Thread: Inspirations on TC5

here.
The buffs work good. Very simple and useful. When the buff is applied you get a little icon showing you that its working, similar to the way buff icons work in live but its placed below your HAM.
Some people are right, it will turn every novice Entertainer AFK-skilling into a buffbot if they want or not.
And think thats the root of the problem.
As I've said, this is for me mainly a matter of respect not to earn money. Buffbots have their part in why we don't get much respect, but it somehow all comes down to "you can play your class competely afk, why should i respect that".
Even that I have to /setperform for buffs doesn't help really... every buffbut either macros that or circumvents it. So basicly its all passive anyway already.
So I think I'll try to not see those new buffs as something bad, especially since I can't prevent them anyway - they will come, perhaps in slightly different ways, but they will. Don't think it will change a lot for me anyway really.
I just hope they do a few things:
- persistend /deny list. I want to add jerks that I don't like there, I don't want them to get buffed or healed by me, ever.
- remove AFK macros at some point

oh yeah..Tiggs said this...
This isn't live it is a version of Test Center. We have read it all and are moving it to Test Center for testing purposes. The inspiration buffs are a small part of a bigger picture that is not ready to be revealed.
here.
Well, you can put it down to the cynicism that is a direct result of playing an entertainer for almost 1.5 years now, but that does sound more ominous than encouraging to me. Whenever I read a Dev-statement like this, the first question I just have to ask myself is "What other ways have they found to mess this up?" I do not question the Dev's good intentions here, but I have long questioned their competence and ability to make the correct decisions, not just regarding entertainers.
*shrugs*
We'll see. At least that statement by Tiggs means I won't have to post in the feedback threads for now, because they have already acknowledged they are aware of the problems we have with not the concept of the buffs, but the implementation of them. And that's at least a start I guess.
- Dancers and Musicians BOTH give the EXACT sameinsperations?
- Any Idea what the time diffrence is for a Single Master Vs A Double Master?
If both give the same insperation then why requiredouble masters to give the buffs at the fastest speed? I mean it seeems to me now would be a really good time to make the 2 professions equil yet separate... Allow people to pick one or the other and still be able to give buffs in teh shortest time. Make it so performers don't have to shell out millions of credits on +25 skill tapes for BOTH professions.
I really wish it was you pick daner or musician not because you want to give the fastest and best buffs but because you want to be a dancer or a musician..
P.s No offence intended to persons who want to be double masters. I just think there are people out there who are double masters because they fell like they HAVE to be double masters to be usefull.

Keep in mind..what we are testing right now is a Entertainer profession level skill. It is appropriate that a dancer and a musician would be able to do the same thing at novice Entertainer level, just as with wound healing. A player will be able to apply the enhancement more quickly as they move up in the elite trees.Theoretically, a double master will be able to apply them even more quickly, howeverthere are no eliteprofession trainers on TC5 so we haven't tested that yet. With a mastery of oneelite giving the dancer or musician the abilityto apply the buff in 1 minute, it probably isn't going to be that important to be any faster at applying this Novice Entertainer level enhancement.
For the record and speaking only for myself..I'm master of both Musician and Dancer because I love them & of Entertainer because I love my mando..if I didn't love them..(read: addicted to them), I seriously doubt I would have bothered to masterthe3 profs 3 times each (working on #s 4 & 5).
