to follow this policy of actually entertaining and that there are people that really do appreciate that. It's just my own little way to encourage ATK actual entertaining.

I'm still trying to figure out if the OP was sarcastic or just clueless. Just for your information, if AFK grinding were banned you'd probably see that the people who are happiest are entertainers.

Oh, and money ? lol. It's not like entertaining is generating any phat tipz or something. I can make more money doing delivery missions in the same time.

I got tipped by TWO people today while I was healing in the cantina, and I was FLOORED.

NOBODY tips their entertainers anymore. Trust me, we wouldn't be losing out on anything.

He thinks we all like the Zombies and wants to"ruin our economy" so the Zombies will have to play ATK.

Ha! He's a little late.

Iaido - Most AFK Dancers think they are doing players a favor... most live Dancers are very annoyed with the AFK situation. I suggest you tip all live at-the-keys Dancers very very very well if you would like to help promote attendance.

Making the game more hostile for Dancers will not help your cause any.

A group of entetainers put on a show in the Theed theatre tonight and offered free buffs to encourage people to attend. I thought that was a great idea, but someone countered with a droid parked in front of the cantina called "Free Buffs".

With offers like "Free Buffs" you don't have to go on strike.

I also agree ... there is no steady stream of money coming in when you entertain in cantinas. Also.. a good entertainer won't need a heal... he or she would be buffed OR they will have already migrated their stats accordingly.

I happily buff individuals, groups, etc... I am always ATK and if I need to go AFK for longer than about 5-10 mins I will stop dancing and sit down

I like my job... it's just a pitty most people do it these days for grinding purposes.
