Have the Devs learned nothing from screwing us out of the OLD respec?
Here we go again, same old **edit** different week.
Blah blah took away my game, let me choose what I want to play if I don't like the changes blah blah blah.

Tell them to make it right. As it should have been at the very start of this whole process.
Entertainer should not be considered a penalty when it comes to respecs, it's about time the Devs got off their high horses. Overhaul the game and let the PLAYERS decide what they want to do. Don't force them down a path in the game, that's ludricrous.
Blah blah blah /wookieeroar.
The End.
Lol..I'm a step ahead of you here babe. Yeah..we've all given them our feedback regarding this.
No one has said for certain but I suspect that this respec method may be a result of previous complaints regarding players using entertainer and crafting professions as an easy way to a full templatewhich couldthen respec into a full combat template at the CU.

Which was a direct result of their dunderheaded allowance of AFK grinding with Entertainer professions.
That's the Devs' problem, not mine. We've all been saying for like, forever, how stupid that is. Don't punish me because of some combat clods who take advantage of a system. The Devs picked one hell of a time to suddenly get a conscience.
They just need to do what's right and allow an Entertainer or crafter to do whatever they want to do in this new system.
Quite frankly, I've dealt with the hologrind AFK'ers. I've dealt with the Mind buff AFK'ers. I've dealt with the CU respec AFK'ers. I could give a flying womprat's **edit** about people AFK grinding for this. It will be no different than the game I've been playing for about 2 years now, anyways.

In addition Eshie, remind the Devs about how much work is seriously needed to Master a crafting profession. It's not easy, nor cheap in the game. Compare that to mastering combat professions now, which take a few days if serious effort is put into it, AND they get paid to do it (mission payouts).
So.....why exactly shouldn't a crafter at least be allowed to convert to full template combat? If a low level person wants to mad grind a couple crafting professions to get a full combat convert - hey, more power to 'em. It takes a lot more time than just grinding out 2 combat professions.
I agree with the Fuzzy One here. Thing I'm most annoyed about with this NGE would be the respec nonsense.
- Dancer for freaking ever counts as bupkus. I don't have any remainding token respecs and even so I shouldn't have to change my current template to try different things in the system. Folks who have been playing and sticking with this game just as long as me get to be insta cool jedi, spy, etc where I am ultra lame noob jedi, spy, etc. Why? Was my time spent in game worth less? And like Warryyr said, the AFK allowance isn't our fault yet we are getting punished for it? Again.

If you want to make it so people don't AFK grind entertainer up so they can template, make it so folks who were level 1 Master Dancer/Musician/Tailor/Chef/etc 2 weeks ago before we heard about the NGE eligible to respec as if CL80.
Or make it a veteran reward. If you have reached ... I dunno picking random number ... 600 days in SWG, you are eligible to respec as a CL80.
Leaving us out is NOT the answer. Traders are in the exact same boat and it's really not fair to us loyal entertainers to not get the same chances to really fully try other professions like others can simply because they are CL80. - I can respec to a full blown entertainer, and get none of the rewards
I'm sure this is on purpose because of the number of respecs but the last final respec at least should grant you all the goodies the new entertainers are getting. None of this ADK woo you can regrind it and get it all crap. I've done my time, gimme my goodies.

I'm sorry but they are full of it.
They have said that combat will now be based on player skill. If that is true, then it should not matter if someone AFKs to Grand Master Entertainer and then respecs to a "full template" Jedi. In the first place, he won't be full, he'll be full-10 levels (since he'll be 80, but the cap is 90). If he really has no combat skills, he'll be owned by the level 80+ content in short order.
They can't have it both ways. If this is now a game where player skill matters more than anything else, then who the hell cares if someone respecs from Dancer to level 80 bounty hunter? That player will either have the skills (in which case there's no problem, and he/she "deserves" to be level 80 anyway) or won't (in which case there's still no problem because the high-end content will kick his/her hiney).
I mean think about it. Imagine they let someone who has never flown any JTL ships before respec to a full master Tier 5 pilot. What do you think will happen when that person goes into space and has to deal with tier 5 ships now? LOL... ka-boom! In short order too, I would imagine. It's the same concept -- JTL is not about character skill, it is about player skill. Which is why, since I have very little skill in that area, my characters all stopped at tier 2 and never got past that -- because no matter what their skill boxes say, I, as a twitch-player, cannot beat the tier 3 ships. So respeccing to master pilot would do me no good!
Again... THEY made this a twitch game. THEY said what matters now is player skill rather than character stats. THEY claim this is a good thing. THEY are touting it as the best thing since sliced bread.
I take them at their word. It's all about player skill now. If that's so, then character level is irrelevent and there is absolutely no reason why they should care that a full template entertainer becomes a level 80 combat character. Either that entertainer's PLAYER will have the skill, or not, and that should be all that matters.

LOL, this is just another way to ensure that non-combat players leave the game. They do not want a full rich environment. They want a shoot'em up game that kiddies can play. Kids will cycle through the game quickly. They will play to be a Jedi. It's too bad no one ever thought of a game geared towards Jedi, they could have even called it Jedi Academy or something along those lines.
Star Wars Galaxies is dead and wasn't even given a decent burial. If you want to continue to pay to play then you had best respec to or grind to CL80 before the NGE hits Live. Then become a Jedi like 90% of the player base.
Welcome to the Next Generation...
That's why I think they should have just taken Entertainer and Crafter out of the game. There's clearly NO intention whatsoever to support these playstyles, and they're doing everything they can to drive us away... so why bother to keep these 2 classes?
I think at this point it's just appearances. They know they can't claim a diverse and immersive experience if ALL there is to do is combat, so they left the crafting/entertainer stuff in. If you're willing to pay them for a half-baked prof, they'll happily take your money and let you play one. But don't expect it to be developed like the other profs, because it absolutely has never been, and will never be.

Assume someine is a CL 80 now.
He respecs to Master Commando in the NGE, is a CL 80
Then he thinks "Ok I got those 10 respecs, meant to test all professions".
He respecs to Entertainer
He wants to respec back to Commando again after a while
Will he be CL 1 now?
Other version:
Master Dancer/ID/Music/Ent
Decides to try combat and respecs to Officer
Is shocked to be a CL 1
Respecs back
What Entertainer skills will she be?
