With the exeption of one day in beta when I was preparign a /bug report on how efficient AFK macroing was I never did. I have leveled countless dancers and I have not and will not AFK macro dance. I think a 5 min macro while someone fixes a snack is fine, but I dont even do that. My only macro routine is about 1min 45sec in length, period. So on you.

LOL. Well, if I say "yes", you are right, if I say "no" you claim I deny it and tell anyone you are right. What do you expect me to say ?

Oh, and btw, I made master today. I think my anti-macroing attitude goes way back to pre-master times if you care to look my posts up.

It's not even the AFK players that are the problem.. it boils down to the WAY healing XP is gained. If I am the only dancer registered in the keren Cantina, there should be some benefits to healing there alone! The problem is the large groups forming togain healingxp!! The afk problem is only a symptom of the main problem.

No I think the even bigger isue is why are you trying to level a dancer when it's obvious you dont want to PLAY a dancer. What are you goign to do after your all done macro grinding? Park your character on exotic 4 all night? There are tons of ways for a solo dancer to get plenty of ehalign EXP if they want to work. There is no and I repeat NO excuse for clutering up my playing environment with an AFK dancer. Are you one of these people who are AFK on the cell phone in your car on the freeway too?

You make a good point Akaara. Our best xp is gained in large groups and that definitely lends to the issue. At the same time, it was those large groups that made being an entertainer so much fun and climbing the skill tree tolerable!

To the original poster, believe what you like. I truly enjoy dancing and other than that very last box of healing xp (gah!!!), I never considered it a grind or work or a chore. I've had a great time as a dancer and I am glad I was present for all of it. As a master dancer, afk dancers affect me much less now than when I was moving up. I don't need to get in a group now, so I don't have to beg in tells and hope the leader comes back soon. I've been traveling alot lately and dancing mostly for friends. Go figure.

Oh i do agree on the large group isue I was sad when they aded group bonus to the game. Remove the group bonus and people will only group for entertainment purposes.

When I did master dancer on my entertainer character I didn't know how to write a macro *laughs* on top of that I had a really close friend that sepnt a lot of time playing with me hitting the stupid flourish hotkeys together. There were times at like 3 or 4 am when I had been playing SWG all daythat I found myself just mindless pressing the flourish button over and over. I thought, "please someone just make me an instant master!" *laughs*.

When I decided to add music to my character I just used an AFK macro and sat down with the other robots and let my character level up on her own. I don't think I could ever put myself through that long boring grind again. Maybe if there was something to do that was fun I would do it manually again but honestly we get so much crap for being an entertainer it's just not worth the effort IMO.

Oh and my friend that also did her flourishes by hand is long gone from dancer. She decided that combat and killing were far more fun than dance.

I'm not sure I understand why large groups are a problem. You have to be grouped if you want healing exp actually, at this point I couldn't care less about dancing exp, but when there are 3 people ungrouped you're just pretty unlikely that people will watch you. Sure, you can chat and make sure to entertain them, but will they necessarily use the watch command on you?

It took me 90 days to make master dancer.

How much AFK macroing could I have done?

Ask those who really did use macros how long it took them.

ROFL!

I neveronce macroed while AFK and I have not one but three masteries in entertainment. It's the sort of nonsense I quoted above that makes people think they have to macro to get anywhere.

I complain about AFK macroers because I was and still am *at the computer* experiencing the problems they cause. They make my experience dull and boring because 90% of being an entertainer is interaction. When there is nobody there but afigure blaring notes in an endless monotony, every so often spewing nonsense speech, it's as ifit was a talking toy doll that someone would relentlessly wind over and over AND a broken record that simply wouldn't shut off.

And here's some advice:don't insult people by implying they are all hypocrites if you're trying to make a point. It comes off as incredibly naive and shallow.

I didn't and I still don't, I'm only AFK when my character is sitting down with AFK over her head. Been doing that for 2 months and now I'm almost master musician, dancing i'm going to drop since the last time I saw sync dancing using /band was back in Mos Eisley a month ago.
