Thread: Your Ideas for Dancer-specific Pets

Greetings, Dancers! This is something Panthu discussed with me a few days ago, and she said you all might welcome a thread on the subject.
I know one wish of Dancers is for pets that enhance your dancing performance (whether in a strictlystat-based sense or just by providing additional "ambience"). The Creature Handler community has also sought ways to make our pets more valuable to other professions and to give them useful niches.
To that end, I'd like tosee a collaboration between our two forums. You know what Dancers need better than anyone else, and we have experience on the creature side of things. Let's pool our ideas for new pet abilities that Dancers would find desirable. Panthu had mentioned "wearable pets" (like a snake or a bird perched on your shoulder) as one possibility. I'd be eager to hear any additional ideas you may have,so we cancollectand refinethem in this thread.
The goal being to compile ideas from both the Dancers and Creature Handlers, and draft a proposal for the Devs (probablyat some point afterthe Combat Revamp). If this works out well, who knows...other professions may be interested in jumping on board, too.

ooooh me too! I want one of those!!
I would like to have pets to add an ambiance and to spice up our performances. Someone had a dancing monkey which was great fun, and attracted quite a few people.

but seriously since the beginning i've wanted a little monkey to dance with me .. like a purbole or something

Ummm...
I've always wanted a pet that could do an *interpretation* of the flourish I'm doing. Though they couldn't do all of them, if my pet mimiced my flourish every so often, it'd be a lot of fun. Or, a pet that could do a little dance while I'm performing - even if it's their own thing. Some kind of /petdance1 or something.
I really like the idea of a wearable snake or a having a little bird perched on my shoulder!
Really, I like the idea of having an animal truly "trained" by a skilled Creature Handler that could do somesaults around me while I played (i'm thinking Vir Vurs somersaulting around performers would be awesome, and kind of adorable heh). Or, some other "stupid pet tricks" that my pets could do to draw attentionand perform. I mean, in real life, people can train animals to do some incredible stuff!
Maybe some kind of tippable pets, along the lines of a trained monkey holding out a tip cup (or some such crazy thing) while I sit and play music - that can be influenced by the observer. We all saw the nightmare that was /summon (before it was fixed) so we know that pets can be influenced by outsiders. If you could do stuff to an Entertainer's pet like /rubtummy or /scratchbehindears or something, and the pet reacted, people would get agood laugh and might be inclined to tip for having a cool pet.People should be able to play with other's pets, but only if the player who has the pet is an Entertainer - maybe with a /petentertain command or something. The novelty of it alone might make people tip more. There could be new skills gained by CH's with CH xp which would allow training of these special tricks that the CH was skilled enough to train. There should be a ton, so that people could really have unique acts and unique pets with crazy abilities.
OK, I'm done. For awhile

Pets whose tricks focus on us or on a target of our choice would be nice - like a bird who will swoop around you in patterns while you dance.
And of course they need to be colorful - and be able . And maybe you could give them "accesories" like streamers that the birds could hold as they fly. Or if not have an option for them to have the same kind of animations that we do when we do specials - the red streak. Or have ID's give them holoemmotes we could activate. Hehe. Crazy ideas. 
I REALLY like the wearable pet idea and I think a lot of people would go for this - not just entertainers. As a Master Creature Handler I would love the ability to wear three different pets at once!
Also (and this really belongs in the Musician thread - I'll go see if you posted there) have you considered pets who makes noise? A pet who will hum or sing with the music as a kind of back-up instrument? If you have ever read Anne McCaffrey's DragonSong/Dragonsinger/Dragondrums trilogy you'll know exactly what I mean. She had small singing firelizards/dragons who would trill accompaniment to her music.
And of course its a given that I would love a minature reptilian flier to sit on my shoulder!

If you can get me a Fire lizard . . . . oooooohhhh . . . . . .what do we have to do . . . . . .who do we have to bribe . . . . . . I'll do anything short of trading in Kirah for this kind of enhancement.
And if they sing . . . . ummmm . . . . no, still can't trade in Kirah . . . . . .How bout a sister-in-law?

Actually, when I first read the title, the hotter of the Tusk CatRiders came to mind...if those were CH tamable for Dancers.... I'm afraid the only man in hawtpants who came to mind was me, dancing with my Tusk Cat Riders.

Oooh!! One of my best friends in game was a Master Creature Handler for the longest time, way back before all the huge nerfs too. I kept begging him to get me one of these.... all I got instead was "NO! No Ewok for JOO!"
Ah well... I think the idea would be great. I'm not sure what kinds of pets, but obviously being able to train them to do other tricks than the two that each kind gets generically would be good.

If dancer wasn't so messed up I'd be over in CH forums complaining about how wimpy my arachne widow is and how fast my screechers die in PVP
By far my most popular pet "props" are my trio of rasps. I generally give them patrol points throughout the cantina and have them fly around while I dance.
What's also popular is, as Ingrata said (though she was talkin' 'bout someone else!), my monkeys because when they are in formation they will dance along with me by spinning and occasionally hopping. Of these the Woolamander and the Giant Veermok tie for favorite, but any of the various monkey skins are popular.
I would LOVE to be able to have my birdies (or birdie) sit on my shoulder, as you mentioned. The snake idea sounds rather neat as well.
What I've heard people say they want to do is tip the monkeys, much like organ grinder monkeys. That would be rather interesting!
I would benefit from more comprehensive pet formations in this respect -- I could easily have low level monkeys BEd for me and have multiples out (and those endor rock monkeys are < CL35 I'm thinking) but it is a bit awkward because they don't really get into formation well. Neither do my birdies when they're not patrolling -- they kind of get into formation at first but then quickly fall out.
I'm going to think a bit more on this topic and chime in later. It's honestly not really something I've put too much thought into, though I've obviously used what tools I can to include my pets in my dancing so far.

Have someone tame you either a low level BE woolamander or a Shaupaut from Naboo, make sure it has column and wedge formations trained.
Call it and give it a command for either formation, then dance a "bouncey" dance such as popular or footloose.
