(earlier on corbantis( Well, I've been to Theed, Mos Eisley, Bestine, Coronet, Tyrena, Dantooine MO and I've not found a single live entertainer that needs experience. Perhaps it is the time of day. Last night I searched the same set of cities and finally found one in Mos Eisley. I've been sampling radioactive and getting about 1000bf and then looking for an entertainer to help. I know that during my journey to master musician and then later to master dancer, I would have loved to see someone like me walk in. But now, it seems the norm is to afk till you are master and maybe then play live.
Dont' get me wrong, I know from reading this board that there are many of you who never play afk. I'm just suggesting that for someone who wants to help entertainers gain experience, I'm having a tough time finding anyone to help. Unless it is an emergency, I'll never watch an afk entertainer. If I want afk entertainment, I'll go buy a jukebox.
The coming changes should make a big difference in this situation. *hopes*

Hello Folks,
Here are upcoming fixes/additions heading your way! These should be hitting Test Center in the next few days =)
- 2 new songs (Starwars4 and Funk) and 4 new dances (Tumble, Tumble2, Breakdance, and Breakdance2) added to the Dancer and Musician skill tree.
- Dances that move around the floor will animate properly to observers.
- Removal of the timers for Body and Cosmetic changes for Image Designers (this is done in preparation for the Combat Upgrade)
- Removal of falling mistakes when dancing
- Image Designer points will be reduced by 16 skill points so that the ability to master dancer, musician and image designer can be obtained.
- The 15 second delay between stopping one performance and starting a new one will be removed for dancers and musicians.

We appreciate your hopefulness. However, none of the items listed in that announcement were really game breaking for anyone. So it's doubtful that the changes/additions contained in that will have any effect on the number of live entertainers.
It's a very dark night of the soul for many entertainers across the galaxies.

Just want to let you all know that I managed to find an entertainer who was live! He is working on mastering entertainer. I watched him for about 30 min before he went afk for dinner LOL. He plans to be back in 10 minutes. We'll see.

And I'll bet he *claimed* to be a live entertainer too, didn't he.
"Oh, I'm totally live! I'll just go afk for a while, but I'm always here!" Flippin' hypocrites!
Thanks for looking for the live ones, IIscandar.
Is there an entertainer chatchannel on the Corbantis server? If so, you might have better luck in there. Alot of live entertainers stop performing to do other things, since it's so difficult tomake a living as a pure entertainer. They might be out there, just not in the cantinas.

Ohhhh, you meant those changes. Yes, I am very excited about those!
It's just, they do not pertain to Ent Leveling or the ability to AFK through our leveling at all which is what you were hoping about I think. They are still very nice fixes though.

Sadly Theed, which used to be the live center of corbantis, has gone almost completely AFK. I'm one of a core group that used to be there regularly but as with many other entertainers I'm finding other things to pass my time. It simply got too crowded with AFKers to be worthwhile anymore. I've always tried to do more than one thing in game but you used to be able to depend on my being in Theed some part of the evening. Now I'm certainly not an entertainer that needs the experience having mastered music several months ago but I understand the situation you are finding.
Lately my entertainment hours are spent with other live ents in player cantinas and not in public cantinas. The fun of those locations has died. The thing I'm always mystified with is where all the novice entertainers come from and why so many chose the profession then immediately go AFK. When I was leveling there was a bunch of us all starting. Staying live and chatting with each other and making friends was what it was about. Now it seems that every new entertainer is live just long enough to figure out macros. I wish it were different and I've put in many hours trying to have an impact but the influx of new people who AFK immediately is just stronger than my abilities to show the fun in live entertaining.
Corbantis has a strong live entertainer society, we have just found it is more fun to be amongst ourselves than being in a spam filled, zombie filled cantina with rude combatants who DEMAND our service, make lude comments, and fight constantly amongst themselves.

I'm glad you mentioned player cantina's as that is something that has been on my mind lately. Please help the rest of the community understand where these player cantinas that regularly have live entertainers are. I know you can look on the map at the registered dancer/musicians, but as a general rule, it is bad enough travelling all over the major cities in the galaxy looking for atk entertainers, it would be even worse to start visiting player cities as well only to find them with one buff bot or two.
I'd love to show up at a player cantina and find some live entertainers, I think it would be great. It would be a whole lot less people going on the old ignore list. I suppose I could check the entertainer chat, and I probably will in the future.
Still, I think a huge amount of players will go to the quickest and easiest way to get what they want. I could not name a single player cantina that might have live entertainers on corbantis. Not because there isn't one, but because the advertising is just not there. I just plain don't know where one might be.

I have finally convinced a few of my guildies to pick up entertaining - so I am not the only entertainer in the guild anymore (aye, most of the dancing/buffing falls to me, cos they are well aware that if I bust them creating or using buffbots it makes for one heck of an Angry Annie). So far my Party Padwans have been having an absolute blast, and they are starting to see just why I am so frustrated with the AFK-ing. I just wish more people would put themselves in our shoes - literally- and see how the world looks from our perspective

Hehe...sometimes it's like that. On more than one occasion I've been out fighting, and I'll check some cantinas...I'll walk in and say "hello" or "does anyone need healing xp" Nobody responds, so say "your loss" and dance my BF away myself.
