You are the BEST!!!!!
Oh...and we're having a BLAST in the cantina.
In my book having fun in the game equals "winning". Looks like Dancer serves its "purpose" for you just fine.

Oh...and we're having a BLAST in the cantina.
People stopped and watched all afternoon and into the early evening. We got moral support from nearly everyone. I hadn't make those kind of tips in MONTHS. They asked about our new props and quite a few noticed that Bunduki is a new dance. Some commiserated with our loss of BF healing. One asked what use we serve in the game now. To that man, someone in the crowd said, "Those girls look damned good, and I will continue to see entertainers perform AND tip them." He gave each of us 50K and thanked us for continuing to perform.
People in that crowd went out of their way to tip EACH member of the troupe. I have not been as well received while performing for many months. We weren't tied by xp to the cantina, and every member of the troupe was at their keyboards and having a blast.
One man dropped part of a combat profession to pick up novice entertainer and play music for us. He said that he hadn't had that much fun in the game in quite a while. We all got /friended and we're looking forward to doing it again.
I look forward to the new buffs. I think the props are splendid.

We did the same thing, too! Last night we were doing the new dance and switched out props. We'd first get in a box formation and then start the dance. One person doing the /bandflos. We were making tips, too, just for doing something so cool! And when it was "nighttime" in Theed? OMG! The props were amazing!!

Well I guess it just varies from server to server. I tried the same thing, but solo, on Tempest. I was asked to leave from the front of the Coronet Starport because I was causing lag and disrupting people thatquote "we're here to play the game, why don't you go back to the cantina" unquote. At the Dantooine Mining outpost I did get one person that did like the new dances and the new props commenting that they were very nice. At the other four starports I visited and danced at there were zero comments and zero tips. The only very few customers I had come into the three cantinas I danced at all were there to get their BF reduced! LOL
However, the props are all very kewl, the new special effects are wonderful and the new dances are great.
what will we do when they are bored with us and dont stop to watch anymore?

1) Be happy dancing in cantina with other ents chat but basically do nothing. Do the odd performance for special events or just to show people what ents can do.
2) Realize the profession has no inherent value besides looking good, drop it and take up with the combat crowd.
Now the patch whilst introducing some very nice effects will eventually (if not already) lead to noone besides other ents visiting cantinas. The game is very much tailored to combat and id guess always will be, with nothing of value to fighters they wont come. Removing forced reliance on ents is the next step on the continual line of speeding up gameplay, quicker shuttles, JTL instant travel, faster vehicles, easy buying through the bazaar etc.
Soon the pace of the game will be so fast people wont stop for much, the social aspect in the game besides team PVP will dissappear. Now im all for option 1 because my dancer is my alt but for those whos entertainer is their main whats left?
You then have the choice of removing SP cost so they can take up combat as well, reducing sp cost of the profs or even more drastic remove ents altogether. Unless the devs communicate their view for entertainers in game and the purpose they have for them then i see only the two options above.
Entertainer revamp part 2 coming Soon(tm) - rights reserved smugglers.
I'll take option 1.
I really don't understand why people are irate at having one less use in the game as an entertainer. No one ever said that an ent couldn't be an ent and do something combat or crafting oriented at the same time. I used to be a master swords to go along with dancer, and now I've taken up tailoring. Heck, my best ingame friend is a master dancer and a Jedi for crying out loud. She dances for FUN, even though she's concerned at the changes as well.
Let's step back a few months, before the CU. How often was a master dancer or musician reluctant to give a mind buff, or didn't want to hassle with it because they were busy chatting it up? A lot. I know people that would take down their master tags just so they wouldn't be bothered, and now we're all complaining about not having a purpose? It looks like a lot of people got what they wanted.
Dance because YOU want to.
