i never realized untill yesterday how badly alot of people treat dancers. I really feel sorry for dancers now that i talked to one for a while in coronet yesterday.

After running missions for a while on dantooine i decided i had had enough and went to coronet to take care of my 500+ BF. There were about 20 dancers in the cantina. about 8 of which didnt have afk over their head, and 5 of them acctually appered to be at the keyboard. I just came in, sat down in acoroner table and watched the dancer that was closest to me as i typed an email to a friend of mine. In came this other guy into the cantina. As soon as he walked in he said "Hi SL**s" (im sure you get what he said) and proceded to talk derogatory to the dancers and even went as far as to kiss several of them who obviously didnt want to be kissed by him. This guy just kept getting worse and worse, most of the dancers ignored him, one kept telling him to leave them alone. It got to the point where i ended up dueling this guy, lol, luckly he wasntbuffed and i was (lol, being a DR has its advantages) and he was sent to the cloner.

Is this a common type of an event or did i just a once in a lifetime kinda thing? Do people not understand dancers arent whores? The dancers that were there and not afk told me he comes in alot and they are use to him, but how could you get use to something like that? LoL, they did seem to be thankful to be rid of him, all of the dancers that were there wouldnt accept my tips for them healing my BF.

I know you all might be use to this, but wow, this blew my mind.

It is common, it's not most people though. I mean, I see it a ton, but I don't think most people in the game are like this (thank goodness). One of the very nice things about the early days of holotaining was all the "bouncers" we got all of a sudden, lol.

Thanks for sticking up for the dancers, I really do think that helps... and it seems to work a lot better than what the CSRs tell us to do, /addignore and /report.

Wow Oriz, thanks so much for defending the entertainers!

Yes, it happens alot. Mostly it's a simple "Dance for me babe" which can be bad enough, to what you witnessed. The first thing I tend to do is report him hoping a CSR will come in a see it in action. I don't think anything has ever happened because of it but I'm hopeful

Again thanks

well, i couldnt just stand around and watch, this guy was obviously bothering them. Im normaly the kinda guy that just comes in, sits in the coroner while healing, tips and leaves, but this guy was bothering me so i know he was bothering them too. Its still boggeling to my mind that this kinda thing goes on really. unbelivable.

Yes, thank very much for helping out. Not many people would do that. How do we get used to it? Very simple: this is what guys are like in rl. Not all but enough that this is all too common a sight. A lot of guys figure that because of the anonimity in the game they can say/do whatever they want. They know they're offensive but they only care about themselves. Typical. Most men(?) see women as only toys so figure it's ok whether we like it or not. You do get used to it. Still digusted by it, but used to it. I was actually shocked last night. While dancing on Dath, I didn't have one rude client. Not one. Got tipped a pretty penny too. I was told it was probably because they were desperate for an atk dancer!

yes, sadly CSR's do nothing in the game, i sent a ticket in once about a rebel PA zerging turrents at our bases (which is a exploit as per the devs in the GCW forum) and they said they coudlnt do anything about it, get a group together and stop the rebel attack. lol

lol, yea, i suppose thats how most guys are IRL. Its kinda sad that they are thou. But i suppose thats understandable how you would get use to it. cant say as i really thought of that.

and yes, a Dancer on Dath is a godsend. Even if they were afk ( i usally never use AFKers ill go find a live person if possible as i do enjoy a good chat while healing at times. If i do have to use an AFKer ill usally only top them 1K as opposed to my normal 5K min (on a core world that is) ) would be a min of 10K just for saving me the time and trouble and travel. so that has alot to do with it.

Yea, Im like that also, I just walk sit and heal. I'll chat it up once in awhile but Ive enver really seen this type of behavior toward dancers... go figure. All I can say these guys are just total jerks, but aparently they are the same guys who get the girls... go figure.

I was invited, as a master dancer, to perform in a city on my server. I got so much negative feedback BEFORE the event about their town not being "that type" of town and complaints about dancers in general that I was hesitant to go.

I showed up, danced well, stayed mostly covered, and didn't even DO the exotic dances until certain folks left, didn't get paid at all, and got one apology from the loudest pre-event complainer. I'm not planning on doing this again anytime soon.........I'll stay in my cantina and dance for my guildmates, but I rarely do anything else right now because of the experience, and because of people like you describe.

It's not just that one guy. :-(

Eek! I hope not, maybe self hating sad girls. For sure irl or in game, a lot of girls like the bad boy image... but there's a pretty big difference in between guys who are a little bad and complete jerkheads.

Even on Bria during beta we got that attitude from the players that resented needing to heal battle fatigue.

Its not just the blatant abuse that drives me nuts..its all the people who feel the need to roleplay out their cyber sex in spatial, right in the middle of the cantina...I mean geeze folks,I don'tneed to see that..nor do I think the random 15 yr olds that play this game needtoo.

Get a grp chat and keep that crap to yourselves.
